This book is an interesting mix of different things. At first I thought this was going to be a LIT RPG with the
way it starts, but it’s not. It gives you a taste of the virtual game Darkforce then takes off like a rocket with
spies, lies, murder, and mayhem. Darkforce is a video game that the fourth horseman of the apocalypse
has created that has become super popular. I like the way the author took characters and incidents in the
bible and built on them and their story. I’m not a very religious person, but I know enough to understand
what was being referred to. This book has taken figures from the bible but it’s not a religious story. It’s a
story that takes biblical figures and builds on their story and what happened to their descendants.
There is a fifth horseman that was left out of the stories about the end of the world, and he’s about to ruin
the fourth horseman’s plans in a major way. Lily is an undercover agent that has been watching a couple
of different people, but is taken by surprise when the truth about these people start to come out. Lily’s
boss is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his secrets hidden, but her boyfriend becomes tangled up in
everything throwing everything and everyone for a loop. However, Lily has her own secret destiny that
makes her a major player in the end of days.
Technology has become more integrated into people’s lives starting with a chip that is implanted in
people. Only there is a nasty little secret about the way those chips work, and how they will help bring
down mankind. There are a couple of fringe characters that are followed and at first I wondered why, it
seemed more outside the story than necessary, but in the end the experience of these characters
provides a view of things on a larger scale when things start to go way south. There is violence with some
hacking, slashing, and shooting but no explicit adult content.

Most of his friends from High School still don’t even know his first name. Known only as either “Mulder” or “Agent”, there was an unforgettable moment when a girl he was dating expressed her confusion when a friend approached him and called him “Richard”. The ongoing joke was “Hey Mulder, where’s Scully?” Ironically he later married a redhead…
