Sidney Larson always thought dark-haired, blue-eyed Brett Carmichael was sinfully sexy, to say nothing of the muscular mechanic’s talent with his hands. But Sidney so didn’t have time for Brett’s overbearing tendencies when they were together so she broke things off. Now a chance encounter brings Brett back into her life, and Sidney can’t help but notice intriguing changes in her ex. So what’s stopping her from revisiting their scorching-hot chemistry?

Since Sidney dumped him, Brett’s made major life adjustments, thanks to therapy and a long, hard look at himself. Sure, he’s still intense but he knows how to focus his energy on his career, not on trying to control a fantastic woman like Sidney. Brett finds the sweet, generous brunette more seductive than ever, but now that he’s finally worthy of her, will she be willing to give him a second chance?

I received this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Oh man!!  I was super excited to see over the top and overly controlling Brett get a novella.

He made things between Valerie and Logan super difficult so I liked seeing him crawl a little bit until…well dang it…..until I saw how sad he was without Sidney.

This novella is a quick but hilarious read between Brett and Sid.  These two are so in love but Brett’s issues got in the way of their relationship.  A new and improved Brett has crossed paths with Sidney, and he is all about showing her the new man he is.

I loved seeing him try to deal with seeing her dating and the guy she is dating….lol but I really loved Valerie playing matchmaker between the two knowing they needed a little push to finally admit how they feel.   What I loved most about Sid is her fear of not being attractive enough for the man she loves.  What woman doesn’t have insecurities???  She totally could be me or you.  Which this is a quality I love about Alison’s writing.  She writes real life people and real life issues we all have to deal with.

If you are a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed in the love story between the two.
