Welcome to Covington Cove Island… where timeless charm and secrets intertwine, and every wave whispers a tale of hidden hearts and summer dreams.

Marlowe Mitchell’s day is off to a rough start. Not only have all her friends and family forgotten her birthday, but Eleanor Covington, a sort of grandmotherly figure to Marlowe, passes away. Worst of all, she crashes her bike into the most popular guy on Covington Cove Island.

It seems her summer is destined to be terrible, until her ex-boyfriend’s parents ask her to house sit. Marlowe can’t turn down the money they’re offering, even if it means being in a house that holds such painful memories.

Things get worse when her ex-boyfriend, Reid, shows up unexpectedly a few days later, acting like he hadn’t shattered her heart the summer before.

While Marlowe is dealing with the emotions that come with living with the ex she’s still in love with, she gets a mysterious message from the late Eleanor. A clue, leading to a scavenger hunt that sends her all across the island.

Marlowe wants to protect her heart, but she’s forced to confront her unresolved feelings for Reid when he insists on helping her solve the clues.

Will Eleanor’s riddles lead Marlowe to a reward worth more than she ever imagined

And can Marlowe and Reid once again reclaim the love once held in their hearts?

Review by Twinsie Dee

i was given this book by the author here is my honest review

Marlowe a local year-round resident of Covington Cove, she loves living on the Cove with her grandmum. Last summer she found love and heartbreak and now she just wanted to survive the summer, without running into her ex, well she ran into someone else who thankfully wasn’t her ex, but one of the most popular guys on the Cove. Marlowe also got a message from one of Covington’s original members after she pasted, so now she’s got to figure out the clues while working her normal jobs, dealing with the boys in her life and their egos, housesitting for her ex’s parents, on top of everything else. it’s about to be a crazier summer then normal will Marlowe be able to survive or just break down with everything that’s bound to happen to her.

#Review – Zodiac Academy 3: The Reckoning by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

“The answer to your question will be revealed on the Lunar Eclipse. But when discovering the truth, do not let the shadows take you.”

Hell Week has begun.

Senior students have been tasked with making the freshmen’s lives pure torture as we prepare to face The Reckoning – the assessment that will decide whether we stay at Zodiac Academy or lose our places here forever.

With the Lunar Eclipse on the horizon, my sister and I have more to worry about than just passing our exams.

A dark plot is unfolding and the shadows are drawing closer. It looks like our enemies could be more powerful than we ever realised.

Damn, who would have thought being a princess would be this hard?

Okay I am officially obsessed with this series. I actually think I became obsessed after book 1. This series has it all: Strong characters, a sibling bond, love, passion, action and more.

This book is about The Reckoning obviously. So we’re back with Tory and Darcy trying to fit in and navigate the ways of the Fae while dealing with four grumpy heirs who are trying to get rid of them. Just when they think they can trust people, it of course backfires on them.

So much happens in this book that I’m sure I’m going to forget quite a few things for this review.

We continue seeing what a monster Darius’s dad is and the intense hold he has on his sons. Darius is my favourite of the four heirs by the way.

Caleb and Tory and still doing their thing but he keeps giving her whiplash with his nice guy act and then suddenly turning mean and wanting to get rid of her.

Like Tory says in the book, at least Darius has been honest this whole time and she knows where she stands with him. He hates her – maybe not as much as he tries to though – and she hates him – again, not as much as she thinks either. I’m chomping at the bit for these two to get together.

I really like the dynamic between Darcy and Orion but I’m just waiting for their thing to become public and how it’ll destroy what they have.

I’m so excited to read the rest of the books! I feel like now we’re really getting into the nitty gritty of the world. ‘

It’s going to be quite the ride!

#Review – Zodiac Academy: The Awakening As Told By The Boys by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

**This is a retelling of book 1 of Zodiac Academy from the perspective of Orion, Darius, Caleb, Seth and Max**

The Vega twins are alive.

Those five words circle in my mind like an oncoming storm. They change everything about the future we thought had been set in stone. They challenge everything we were raised to be and the stability of the entire kingdom.

