Eight years ago, Colbi Leigh fled her safe little hometown in Kentucky and followed her dreams to New York City. She left everything behind: her parents, her brother, and the love of her life, Aiden Hughes. Now, Colbi must return home in the wake of her brother’s unexpected death in Afghanistan where she’s about to come face-to-face with her old demons.

Aiden has been left unsettled since his one true love left him for something else in the Big Apple eight long years ago. After the unexpected death of his oldest friend, who was serving in the Army, Aiden finally comes face-to-face with the woman who stole his heart and has haunted his dreams.

What happens when old lovers reunite in the midst of tragedy? Is it finally a happily ever after, or will their dreams tear them apart once more?

This was my first Lacey Black book. I have to say I was not disappointed. It was a wonderfully written love story about Colbi and Aiden.

Colbi and Aiden were friends as kids that turned into more as they got older. They shared a lot of first. Although Colbi loved Aiden she decided to chase her dream and went to New York. Aiden wanted Colbi to be happy and would not stand in her way.  He let her go not realizing she would stay away so long.  Eight years Colbi didn’t return home but when her brother died she found herself in her home town and face to face with Aiden.

Being home for two weeks and being with Aiden him being there for her helping her get through her grief of loosing her brother. She questions her decision of moving to New York. She has to decide between her dream job and Aiden again. Question is does she chose Aiden this time or her dream job again? Like the last time Aiden will not beg her to stay but if she leaves he will not stop her but his heart will be shattered once again.

This was a sweet second chance love story. I liked both Colbi and Aiden. They seemed to fit together like the perfect puzzle piece. I have to say the nickname Aiden has for Colbi was unique and I loved it. This was a quick read if you want a sweet love story and have a few hours you would probably enjoy this too.
