Happy Pride Month everyone! Twinsie Tenise here. I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who took the time to answer the questions for our pride month celebration. I had fun coming up with this years set of questions. We will be celebrating all month with author spotlights as well as my reviews for some of the LGBTQIA books I’ve read this year. Check back daily to see what’s going on and add to your TBR piles. I hope you enjoy getting to know a little about all of these wonderful authors and their work.
🏳🌈 Tell us your name and a little bit about yourself?
My name is Jennifer Laslie and I’ve lived in Layton, Utah for the past six years! I’m bisexual but have been in a hetero marriage for 23 years. I have 2 adult boys and a rather large clowder of cats in my home, plus a Caucasian Ovcharka (aka Russian Bear Dog) that literally looks like a big bear! I joke that I’m a crazy cat lady, but it’s okay because I’m married! I love to write paranormal romance and F/F paranormal romance.
🏳🌈 What is the title of your most recent release?
Divination – A F/F Paranormal Romance
🏳🌈 Is there a book or a movie that has helped you have a better understanding of a current or past event in LGBTQ history?
I’ve not really read or watched anything that I can remember that was historical.
🏳🌈 If you could have dinner with a famous person from the LGBTQ community, past or present, who would that be and why?
I’d love to have dinner with Melissa Marr! I absolutely love her Wicked Lovely series! The main characters are hetero, but she is married to a woman. I’d love to pick her brain about her writing process.
🏳🌈 I can hear the complaints now. If you think 1 person is unfair please use this space for additional dinner guests and why you chose them?
Jacqueline Carey would be my next pick! Her Kushiel’s Legacy has LGBTQ+ in it. The dynamics between Phedre and Melisande are full of angst! They may be enemies, but there is still that attraction there. I’d love to ask her about her world building for the series!
🏳🌈 Do you have a favorite review(s) of one of your books left by a reader? Care to share the title of the book, the review, and why this one stood out to you?
I get such mixed reviews on my Forbidden Throne novella. Some people love it, some hate it, but that’s the nature of the beast when you write. This novella was a part of an anthology and had to have a certain word count range. I know I can’t please all of the people all of the time, but I love reviews like this one: This story is short but I really enjoyed it. I hope she writes more femme women loving women stories with possessive dragons! I bought this book and I will be following this author to see if she brings out anymore books like this in the future. Quick read but totally worth it. She packed a lot into those few pages. Highly recommend 🙂