They’re coming to our academy looking for the life that was stolen from them, but we can’t let them take it back.

So much hangs in the balance and we can’t risk the arrival of two naïve princesses destroying everything we worked so hard for.

I have trained in dark magic, overcome all challenges and stood in the shadow of Lionel Acrux for far too long already. I won’t let them come between me and his downfall.

Which means they have to go before they discover how powerful they truly are.

This is a retelling of the first book in the Zodiac Academy series from the point of view of Orion and the Heirs and should be read after you have finished the original story. It includes scenes from alternative points of view as well over 50k words of additional content and scenes which have never before been revealed. So prepare to step into the dark minds of the Zodiac boys and watch out for the heartbreak and carnage that will ensue.

I got to book 3 in this series before I found a reading order and before I realized that I should have tandem read this one with book 1. But having read book 1 and gotten more into the series, it was fun going back to the beginning to find out why the guys are the way they are. They all have their own reasons, having to deal with their parents’ wrath but Darius’s situation is the worst of them all. His father is a monster and the things he puts Darius through, add to the fact that he uses his brother to get him to do what he wants…man I can’t wait for the day that Darius can take him on and get rid of him.

It was interesting to see the guys’ points of views during certain situations. Their filthy minds were definitely far more out there than the girls’. Lol!

There are so many different reading orders for this series/world and I feel that there is no right or wrong way to read them. Just enjoy the process.

I’m no where near being done this world yet but I’m obsessed and I can’t wait to see where the journey takes me!

Zac

I stopped believing in the good a long time ago.

My childhood was stripped from me one dark night and I was forever changed.

Everywhere I looked I saw evil. Everyone I met, I looked at them as the enemy.

It took a long time for me to open up and when I did I found my family. The only people I could count on.

I never imagined I’d have a family. Because having a family gave me something to lose and I never wanted to feel that pain again. I never wanted to feel weak.

If there is a disaster, I can be found in the center of it.

If there is a wrong choice to be made, I’m first in line. I mess everything up.

I’m a magnet for disaster, and when I had the chance, I stumbled right into the arms of a tattooed bad boy. One I knew could destroy me.

He wasn’t looking for anything more than one night and here I am, telling him he’s now tied to me forever. Like I said, I’m a mess.

#WOTR25 #Audio #EnemiestoLovers – Don’t Go Away Mad, Burgers and Brew Crue #2 by Lacey Black

JasperThe kitchen: it’s my domain, where I create the best burgers in the Midwest. I’m the man behind the grill at Burgers and Brew, the restaurant and bar I co-own with my best friends. Every night, we’re packed, the demand has never been this high. It’s the only way I want it, thriving and pushing myself to be the very best.

Then she started her new business across the street from mine.

The one woman who always got under my skin, who pushed me to be better. Lyndee was my biggest rival in school and my biggest regret.

Now, she’s in town, and as much as I try, I just can’t stay away.

I want her.

Lyndee

A new start: that’s what Stewart Grove means for me and my brother. He’s the one who pushed me to take the chance on opening my own bakery. I am ready for the long hours, the grueling schedule, and the hard work it will take to be successful.

I wasn’t at all prepared to come face-to-face with the man across the street.

An almost kiss in college with the world’s most infuriating man has haunted me for the last decade. Now Jasper’s here, and I don’t think I can resist him.

Things are about to heat up in and out of the kitchen.

I just pray I don’t get burned.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this audio.  I gotta start by saying I enjoyed the male narrator’s voice alot in the series.  I had a few issues with the female voice.  Several times I turned the story off.  Her voice was ok but she has a hard lisp and it made listening at times hard for me.

Jasper and Lyndee were a great read.  Book 1 is still my favorite and I loved that their story continued in this book but i did like the new couple.

Lyndee is such a great human,  She works hard.  She studies hard.  She loves hard.  She does all she can for her mom and brother.  When its just her and her brother they decide to move and start over.  She opens a bakery across the street from her college nemesis Jasper.

