Brad: The Fortuna Dare Society by [Rochelle Bradley, Kyleigh Poultney]

The Fortuna Dare Society: a Book Club for Men. What happens at book club doesn’t necessarily stay at book club.

Welcome to Fortuna, Texas where the men are dared to love as big as they live. The men of widower Brad Davidson’s book club, the Fortuna Dare Society, are dared to act out a trope, setting, and character with a significant other.

That poses a problem for Brad, who hasn’t had serious relationship in over twenty years.

He likes the town librarian, but it might not amount to anything more than a strange, costume-staged-musically-enhanced meal.

Then again, he married the last woman he went out of his way to date.

Brad: The Fortuna Dare Society
Book Club Dare….
This is a great short read. This book club is mostly men. They asked a few women to join. Brad is one of the guys. Ophelia is a librarian they asked to join. I love the dare they gave Brad. Such an enjoyable book! From a True Fan… Pam James

Review by Twinsie Angie

I was given this book by the authors for an honest review.

I was at a book signing when the authors told me about this hysterical romantic suspense/romantic comedy they were braining storming taking place at an author event.  They said it would be based out of the town my author event was in, so I was down to check it out.  The book was getting ready to go live when one approached me to see if I was still interested in reading.  I was pumped because what die hard reader wouldn’t want to read about a mystery at a book signing??

I will say I was a smidge saddened to see the description of my hometown, but I guess author liberties ya know. Any way.  I jumped into the story and immediately connected with the characters since I have been to a billion events all over.  I related totally to the BobaBook Babes and their love of swag, VIP tickets, stalking out my favorite author (though not so much for cover models personally) and everything associated with an event.

The banter between characters was very much like what me and my friends would be saying to each other.  We defo throw every cheesy pun at each other while we are having a fun time together much like our characters.  However, we have never had the issue of a murder let alone 2 murders to contend with.

The story was fun and light.  The banter between characters was spot on for what me and my friends would say/act.  The 2nd chance story with Gina and Austin was adorable and naughty which every romance reader wants.

I enjoyed the story of who done it.  They kept us guessing and throwing new suspects at us through the storyline.  I enjoyed the book but really loved the murder weapon for Mr. Stiff.  I totally laughed and will always think of that when I see them at events.

#Review – The Double D Ranch: A Friends to Lovers Novel (A Fortuna, Texas Novel Book 1) by Rochelle Bradley

The Double D Ranch: A Friends to Lovers Novel (A Fortuna, Texas Novel Book 1)

Welcome to Fortuna, Texas where the men read romance novels. This spicy, heartwarming friends to lovers romance is set in the small town of Fortuna and is the first in the Fortuna, Texas series.

Longhorns and lingerie…

Much to the chagrin of foreman Josiah, Jessie Davidson wants a romance reduction. But the Double D Ranch hides a secret. Since inheriting the property, Jessie kept her grandmother’s hoard concealed, but now she’s found the courage to purge the unwanted items: steamy novels, thousands of them. Romance has to go! Donating the books is a good thing, right? Not when coupled with a dare.

The dare spirals out of control. The ante is upped when caches of the spicy books, left in barber shops, pool halls, and pubs, challenge others to join the fad. A perverted prankster runs amok playing on the town’s fantasies. Book clubs are formed. Plots acted out. In a town saturated with romance, Jessie finds her love life underdeveloped.

Keep Jessie safe. It’s the promise Josiah Barnes made to Jessie’s dying grandmother. He aims to honor it, even if it means protecting Jessie from himself. Failing her in the past has him on high alert when the Double D becomes ground zero for the arousal avalanche sweeping the town. As a full-support, silent partner, Josiah will do anything to augment the Double D. But when Jessie starts selling handmade lingerie, keeping his hands to himself is easier said than done…

Will she shelve happily ever after like a rejected novel, or open her heart and start a new chapter?

Review by Kelly

The Double D Ranch is where the arousal avalanche started with the discovery of the provocative hoard of romance novels. Now all the big bad men are in book clubs learning the art of magic mouths while the women wait to be experimented on. LMAO! This is not all! There is a wonderful story about Jessie who inherited the Double D Ranch when her grandparents passed away. She is slowly but surely going through all their things when she happens upon the hoard of romance novels. And I use the term hoard very loosely. A bet is made and next thing you know the whole town is hooked on the romance novels! She uncovers a past about her grandparents that she didn’t know and realizes that her grandmother was a little feistier than she ever would have thought. I LOVE her grandmother’s story and the fact that her friend is still around to add fuel to the fire. Actually, there are a lot of things that go on in this story. I will be brief so not to give too much away but there is a town prankster, lingerie, an incredibly slow burn love story, crazy characters, and an intense backstory of Jessie’s. I must be honest that the slow burn part was killing me. There were times that I was like “just get it on already”! However, the crazy names, funny situations, the plethora of sexual innuendos and the witty banter had me literally laughing out loud! There is a great story, though a bit sweet and corny at times, kept me turning the page. This is a new author for me, but I definitely needed the tongue-in-cheek story. If you need something light-hearted and a bit on the slapstick comedy side, I’d recommend!

