Eileen Sheehan’s Vampire Witch Trilogy: Vampire Witch (Book One) is set fifty years after a nuclear war created mutants and the New World Order became tyrannical. After Casey’s mother died in an ambush, her grandparents took her to a safe house. Fifteen years had passed since that day and Casey encountered Geo, who told her he had a letter for her from her mother. Casey learned that her mother Sybil was still alive and that her grandparents were aware the entire time. She packed a backpack and found Geo waiting for her. Together, they traveled by night to avoid detection. Geo and Casey became infatuated with each other. However, Casey learned that Geo did not tell her that her mother had been transformed into a vampire mutant and that she had arranged for Casey to marry the vampire Prince Vogel. Casey realized she may have made the worst mistake of her life.

Eileen Sheehan’s vivid depiction of a post-apocalyptic world illustrates how dire situations can become. Casey’s recollection of her mother dying by gunfire was horrifying. Casey’s initial mistrust of Geo was relatable. If some smelly, dirty man approached me it could be alarming. Sybil’s reaction to Casey was strange. Since she was a mutated vampire, I doubted she mothered Casey. The supporting characters were well-developed and their importance builds throughout the story. It shocked me to learn that Geo was more than just a messenger. The unpredictable plot took several twists and kept me hooked until the end. I look forward to reading more in the sequel. I recommend Vampire Witch Trilogy to readers who like dystopian stories with vampires, mutants, and rebel survival.

I received this book for an honest review.

Hi everyone we have a bit of a surprise here. It is a fast paced dystopian, vampire romance. There is a mix of a lot of different things going on here and with romance and brutality in a violent world.

Casey grows up sheltered by her grandparents after the death of her mother by a tyrant that she was working to build a rebellion against. Her grandparents raised her far from towns in an effort to keep her safe but due to a major war the ecosystem is a wreck and there is radiation that has caused mutations. The interesting thing is that this story is not as desolate as most and there is still technology and the world wide web. The problem is the people in charge and the way they control people.

Casey’s world changes when she finds out her mother is still alive and well living underground and in charge of a group of people. She is lured into leaving her grandparents to go see her mother and things go pretty sideways for her from there. She finds out that not only are vampires real but there are also vampire mutants. Casey’s mom is now a vampire mutant and as a ruler sees her daughter as a pawn to secure an alliance with a full vampire clan.

The brutal and violating things that Casey goes through in her mom’s place is a bit sudden and shocking. After a rollercoaster of events Casey learns some truths that sends her world rocking again. She is forced to make some choices that not everyone is going to like.

In a lot of ways this storyline is very believable as she is a young girl with no real experience with the wide world. I am hoping that there will be more world building in the next book. I am curious about this world but we are not given a lot of details. I definitely recommend this for 21+ ages as there are adult situations some mixed with brutality. It is a good book just take into consideration there might be a bit of trigger for some.

Sitting at her antique rolltop desk in her home in upstate New York, Internationally Published and Award Winning author, Eileen Sheehan, writes steamy romance thrillers for the mature adult with a sexy male and strong female. The majority of her novels are paranormal, but some are just plain novels about people in love. As the years progressed, so did her writing style. Although she still includes romance and has a happily ever after ending, her stories tend to have more mystery, thrills, and horror in them.

She makes it a point to write a novel length that will allow the busy readers to be able to sit down in an evening (no more than two) and be taken on a journey that was created by her active imagination without having a week go by before they gets to the end of the story.

An incurable romantic, she has a love affair with at least one of her characters… one book at a time. She hopes the same thing happens to you.

If you want to see more quality writings at a reasonable price, please support her efforts by leaving a review.
