Armed with her father’s journal and his hawk pendant, Jacinda journeyed to Wanatoga to follow the clues to stop the evil hunting her bloodline. Before arriving at the reservation, she lands herself in a new batch of trouble.

On watch for proof of a plot to abduct and murder Others, Chatan spots a striking redhead he’s immediately drawn to. As he watches, Josephine’s goons capture and before he can make a move, she escapes and runs.

Luckily, she doesn’t run far, goes straight to the nearest Motel, that happens to be owned by his aunt. Without revealing his own secrets, he convinces her staying is the safest option and he’ll help her find what she’s looking for.

Jacinda’s escape only frustrates Josephine who hasn’t given up on capturing the powerful caster who got away.

The elders look for a way to stop the murders. An old story ties Jacinda and Chatan together while her search nears the end.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Finding Hawk is the third book of the Branches of Emrys series. This is Jacinda and Chatan story and the mystery of Hawk and Dove.

Jacinda is on a mission to uncover the clues left behind by her father hoping to find how to stop Thanatos who is out for her family. She finds herself stopping at a diner in Saint Morton where she is kidnapped. Jacinda is able to find a way to get out of that trouble and takes refuge in a hotel; the same hotel that is owned by Chatan’s aunt.

Chatan is drawn to Jacinda who convinces her to stay and agrees to show her around while she looks for what it is her dad left her clues for.

Both Jacinda and Chatan keep their secrets close. Jacinda is afraid to stay in one spot fearful Thanatos will find her. Chatan has not felt like he belonged on the reservation or in Edenton where his dad and brothers are.

I enjoy seeing Chatan break down some of Jacinda’s walls and seeing her fall for Chanton. One of my favorite things is seeing the characters of Brandy’s other series she has a way of intertwining her characters from each series. I am so looking forward to Chasing Dove because Brandy left us on a little cliffy and I need to find out the ending of Chatan and Jacinda’s story.

A few of my favorite quotes:

Something you need to accept is that you may never find the answers. When you find love, you should hold on, no matter what. Especially if they are willing to follow you. Love you, dove. Good luck with Chatan.

Chatan already knew he was playing with fire. He couldn’t fucking well help it either. Nothing worth having wasn’t worth fighting for. And maybe she needed to be shown what he wanted.
