#Review – Keeping Knight (Fox & Falcon Securities Book 2) by: Gia Cobie

Keeping Knight by Gia Cobie

Seeing Micah was the best part of my week.

I didn’t sign up for a cooking class as a way to meet men. But my handsome partner made it really hard to remember why I wanted to stay single.

It wasn’t the right time. I had too much else going on. I’d been burned before, and had no desire for it to happen again. They were all reasons that should have been enough to convince me. Still, I couldn’t stop thinking about him.

Then I’m violently attacked, and Micah shows up just in time to save me. Hurt, scared, and still in danger, when he asks me to stay with him for my protection, I agree.

If I’d arrived minutes later, I wouldn’t have saved her.

I’d seen a lot of bad things during my years in the Army, but bursting into Ruby’s apartment to find a man trying to kill her was one of the worst.

Seeing the fear in her eyes and the darkening bruises her attacker left behind filled me with a rage I’ve never felt before. And, in that moment, I knew I’d do anything to protect her.

As a former Delta Force operator, I have the skills to keep Ruby safe. So it only makes sense to take her home with me. Except the more time I spend with Ruby, the more I fall for her. And the more determined I am to never let her get hurt again.

Keeping Knight is a friends-to-lovers story featuring a wounded but strong heroine, a former Delta Force operator turned K-9 handler, a security team comprised of veterans, found family, forced proximity, hurt/comfort, and plenty of unexpected twists. Can be read as a standalone. HEA guaranteed

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Micah and Ruby meet at a cooking class where they end up being partners, and what starts as an unexpected connection turns into so much more. When danger shows up at Ruby’s apartment, Micah steps in to protect her. He has her move in with him so he can keep her safe while they figure out who is trying to hurt her.

Micah is one of those protective types that is so easy to fall for. He wants to keep Ruby safe, but what I loved most was how patient and sweet he was with her. Knowing everything she had been through, he took his time with her and never pushed her into anything she wasn’t ready for. Watching these two go from friends to realizing they wanted something more was such a sweet part of this slow burn romance.

And can we talk about Micah getting Ruby a dog to help her with her PTSD? My heart! It is the little things like that that made me love him even more. Micah showed Ruby how much he cared through his actions, and I loved watching their relationship develop as they learned to trust each other.

I also really enjoyed getting to see the other guys on the team. I am already curious about their stories and cannot wait to see what Gia Cobie has in store for them, especially Wrath. I have a feeling there is plenty more to come, and I am here for it!

If you enjoy a protective hero, a sweet slow burn romance, and watching two people find their way to each other while dealing with danger and past hurts, this is definitely one to add to your reading list.