Jasper is not happy about Lyndee starting a bakery.  He immediately jumps to negative conclusions before even talking to her.  Stupid boys.

Jamison made me laugh because he could see his friends lust for the baker but his pride wouldnt allow him to admit it.  LOL  I am excited for his book too.

Jasper and Lyndee help each other out along with the rest of the crew.  Lyndee jumps in when the restaurant is struggling one night which makes Jasper appreciate her in a new light.  The couple slowly build a relationship which of course blows up due to a stupid boy…smh.

I did enjoy the story and cant wait for the next audio book,

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this book.

I love new series from authors I call a “one click” author. So when Miranda dropped this bad boy I was ready.  Life lifed and I had to wait a couple days to get to it but I did finally.

This book is a slight spin off from the other series she has.  There are brief mentions of the characters but it is not necessary to read them at all but trust me you will want too.

I love MC stories so I was very excited to read about Karma and her story.  I also love the enemies to lovers with Chaos.  I mean who doesn’t wanna see that chemistry combust.

The story was a series starter so I know to give it time to open up and tell us all the characters.  I will say because we had 2 separate MC clubs it was a little confusing getting all the new characters off the bat.  So a few times I was like is that her club?  His?  Dad’s??

Karma was rejected by her mate and was destroyed.  Her dad takes her home and years later she is running her own club without daddy around.  Chaos is part of her dad’s club and they soon need to lean on each other to figure out what is going on in the town.  Of course they are at each others throats and Karma was sooooo pushing Chaos away.  When he starts making deals with her to spend time with him she does it but is still confused about the chemistry.  She HAD a mate so there is no dang way he is her mate like he claims.

The chemistry was great.  They were perfect pair and I cant wait to see where this series goes in future books.

Mother to two teenage boys, 2 four legged babies, and wife to a loving army veteran who doesn’t mind the extra voices in her head. Miranda grew up on a dairy farm in Illinois, but calls Portland, TN home now. She is an avid reader, coffee addict, wine lover, crafter, and beginning quilter. Though her true passion is in creating her own worlds, characters, and stories for her readers.

#WOTR25 #Review – Given: Project Xol (Book 6) by Audrey Kaye/Amabel Daniels

Taken to a Xol lab, Cassidy prepares to meet the one woman who’s never wanted her. It’s not clear why the scientist requires her now, but she hangs on to two hopes—that Luke has gotten away and is safe, and that the vial of genetic material they’d fought to protect is destroyed. Life isn’t fair, but she pushes aside the cruelty of losing Luke so soon after finding his love. Survival, however it may come, is imperative, because she refuses to fail in ending the diabolical “cure.”Stranded in Mexico, Luke must contact the one person he’s always wanted to keep from danger. It doesn’t take much to convince his brother to be his backup in rescuing Cassidy from Project Xol’s team, and soon, the brothers follow her trail. Even with the help of the billionaire who’d once funded the research, it seems impossible to take down such a corrupt team hellbent on unethical experiments and producing something that can change the world forever. Despite the odds against them, they can only fight until the end, hoping they have made it in time…Given is the final book of the Project Xol series.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Holy what the heck in the Jason Bourne did I just finish reading?!?!?! Project Xol for the win!!!

Cassidy is one of my all time favorite characters. She started out as a meek and timid character but her strong badassedness had shown through time and time again. And she does not disappoint in Given. She is literally at the end of her rope but she knows she needs to do the right thing. She is out of tricks and out of rescuers. BUT, the tricks and rescuers are on their way. Even though she is adopted, she is such a pure and genuine person that she has made strong and unwavering friendships with others that become her family. And they are coming to help her. She has to take down her blood family and the diabolical “cure” as it is wrong. A new human subspecies….um, no thank you! When all things seem against you, monsters against humans, you have to pull out all the stops. When you have overcome so many episodes of hell, you can’t just stop. They do not stop. Not til the very end.

This entire series is a page turner! You will keep going and going and going. There is not one part of this series that I would change. Bravo!

