I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.
EEEEP!!! Shooter is a tall drink of water. Tessie is the such resilient character sooo how can you not love them. So this book was about two minor side characters and TBH it may be one of my favorites. I mean Tessie has HAD IT with Rex and his man-whoring ways so she never SAW Andy aka Shooter. Rex made sure the other guys at the MC kept away from Tessie but never really claimed her as his own. Shooter has watched Tessie from a distance for a few years and thought what a great woman she would be if Rex opened his eyes.
WELL, fate stepped in and help those two broke souls find each other. Tessie’s car breaks down and who comes to help her out? Not Rex but Shooter. She is a bit disappointed that Rex couldn’t be bothered but not really shocked. Rex is Rex. Shooter is kinda smitten with Tessie right away. He goes out of his way to help her out but then realizes he is no good for her because of his past with his ex Tracie…..sooo distance is the plan
Again Fate makes Shooter and Tessie rely on each other. Tessie is assaulted and Shooter is there to help her through it. When the club can’t help her because she isn’t “claimed” by anyone, who steps up? Nope not Rex but Shooter. The two start to live together and discover they calm each other and help the other through the rough times.
Tessie’s little boy Axel is a whole other story…WOW…what we learn about his life and what Tessie did to keep her boy safe. She will do whatever to make sure her son has what he needs. It made me like her a whole lot more to be honest. When Axel’s daddy realizes his responsibility and steps up to the plate I loved Axel refering to Shooter as his other dad too……made tears well up!!
I liked Caroline and her feisty attitude. She will not put up with Rex and so their book is going to be insane!! Rex cannot stand that Caroline puts it back on him for how he is viewed and his actions. Rex also realizes he screwed up a chance with Tessie and is looking for someone to love. I tell you this series is awesomeness topped with amazingness too!!
