#WOTR24 #SeasonedRomance #Teacher #Nurse – Lesson Plans by Lainey Davis

She’s totally off limits…and she’s also kind of mean. He wants her anyway.

Doug Rogers has it all planned out. He just needs to teach summer school and be the TA for one tiny class at the nearby university and Doug can pay for his masters in education. Hard work, big rewards, right?

But he wasn’t planning on Amy Peterson. The almost-nurse in his comp class seems mad at the world, and particularly mad at Doug. She’s one class away from her nursing degree after five long years of hard work, and she doesn’t have the time or the patience for her optimistic instructor. The more he tries to talk to her, the more he seems to shove his foot in his mouth.

When a work accident brings Doug to the emergency room, he sees Amy in action and knows he’s a goner for her. Will he ever win her over? Should he even be thinking this way about an undergrad?

Lesson Plans: An Education in Romance is a steamy prequel to the Stag Brothers series and the Bridges and Bitters series. Readers have loved Doug and Amy from the sidelines in both series. See how their story begins in this novella.

Lesson Plans originally appeared in Happily Ever Afters for Hope, a charity anthology to benefit UNICEF efforts in Ukraine.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I bought this book.

I have not read this author before.  I wanted something short and sweet so I could get a sample of her writing.  I grabbed this book off her website for a couple bucks when I had a free afternoon to read.

The characters in the story are older and I love this.  Amy isn’t a fresh faced college co-ed finishing her nursing degree.  Doug isn’t an old professor.  He too is finishing his degree.  The two meet and there is some attraction, but hello teacher/student romance would be frowned upon.

Doug is going out of his way to help Amy with her studies for sure and she is kinda stuck in a pity party about missing classes.  When Doug is at the ER and he sees Amy he kinda calls her on her stuff. He wants to know why she is blowing off school.

I liked the couple.  They both had realistic real-life issues and concerns. Being a person who went back to school in my late 30’s I get the issues of life stopping your dream/drive to finish something.

I enjoyed the book and am looking for another short read by this author to fill in another few hours this evening.