The danger in this jungle is unlike any peril he faced in prison or on the streets, but using his head—and ignoring the ache in his heart at losing what he’s sure is love—he plans an escape.

Once they’re on their way, however, he still lacks the chance to tell Cassidy how much she means to him. They leave behind death and horror to find a scientist in the city. Wrought with doubt and confronted with hostility, they realize they have the key pieces to ending Project Xol. Faced with the responsibility of destroying the resources that could save many lives, decisions are harder to make. After another narrow escape, Cassidy hopes for a break—for any kind of a breather from constantly being on the run. She and Luke head to a safe house arranged for them by Zero, and it’s there that they find new sources of potential help. Hendrick’s journal might show a promise of where to locate the elusive scientist, but it more than digs up Cassidy’s past. Finally given a chance to recover from his injuries, Luke struggles to accept this temporary relaxed state. After all, how much longer can he and Cassidy deny their intense chemistry? Peace doesn’t last, though, as a newcomer trespasses on the property. Together, they head to Mexico in pursuit of the man who might have answers to Project Xol’s new agenda. Getting there is a challenge, but running into the cartel is a bigger dilemma… Stolen is the fourth book of the Project Xol series and it continues in Reclaim.

Finally….a moment to breathe. Time to think. Time to get stuck in their own heads. Cassidy and Luke continue to stay on the run but get to finally “rest,” if you can call it that. The chemistry between these two is so intense and when they finally collide you will literally FEEL the heat! The rest doesn’t last too long because we get a new character that comes to the party! Welcome Tramer! OH, and spoiler alert!!!! So many secrets are unveiled!! The reason for Luke’s prison sentence is unveiled and we get a lot more information about Cassidy’s biological family. And whew! There is sooooo much to take in! Then while looking for Hendrick, they are in the clutches of the cartel. I mean super-secret science freaks and now the freaking cartel?! What more could you ask for? There is so much crazy going on in this story that you can’t help but keep turning the page to only find that you have yet come to the end of the story. Yep, another cliffhanger. C’mon folks! Time to start reading the next book, Reclaim. See ya there!

Armed with data they don’t know what to do with, Cassidy and Luke struggle to escape the invincible recruits from Project Xol. Desperate for help, Cassidy strives to locate a safe place for Luke to recover. There’s no time to fall into a false sense of security—not when she’s wanted for alleged murder. She needs to protect her father’s intel from zealous scientists and to figure out a way to avoid the law. Trust doesn’t come easily for Luke, but he must have faith in Cassidy when he’s too wounded to protect her. Even though they have limited options on the run, he hopes they’ve found an unexpected ally in a rural location. Too high of hopes, it seems, because they’re only pushed closer to law. Captured, Luke reaches out to his brother for help. But could that one call be all it takes for the leader of Project Xol to finish him? Review by Twinsie Kelly

Holy, I don’t even know what to say! Book 3 starts exactly where book 2 ends. Literally….BANG!

I have no clue how these two keep going on, but they do. Luke is hurt bad and Cassidy has to get help, and fast. Zero, thank the gods for Zero, gets her on a path, and she finds a helpful hand. But even this helpful hand doesn’t last long. They have fallen into a bizarro mad scientist war and they were just innocent bystanders a week ago. Chaos is a constant and it is sucking them dry. However, everything that was before Project Xol just doesn’t seem important anymore. Their relationship is getting stronger. But they can both be their own worst enemy when it comes to their relationship. Each one, with good reason, questions their feelings because of the constant chaos. Is it real? Is it because they are constantly being hunted? Do they only need each other right now? They hardly know each other, but there is sooooooo much chemistry!!!!!!!

***small spoiler alert*** THEY KISS!!!!!!!

There is so much going on all the time. And so many twists! You don’t really know who to trust, when to sleep, can you go outside, will he kiss me again? (yes, he does)

You really should stop reading this review and just read Find. And as soon as you finish Find, skip reading my review for STOLEN because you will just need to read it too like I did. 😊
