#review #suspence These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant

No electricity, no family, no connection to the outside world. For eight years, Cooper and his young daughter, Finch, have lived in isolation in a remote cabin in the northern Appalachian woods. And that’s exactly the way Cooper wants it, because he’s got a lot to hide. Finch has been raised on the books filling the cabin’s shelves and the beautiful but brutal code of life in the wilderness. But she’s starting to push back against the sheltered life Cooper has created for her—and he’s still haunted by the painful truth of what it took to get them there.

The only people who know they exist are a mysterious local hermit named Scotland, and Cooper’s old friend, Jake, who visits each winter to bring them food and supplies. But this year, Jake doesn’t show up, setting off an irreversible chain of events that reveals just how precarious their situation really is. Suddenly, the boundaries of their safe haven have blurred—and when a stranger wanders into their woods, Finch’s growing obsession with her could put them all in danger. After a shocking disappearance threatens to upend the only life Finch has ever known, Cooper is forced to decide whether to keep hiding—or finally face the sins of his past.

Vividly atmospheric and masterfully tense, These Silent Woods is a poignant story of survival, sacrifice, and how far a father will go when faced with losing it all.

Cooper and Finch have been living off grid for around 8 years now, on his army’s buddy property away from everyone. His buddy Jake comes and visits once a year and brings enough supplies until his net years visit. but this year the date passes and no Jake, so Cooper has to do the unthinkable and go to the store for a years’ worth and bring Finch along with him. Terrified he would be out in public were someone may notice him isn’t what he wanted bit as a father he has to do what needs to be done. After being away from people except for the nosey property neighbor life is quite peaceful for them but this year feels different, and that gut feeling doesn’t go away for a while. Will Cooper be able to keep his past right where he wants it to be or will he have to face it and spend the rest of his life in jail.

Quinn has one thing on her mind at all times softball she eats, sleeps and breathes the game 24/7, but she gets thrown for a loop when she gets the famous teal envelope right at the beginning of softball season. but she couldn’t turn down the challenge so with school, practice, gym time and extra time at the batting cages, she now had to find out clues to who this mystery guy could be. thankfully the guy understood that softball was first, so he was making it fun and semi easy for Quinn to get clues around her schedule Geocaching was the name of the game and its going to be a wild ride. Will Quinn be able to find clues while focusing on the game she loves or will she be forced to quit the game and accept defeat.

Back at Basigath its still crazy, trying to get things back in order after the crazy wyvern and venin attack. Violet isn’t giving up without a fight, with her siblings, friends, and boyfriend by her side she’s determined to find a cure to turn Xaden back from being a venin and also find her dragon’s family the 7th kind. is she the key to unlocking all this new at Basigath or is it the end. so many tears, heartbreaks and another cliffhanger to leave you wondering where the rest of the story is. this was a great climax of the series, and it was difficult to put all the words together for the review.

One of Ryder Highs bright, smart and bubbly tutors is about to get her turn in the spotlight Wyatt Anderson got her famous teal envelope and was now this month’s “IT” girl. Which at first was difficult because she’s already on the shorter side and didn’t know what the crowd was gathered around, but the closer she got to her locker she quickly figured it out. Wyatt may have gotten her envelope on April Fools, but this was no prank, now she had clues to solve, classmates to tutor and keeping up with her life and own schoolwork. Follow Wyatt as she decodes this month’s clues and tries to figure out who the guy is while her heart starts to fall for someone who might not be behind the letters. This might be my favorite book yet (shh don’t tell Max) I loved Wyatt, her guy and their friends.

Ava Calvert works in Chicago at a travel budget magazine but never really traveled because life isn’t cheap. And her boss can totally tell that within her articles and wants her to work on it just doing research isn’t enough he wanted her to experience travel, so he sends her on a mission, to the land down under and wants her to just go with no plans only so much money per day for meals and just to have fun. When a man visits her hotel and tells her he owns a cruise ship company in need of a temporary cruise director, she jumps at the chance to spend the holiday at sea. But running a cruise ship isn’t so easy with a twisted ankle and a flasher running amok.
