#wotr #attendingauthor #novella #partofaseries Tyson (Ariel Kimber 4.5) by Mary Martel

Tyson is 4.5 in the Ariel Kimber Series.

Tyson Alexander is a long time member of a coven of witches who are more like brothers than simply friends.

There are seven of them total in the coven and all of them are male. The majority of them come together from broken, messed-up families and have nothing else in this world that matters outside of each other.

Then, six months ago, everything changed when they shared a dream about a beautiful, sad girl who was just like them. That’s to say, a witch.

Then, she moved in next door to them and changed their entire lives, turning everything upside down.

And they all, every single one of them, loved her for it.

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

Inside the mind of the first person to make Ariel feel uncomfortable at school but also made friends with her to protect her. Tyson has definitely had his emotions and everything all over the place from dealing with his crazy psychotic ex randomly messaging him, to trying to be there for his family. It’s a wild ride especially after he randomly buys a building which was a business his father use to take him to as a kid. Now it was all his and he might have regretted buying it on a whim but now it was his for his girl and he wasn’t sure what exactly to do  with it.

#wotr #attendingauthor #seriesstarter #newrelease Season Starter (summer loving 1) by Amabel Daniels

Jessie

The last time I saw the man—jerk—of my dreams, he fired me. Now, he’s back in town to renovate my bed and breakfast before the tourist season starts.

I might have gotten over my grudge, but I sure haven’t moved on since him. Harrison is the ideal hunk, or he was back when we were young and stupid. My contractor is still sexy, possibly sweet, and easily keeps up with my sarcasm…but he’s a package deal this time. He’s back with a daughter and a chip of his shoulder, neither of which should matter to me. But the more I see him on the job, each time we clash and fall into our thrilling push-and-pull, I have to wonder if there’s something fresh to start with him before the summer kicks off.

Harrison

Of all people, it just had to be Jessie Green buying this old dump. Imagine my shock that the feisty, gorgeous, stubborn girl I fell in love with in high school is the owner of our town’s former brothel.

Her plans for a B&B are a nearly impossible race against time—doable, but it’s quite the hustle. With the tables turned—her hiring me—it’d be easier done if I didn’t have to see her day in and day out, worrying if she can overlook our past, wondering if she tastes as good as she looks, wishing I could have a take two. Hell, even a take one

I was given this book by the author for an honest review

Holy hawt damn you can feel the sexual tension rolling off the pages as the story gets deeper into the story. Jessie always dreamed about opening a bed and breakfast in the run down mansion in town,  and once she got a lot of money from a relative she wasn’t aware she had she could finally do it. Well once the couple finally decided to sell and the town worm (wormer being his last name perfectly fitting)  so they made a deal if she could get the house fixed up by the time the tourist season started she could buy the house. And she ended up hiring her old crush from high school and damn did he age well but he also now had a kid. Will they get this house done in time or will their sexual tension keep them from getting the job done in time and allowing all Jessie’s money go to waste and letting Wormer turn it into a parking lot. Wow this story was amazing hilarious and hawt I loved every second of it.

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

After winning the Stanley Cup and bringing it home to Alaska for the day Scott Taylor was on top of the world. He was just missing one thing back home the love of his life his high school sweetheart that broke up with him 8 years priers and who he’s never gotten over she was definitely the one who got away and he compared every girl to her. Becca was the one who broke Scott’s heart all those years ago so every summer after hockey season is over she does everything she can to avoid him in the small town that they live in. So this summer she decided that she wasn’t going to avoid him and see what happens because well she regrets breaking things off with him all those years ago and she wants him back in her life. Will these two reconnect for the summer and continue to be in each other’s lives or will the distance and crazy schedules rip them apart again. Wow this is such a great book my first hockey romance book too and definitely not my last it was such a quick read I couldn’t put it down.

#wotr #attendingauthor #audiobook #partofaseries The Ties That Bind (Ariel Kimber series 4 ) by Mary Martel ; narrated by Melissa Schwairy

Ariel Kimber isn’t like most seventeen year old girls. She’s different because she’s a witch with magic and it’s rare for females to hold magic anymore. She’s settling into her new place amongst her coven of guys while she’s settling into her new home at the same time.

The Council’s appearance into their lives has put everyone on edge. With good reason. Ariel is forced to meet with one of them on a regular basis so that they can learn from each other. Really, though, they just want to get to the bottom of where Ariel came from and she is more than happy to comply with them.

Because there is one thing she wants more than anything else in the world, and that’s to find the man who has been searching for her for years. Her biological father.

And Ariel is willing to go through any and every thing to find him.

This is the fourth book in a slow burn Reverse Harem Series.

I was given this audiobook from the author and this is my honest opinion
Ariel is back with her guys, and they are on the hunt to find her father after finding a box in the back of who she found out was not her mothers closet. Now she has to deal with the counsel being near and trying to teach Ariel how to use blood magic. And with Chucky being told he could be Ariel’s new servant which is the last thing she wanted. Ariel’s father Rain found her and now wanted to be in her life, and now she was getting closer to the other guys that she hadn’t been close to. So with new relationships forming and her father in her life she couldn’t image anything bad happening well little did she know something or someone was going to be coming into her life from her guys past and try to sink her claws into one of her guys. This was once again an amazing book I just love it so much and this was my very first audio books to listen too.

#wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries Finally Us (Next Generation Series 5) by J.M. Walker

-Vince-

She was perfect.

Her heart.

Her soul.

Everything.

I had been in love with Gigi Rodriguez for as long as I could remember. I had never been shy about my feelings toward her. Everyone knew how I felt. Except for the person who mattered most.

I needed her like I needed my next breath. Our souls called out to each other, entwining together to form a bond I had never felt with another person.

She was passionate.

Strong.

Mine.

Just when I thought I had her in my arms for good, an unknown force threatened to take away the only thing I had ever wanted…

-Gigi-

He was stubborn.

Obsessed.

Dominating.

Vincent Stone Junior was the very reason I danced. Every time I moved, I moved for him. He just didn’t know it yet.

It all started the night of his eighteenth birthday, but school got in the way and I didn’t see much of him for the next three years.

When he came home for good, I knew that he had one mission: To crack down the walls I had built.

I didn’t want to love him.

I didn’t want to need him.

But losing a piece of myself made me realize that I did in fact want those things. He taught me to love myself first and that he would be there, ready and waiting…

For me.

I was giving this book for a review and this is my honest opinion

Holy hawt damn… this book wow ur gonna need a cold rag to help cool you down. So Gigi and Vince have known each other their whole life, had feeling for each other but there was a age difference and neither one wanted to  admit their feelings for the other. Well they both gave each other their virginity the night of Vince’s 18th birthday right before he went off to school. 3 years later feels are still there and they are still having fun, will these two finally get their heads outta of their asses and let the other one know how they feel and knock down all the walls that’s surrounding their hearts. Or will they let other people feelings dictate how they live, with constants obstacles trying to get between them will they get their happiness that they both have been wanting for their whole lives. This book was amazing like everything JM writes you will never been disappointed in her words and the sexiness is on point and on fire.

#WOTR – #Review – The Amalgam (The Aberration Book 1) by Michel Prince

The Amalgam (The Aberration Book 1)

Genetics, radioactive spiders, mutation following tainted energy drinks. No one knows what triggered teens to suddenly get powers. Abilities emerge, first sought, then destroying lives with only one link between those effected. Their birthdays all end in double zeroes.

Riley Weston wished he could be an awkward kid in high school, but life had other plans. The Aberration Laws made all around him suspect, until the wheel of fate turned to point her arrow at him.

Even if your powers have yet to emerge. The government is set on owning all those in possession of abilities.

For Riley, a camp, ran by Aberrations, hides, trains, and keeps them safe. But the world wants their powers. To meld them into a force no army could defeat. Riley, and those like him, now walk the world scared, angry and afraid. Which is not the combo you want with unlimited powers.

Can Riley learn to control his gift before outside forces find him? Or before inside sources give away more than just him, but the whole camp.

Goodreads

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Did you read the blurb?! Mutations, aberrations, genetics….YA Sci Fi? Sign me up! This is something straight out of a superhero comic! I live for this stuff! This story is an intricately woven fantastical tale that never leaves you with a dull moment. Right from the jump, Riley’s house is being searched and he is in a sort of panic room or safe room. He has been forced to live in secrecy for fear of being taken to a type of detainment camp to be experimented on. The time has come for him to secretly be taken to a secret camp with others like him. His mom and dad basically have to smuggle him out and make a secret trade for this to happen. All hell breaks loose and Riley is swept away to the camp. Only, it’s not exactly a camp. This is a massive center with tons of others that are “special” like him and others that are “normal” with no powers. He quickly finds out that not everyone can be trusted. And as his power starts coming to fruition. Only he finds that he doesn’t have just one power like the other aberrations,  but multiple. Now we have a teenage boy that has been thrust into a crazy situation that he is trying to navigate, he needs to learn his powers, all while being scared and confused. This is a dangerous combo. But wait, there’s more! He finds an incredible group of friends that he can absolutely rely on but when you are told that you may be “the one”…How are you supposed to react?! And don’t forget, we still don’t know who to trust.

There is an incredible explanation as to why these kids have powers. The way that these teens figure it out and explain it, brings a historical type of element to this book. Gods and goddesses from way back when could all be part of who they are today. And when stuff really starts to go haywire, the truth starts coming out with even more twists coming your way.

Seriously, if you need something different to shake things up, this is the book that will do it for you. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the sequel. Bravo, Ms. Prince! Loved it!

#WOTR21 – #Review – The Amulets by J. Lawson

The Amulets (The Amulets Trilogy #1)

A centuries-old war, a lineage of magic thought long dead, and a girl desperately struggling to find her place.

