#wotr # attendingauthor #partofaseries Creeping It Real (Magical Bureau of Investigation 2) by Albany Walker

Do dead men tell tales?

Before the ink is dry on my last case, I get pulled onto another, and away from what could be a new beginning with the guys.

The murder of a high-profile coven leader is being kept a secret, only his inner circle knows. Problem is, they just may be the reason he ended up with a femur through his heart. Add some necromancy into the mix and things are getting down right intriguing dangerous.

On top of the case, there’s also my very tricky love life that has a little too much in common with the dead man for my liking. I just hope our story doesn’t end with a bloody, broken heart like his did.

Bones are piling up, just like suspects. We need to solve this case before the death magic can target anyone else.

Creeping it Real is the second book in the Magical Bureau of Investigation series. This is a slow burn RH or whychoose novel with adult situations.

I was given this book by the author for an honest review

Wow one again Albany hits it outta the park. Frankie was sent on a case to figure out who killed a huge coven leader and then while she was there another similar scene in a cemetery and it just goes crazy from there. Once arriving at the hotel she calls her guys to let them know where she was, and that she didn’t know when she was going to be home due to the case. When they show up at the hotel Frankie can’t believe it but also she loves that they came to her. Percy once again is the best sidekick and the star of the book lol. But with the guys there and this case getting more and more crazy will Frankie be able to focus on what she needs to and get them all back home. Which when they get home and it don’t low down more drama is waiting for them right around the corner. This book is amazing I’m so ready for the third book Albany does an amazing job and I’m obsessed with her books.

Albany lives in Michigan where she’s happily married to her high school sweetheart. She spends most of her time juggling her four children’s extracurricular activities, with her nose stuck in a book. When not reading you can find her writing her very own book boyfriends. Albany’s passion is writing romance with real characters that are far from perfect, but always seem to find their own happily ever afters.

I bought this book and this is my honest opinion

Macey lived a pretty typical ice she was working at a museum that held crazy and creepy things and she loved it but she’s also held magical powers. Which she only used when she needed to, as she was learning more about her craft and expanding what she can do, she thought she could make a side business out of her gift. Especially when she gets a phone call saying that he owes more on her student loans then she thought and after getting fired form her job at the museum, she didnt have much of a choice. Well she ends up doing way more then she should and ends up in a bit of trouble but when her new boy toy tries to help her out it ends up doing more harm then good. Will Macey be able to help herself outta the trouble she got herself into or not. This was a good story about how to be true to yourself and not to let anyone else change you.

#wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries Drunk Girl (Lyrics and Love 2) by Samantha Lind

A NEW STANDALONE Title from Samantha Lind in her Lyrics and Love Series!

NICK

Beautiful, broken, and abandoned.

The second I see her in my bar,

With cover charge stamps plastering her hands,

I know what I have to do.

Take her home,

Get her into bed,

Where I know she’ll be safe.

I do exactly that.

Leaving her keys and my number,

As I lock the door behind me.

She deserves more,

So much more.

ASHLEY

Shattered, vulnerable, and alone,

Trapped in a lifetime of hurt,

Trying to break the cycle.

But he came in,

Saved me,

From myself,

From my circumstances.

Showing me compassion,

And respect.

Proving I am so much more.

More than just a pathetic drunk girl.

Take a drunk girl home, isnt that what any good bartender would do or at the very least make sure she gets home safe. Well that’s exactly what Nick does when he eyes a drunk girl crying in a booth at his bar. Little does he know that she’s going to change his life upside down. Ashley was down on her luck she just lost her job and came home to find out her boyfriend was cheating on her, a night out with her best friend was what he needed and was what she did. She just didn’t know that the nice cute bartender was what she needed and from there their love bloomed into something either of them seen coming and they wouldn’t have ever thought it was because of a drinking night at a bar. This was a cute quick read while the song by Chris Jansen plays in your head the entire time.

Samantha Lind is a contemporary romance author. Having spent the first 27 years of her life in Alaska, she now calls Iowa home where she lives with her husband and two sons. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading, watching hockey (Go Knights Go!), and listening to country music.

“Hey Frankie, we need ya.”

One phone call, five words, and I’m back in the town I swore I’d never return to.

Belinda the new librarian was doing her best to clean it up, but a dead body wasn’t helping matters.

Dad needs help to solve the murder, so that’s what I’m here to do, then get out of town before anyone even knows I’m back

The case should be easy for an MBI agent, even a newly minted one like me, but before I can check into the hotel my three reasons for leaving, corner in the lobby.

Life is good for MBI agent Frances Bishop, she’s an important member of the bureau. Then she got a phone call from her dad saying he needs her for a case back home, so she return home after she said she never to return. When the case gets crazy with a guys head basically exploded and magic lingering around but not able to pinpoint from where. Frances also has to worry about the 3 guys she ran from in the first place. This case goes from a normal mystery to the ultimate mystery. Sexual tension through the roof and 3 hot witches trying to keep their girl. Wow this book was amazing not gonna lie the title is what drew me in because I love a good mystery and homicide is right up my ally, I completely loved Frances and her fellas and I’m so ready for the next book.

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

Gwen and Kian…such a great story.  Kian is a Demigod who is pretty much just done with secrets. Gwen is a Guardian who had been fighting her whole life.  She is tasked with finding the son of someone who ends up being her mate!!  SAY WHAT.  She had given up on finding her mate so yeah shocker!!!!

