#review #partofaseries The Perfect Couple (Nantucket 3) by Elin Hilderbrand

It’s Nantucket wedding season, also known as summer-the sight of a bride racing down Main Street is as common as the sun setting at Madaket Beach. The Otis-Winbury wedding promises to be an event to remember: the groom’s wealthy parents have spared no expense to host a lavish ceremony at their oceanfront estate.

But it’s going to be memorable for all the wrong reasons after tragedy strikes: a body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor just hours before the ceremony-and everyone in the wedding party is suddenly a suspect. As Chief of Police Ed Kapenash interviews the bride, the groom, the groom’s famous mystery-novelist mother, and even a member of his own family, he discovers that every wedding is a minefield-and no couple is perfect. Featuring beloved characters from The Castaways, Beautiful Day, and A Summer Affair, The Perfect Couple proves once again that Elin Hilderbrand is the queen of the summer beach read.

When the weekend wedding of the rich and not so rich takes place in the beautiful Nantucket and everyone is excited and ready to party. the bride and groom pushed the wedding up so that the bride’s mother could be there since her cancer diagnostic has made her long life shorter and she wanted to see her only daughter get married. but when the maid of honor is found dead on the beach this happy weekend turns into a crime scene no one wanted. Will this crime be solved, will there still be a wedding and will anyone be shocked at the outcome of the crime. loved this story the flashbacks didn’t get too confusing, but I didn’t see that ending coming.

She grew up in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and traveled extensively before settling on Nantucket, which has been the setting for her five previous novels. #wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries Dear Lyla (Love Notes Season 2 #4) by Danielle Keil

Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.

Lyla Moore has been waiting for hers for years, ever since her older brother had been involved in the Secret Admirer organization and numerous of his friends participated.

She knows all about the tradition thanks to him, but there’s one thing she never foresaw—the way her admirer sends his clues. It’s unlike anything she thought it would be, and honestly, she’s a little intimidated.

Lyla has a starring role in the spring musical at the end of the month, and her admirer is using that to his advantage. He’s sneaking around the theater, leaving her notes Phantom of the Opera style.

Can Lyla find her phantom in time or will she watch as everything goes up in flames?

Lyla is a legacy and just like her mentor Mya, Lyla has found herself with the famous teal envelope during no other time then the spring play, which she got the lead role. She doesn’t have time to follow clues around with the play she had to focus to nail her role, but her admirer made her clues come to her with being the Phantom of her dreams. her brother tucker was pumped that it was his little sister’s month and can finally learn about it and being a part of the best tradition at Ryder High. will Lyla be able to figure out her Phantom of her Oprea before the end of the month or will she get the hook before the time is up.

The town folks hated having her wolves around and close to their livestock but with cameras all over her property, Gemma knew what was going on. but when a mystery man showed up claiming to be a part of the wildlife organization and claiming to have Gemma under investigation wasn’t the first time, she has heard that, but something was different about this guy and he made her feel different, she was at odds with her feelings and about him and he had feelings right back for her.

#review #suspence These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant

No electricity, no family, no connection to the outside world. For eight years, Cooper and his young daughter, Finch, have lived in isolation in a remote cabin in the northern Appalachian woods. And that’s exactly the way Cooper wants it, because he’s got a lot to hide. Finch has been raised on the books filling the cabin’s shelves and the beautiful but brutal code of life in the wilderness. But she’s starting to push back against the sheltered life Cooper has created for her—and he’s still haunted by the painful truth of what it took to get them there.

The only people who know they exist are a mysterious local hermit named Scotland, and Cooper’s old friend, Jake, who visits each winter to bring them food and supplies. But this year, Jake doesn’t show up, setting off an irreversible chain of events that reveals just how precarious their situation really is. Suddenly, the boundaries of their safe haven have blurred—and when a stranger wanders into their woods, Finch’s growing obsession with her could put them all in danger. After a shocking disappearance threatens to upend the only life Finch has ever known, Cooper is forced to decide whether to keep hiding—or finally face the sins of his past.

Vividly atmospheric and masterfully tense, These Silent Woods is a poignant story of survival, sacrifice, and how far a father will go when faced with losing it all.

His buddy Jake comes and visits once a year and brings enough supplies until his net years visit. but this year the date passes and no Jake, so Cooper has to do the unthinkable and go to the store for a years’ worth and bring Finch along with him. Terrified he would be out in public were someone may notice him isn’t what he wanted bit as a father he has to do what needs to be done. After being away from people except for the nosey property neighbor life is quite peaceful for them but this year feels different, and that gut feeling doesn’t go away for a while. Will Cooper be able to keep his past right where he wants it to be or will he have to face it and spend the rest of his life in jail.

Quinn has one thing on her mind at all times softball she eats, sleeps and breathes the game 24/7, but she gets thrown for a loop when she gets the famous teal envelope right at the beginning of softball season. but she couldn’t turn down the challenge so with school, practice, gym time and extra time at the batting cages, she now had to find out clues to who this mystery guy could be. thankfully the guy understood that softball was first, so he was making it fun and semi easy for Quinn to get clues around her schedule Geocaching was the name of the game and its going to be a wild ride. Will Quinn be able to find clues while focusing on the game she loves or will she be forced to quit the game and accept defeat.

Violet isn’t giving up without a fight, with her siblings, friends, and boyfriend by her side she’s determined to find a cure to turn Xaden back from being a venin and also find her dragon’s family the 7th kind. is she the key to unlocking all this new at Basigath or is it the end. so many tears, heartbreaks and another cliffhanger to leave you wondering where the rest of the story is. this was a great climax of the series, and it was difficult to put all the words together for the review.
