Joel Shoemaker has been a librarian for a decade and a magician for three! He lives in central Illinois with his husband, a frog, a colony of cherry shrimp, and his dog, Maximus. He consumes an inordinate amount of cheese.
How did you hear about this event?
This is my second year! I believe I first heard about it from my friend and half-table mate, Jackie Lawson!

What genres do you write?
LGBTQIA+ affirming faith stories seem to be what I keep coming back to, but my work is also simply humor, as in my anthology about teeth.
What is a book of yours you wish more people read?
My newest book is a picture book called Silas on Sundays! I’ve written two sequels for Silas and so I hope people read it and KEEP reading. 🙂