Kian is not about to trust anyone given who his whole life of circumstance.  I mean he is manipulated, and pretty much just told flat out lies.  He doesn’t know who his dad is thanks to mommy dearest.  So when Gwen says they are mates he is less then thrilled at the news.  Plus can he trust this person since no one is every truthful about anything in regards to him.

This book is another great read in the series.  I enjoy each book and can’t wait for more from this author.

A mafia romance about betrayal and faith by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Eagle Elite series.

“The truth may hurt for a little while, but a lie hurts forever.”—Ryan Bigge

I grew up knowing it would happen one day.
Believing that I would fall into my father’s footsteps and become a monster of my own making.

So I fought it.
I lived.
I loved.
I teased.
And then one day… I destroyed.
And realized I loved the pain.
Obsessed over the feeling.
So I cut again and again and again.

She saw my rage, my madness, and tried to stop me from destroying myself, and I hated her for it, pushing her away past the point of no return.
Izzy Abandonato was supposed to be mine.
But there are some things people can never come back from. I hurt her, she hurt me, and now I’m living a lie. Telling the ones I love that I’m on one side when for years I’ve been forced to play both.

I’m not the hero.
I’m the villain.
And I may single-handedly bring down the Cosa Nostra—by default.

I, Maksim Sinacore, will have my vengeance.
I will win her back.
Even if it means I have to kill everyone in my path.
The pain masks the betrayal.
I never realized that one day—I’d be the very rat that I hated. That I was sent to kill. But once you’re deep in a lie—you’ll do anything to hide the truth.

She fell for the bad one.
She fell for the sinner.
So why does that make me smile?

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I do love this Mafia family. Izzy Abandonato and Maksim Sinacore have been perfect from the star. Both were more interested in their studies than in the family business. This book was great so many ups and downs. I even had a few tears in there too.

Izzy is a strong, independent and sassy woman but would we expect any less from a woman in this family. She loves Maks with all her being but he continues to break her heart time after time when he pushes her away and runs to other women. Most would give up and protect their own heart but not Izzy. She may try but she just cannot give up on Maks.

Maksim holds my heart. I have never had a story take me on a ride like this. Everything Maks did was for Izzy and his family. Always afraid to turn into a monster and he felt Izzy deserved better that what he was. He would show her he loved her and she meant something then he would push her away and find someone else to hurt her.

The love these two have for one another is spectacular. What Maksim was dealing with was heartbreaking and I love him probably as much as Izzy does. Izzy shows over and over that she is the perfect person to be with Maksim no matter what her dad does or says. With these too the saying could not be truer never judge a book by its cover. Sometimes you have to open in and dig in to truly find their beauty.

I have only read Mafia King in this series although there are a lot of characters in this book, I was still able to follow. I may have been able to clue in on some of the underlying things if I read the others but I don’t feel I missed out on the big things. I am only 3 books behind so I am sure I will be able to get caught up. I did enjoy Maksim and Issy’s story and cannot wait to jump into the others and see what went on to bring us to this point and then on to Broken Crown in a few months.

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

This series has gotten better with each book, and I cannot wait to see then in the next series with Peter. The last book in the series I admit I was wondering about. Edward is quiet and we don’t know much about him at all.  But after meeting Mia, I had to wonder where she would fall in the series or the next.  I was happy to see she was the perfect fit for our brooding and awkward final Broderick brother.

Eddie (as his siblings call him) is a loner by choice and his family has always allowed him to get away with it.  He loves that his siblings have all fallen in love and gotten mated, but he sure doesn’t think this is in the cards for him.  He is a bit jealous, but he is making the best with what he feels he was dealt.  When he is stumped by a gorgeous witch at his siters wedding he begins to question if the fates had finally tapped on his shoulder.

Mia can’t stop looking at the mysterious Broderick brother she hasn’t met.  She can’t stop thinking about him but when he opens his mouth, he only seems to insert his foot.  The couple have some growing pains and figuring out the other but when they DO, it’s a great chemistry.  As t be expected there are a few miscommunications they have to figure out, but the story is fast, and I flew reading it.  Also, can someone tell Peter to shut his wolfy mouth. Dude is seriously a buzz kill….lol

I loved the whole series and cannot wit for Peter to find some love in his series.  Dude is LONELY!!!!

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased the audio book with my credits.

Hello Pittie momma so of course I had to grab it.  Then when I saw the main character Lily is a shifter….uhm paranormal are my jam so yessssss score score score!!

I will admit I am not a giant mystery reader but I loved the format and the comedy of the story, so it hit me in the right spot.

Lily has been surrounded by sadness her whole life.  She leaves home to find a long-lost uncle she never knew existed.  Uncle/Cousin Buzz wasn’t so keen on keeping his niece/cousin in town buuut they start to bond.  If you wanna know the uncle/cousin and niece/cousin story line I guess you need to read the story.

Lily is wondering through town when a pit bull runs up and adopts her as her person.  Lily also meets her new friend, Smooshies, owner and smitten is a word you could use.  Parker is kind and gentle plus kinda hot for a human so when he is accused of murder……Lily can’t handle it and is off to use her paranormal powers to solve the case.  No offense but she really was an awful person in live…old Katherine. *Growls*

I really enjoyed the who-done-it and getting to meet the characters in the town.  I personally can’t wait to see Buzz settle down, but I really want to see Parker and Lily maybe *wiggles eyes* admit some feelings for one another.  But Parker’s dad was also the best ever.  Honestly other then the old bitty who died, I loved the town.  LOL