Jordan has a secret; one that’s kept her intentionally antisocial. So, when new girl Georgia moves to town and begins working at the same bookstore, she is naturally apprehensive. Yet, discovering their unanticipated connection makes her question everything she’s ever believed.

When they discover unusual happenings linked to the old mill, they along with Sawyer, handsome grandson of the town crank, find themselves forced to investigate a potentially evil source of conflict threatening the safety of their town. Will Jordan and Georgia’s common gifts, along with Sawyer’s courage and charm, be enough to get the answers they need to save the town? Or does letting yourself care just mean you have more to lose?

Goodreads

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Who says we need less dreamers and more concrete intellects? Jordan’s boss! Psh! First, I love that our main character works in a bookstore and promotes fantasy books, just saying. The Amulets, for me, was a pure and wholesome young adult book. It was very sweet. Jordan is a shape-shifter and has kept this secret for many years. She is afraid if she gets close to someone that she will ultimately lose them because they won’t understand. This is something she struggles with throughout the story. Their small town is truly a small town. Everyone knows everyone and you only fall into a few different categories with school and work. And, if you make it out, you don’t come back. Until Georgia shows up one day to work at the same store as Jordan. These two are definitely kindred spirits and you can feel the bond forming right from jump. Their friendship is something most of us wish we had. Then we have Sawyer, a super cute guy who brings them coffee! Score! Jordan and Georgia are both shapeshifters and Sawyer is not. The secrets now become very delicate. On top of this, the town has lost their dang mind! This causes the trio to do some investigative work which ends up getting really hairy in the end. And when I say hairy, I truly mean hairy. Reality can be just as crazy as the stuff people imagine.

The story started a bit slow for me but I think with this being the first in the trilogy the world building was needed. It is super sweet too. No swearing and no crazy make-out sessions. There are a couple kisses shared between Jordan and Sawyer, and they were perfect. I definitely think that this is geared toward a younger YA group. Once the story got moving, it was hard to put down. And now that I reached the end I need to know what happens next.

#wotr #attendingauthor Dirty Crown by Mary Martal

I always held hope that the day I left the compound would be the day I found freedom.

I was wrong.

My future had never really belonged to me. My father laid claim to it the day I was born, and I had been a stupid, naïve girl to wish for anything different.

As the heir to my father’s immense empire, my crown sits heavily on my head as I navigate my way through dealings with the criminal world while trying to stay alive.

Unfortunately for me, my crown and my hands are forced to get dirty along the way. Thankfully, I’m not expected to do it alone. Roarke, my deadly bodyguard who’s been by my side since I was six, is my shadow and always will be. I also now have Alessio, the cold, tattooed hottie, Roman, who conceals everything with fakeness that comes far too easily for him, and the alluring but sweet brothers, Tito and Enzo.

When bullets start flying, and people begin dying, my five guys not only stand behind me as the queen of their empire, but they also prove they have every right to be there by getting their hands just as dirty as my own.

Dirty Crown is a full-length, standalone reverse harem novel. This book is recommended for readers 18+. It contains sexual situations, swearing, violence, and some dark themes. It also contains MM as well as MFM.

After watching her grandfather get shot in front of her by her bodyguard, and learning that she had a  grandparent that she just learned about and now he was gone of course story of her life first her mother had passed and now her grandfather. Now she was locked in a suite with 4 new guys she just met and her bodyguard. Valentina was going on her first appointment with the Russians to do a trade well when the deal goes south, her father gets killed and now she’s in charge. How far will Valentina go to get her crown dirty and with her men at her side this new queen could be unstoppable…. OMG I freaking loved this book well I love everything Mary writes but omg this one amazing. The hot steamy scene were just right  and the men were just the right amount of sexy and sweet. Plus Alessio is my man I love him and his #restingdickface so much

I was giving this book by the author and this is my honest opinion

Jordan lives in a small town and doesn’t really hang out with too many people only because she has a huge secret that she’s never told she can shape-shift into a wolf. She’s never met anyone else that’s like her until a mother and daughter move into town. They become close and Jordan  discovered that the new girl can also shape-shift but instead of a wolf she shifts into a bobcat. So now Jordan has a friend and she couldn’t be happier, she had someone else who was like her and she didn’t feel so alone anymore. There are a lot of mystery things that are happening in this small town that Jordan and Georgia just can’t explain so they decided to investigate what they find will shock them both or will it?  This was a good read but a little rough for me to get into in the beginning just felt like it was all over the place in the first chapter but then got back on track in the next chapter. It was a very good and quick read.

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

Ariel is still trying to make it day by day after finding out that who she thought was her mother was actually her aunt that had kidnapped her as a baby and that her biological father has actually been looking for her still is crazy to her. Which each day she is learning more and more about the magical world and how dangerous it can be if a spell is not done correctly. She is also learning more about the new men in her life I mean after all she now has 7 boyfriends, the guys who weren’t on board in the beginning after what happened the last time they had a female witch are finally coming around.Mystery, love and a bit of blood this book was just as amazing as the other 2  I love this group of characters and can’t wait to find out what happens in the rest of the series.