Rochelle Bradley and Jennifer Daniels

Who's the Fairest?: A Sister's Grimm Anthology

Once upon a time…

There were two brothers who collected tales from their homeland and put them in a book. Stories of magical creatures and horrible fates. Princesses who fell under enchantment and princes who came from the countryside to save them.

These are not those stories.

And we are not those brothers.

This time, it’s the Sisters turn to spin nine tales that will delight and terrify you. If you were looking for those classic stories you heard in your childhood, look again, because these stories aren’t like any you’ve heard before.

Maidens turning into flowers, and soldiers brought back to life by a snake’s whim, these stories are filled with a dark romance that you can only get when you reimagine those classic Fairy Tales.

Here’s your chance to find out if all Fairy Tales end in: Happily Ever After…
Or if their fates are sometimes a little bit Grimm…

#WOTR20 #AuthorSpotlight – Rochelle Bradley

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

I’m Rochelle Bradley and I write romantic comedy because there’s already too much crap in the world and I feel it needs more laughter and smiles.

When in observation mode I’m quiet, however, my mouth is usually open with an encouraging glass-is-half-full pun or, quite possibly, my foot.

I can’t cook or sew and consider myself undomesticated. I do like to bake and make a mean BTS (Better Than Sex) cake.

I am a Bearcat, a Buckeye, an interior decorator, and fluent in sarcasm.

I live in southwest Ohio, near Dayton, but I grew up in Cincinnati. I have two kitties that you’ll see on my social media often.

When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.

When I’m home, I love black tea, cafe mochas (coffee with hot chocolate), or wine.
I have to listen to music without lyrics or else I’m singing along or wondering why the artist wrote it. I prefer classical and epic movie soundtracks but will listen to spa too.
Wherever the cats are…there I am. Bed, sofa, table, or desk. I sit like a human though.

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

Meeting new people and seeing old friends. Books!!!

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

James Rollins. I picked one of his books up at a yard sale and my life hasn’t been the same as an author since.

When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?

I”m always working, usually editing, writing, or marketing. The only thing I do consistently is meet with authors twice a week to write. I am definitely a pantser and lists are my friend.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

This past fall I went to Canada for an event. I played author/reader dating game and had a blast. Though it was only two minutes long I got to know people. Since the event was a long weekend by the time it was over, I felt I had made life long friends.

Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?

The Double D Ranch proof. Yes, it’s my book, but it reminds me I can do anything and dreams do come true.

I try to put an artistic spin on everything I do but there are two things I continually fail at miserably:
1. Cooking (seriously, I can burn water)
2. Sewing (buttons immediately fall back off)

I consider myself undomesticated, though I love baking and make a mean BTS (Better than Sex) cake. When in observation mode I’m quiet, however, my mouth is usually open with an encouraging glass-is-half-full pun or, quite possibly, my foot.

I am a Bearcat, an interior decorator, a cat mom, and I’m fluent in sarcasm.

Where is your favorite place to write and what food must be present?

I write in coffee shops or cafes. Dayton has a new place called Epic Coffee Shoppe and it’s, well, pretty epic. Chai lattes are a go to when I’m out but at home I love a glass of red wine when I edit. Cookies or brownies are nice too.

What are you favorite things about attending signings?

Meeting new people (both readers and authors) and BOOKS!

What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?

James Rollins. I found one of his books at a yard sale and it jumpstarted my drive to write (after I read his currant books of course). I want to say thank you and have him sign my shelf of books.

What author would you love to write with?

This one is hard. A Dayton author I would love to collaborate with would be Aliya Dalrae even though she writes paranormal and I don’t (yet). We have similar senses of humor and would be snort-laughing throughout writing process. I’d also be happy to collaborate with Carolyn Brown. She’s nice (I met her and her hubby at the RWA national con last year) and knows what she’s doing.

What is your favorite memory so far as an author?

There are many memorable things I could list: the feeling when I was first live on Amazon, my first library event, when a paperback arrives and I hold it for the first time… but my favorite so far is the first time a reader contacted me and talked about my characters as family. She knew my story almost as well as I. It was awesome to know I lifted her spirits and made her giggle.
