#WOTR27 #Authorinterview – AD Ellis

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Hi! I’m A.D. Ellis. I’ve been publishing romance since 2014 and queer romance since shortly after. I’m a mom of a 21yo who is kicking ass with her woman-owned small-business waxing/esthetics spa and a 19yo who is a freshman in college majoring in Civil Engineering.
I’m currently in my 28th year of teaching. I love to read and write. I like a nice cool, crisp day, a good walk with great music, a long drive with the perfect audiobook, and afternoon naps on cool, rainy days. I’m a lifelong tea drinker who recently added coffee to my vices. I love sweet red wine while laughing with friends. Pizza, plants, pens, and notebooks make me happy. I am known to be a bit odd, but I’ve come to love that part of myself the older I get. My sense of humor is a bit warped and often questionable. I don’t watch a ton of TV at all, but I’ll watch Reacher and Silo with my husband. I used to be a huge fan of 24, Prison Break, The OC, Dawson’s Creek, etc. I have a fear of deep open water, and I despise making phone calls. If it’s a MUST DO phone call (making an appointment or similar), I’ll do it. If it’s something like ordering food, it’s 50/50 on whether it actually happens.
I write sexy, addictive, emotional queer romance with tons of found family vibes and characters you want to be friends with. My books range in angst level with older titles being slightly more angsty than newer titles. I’m 100% against the use of generative AI so you can be guaranteed my stories are my own. I also do 99% of my own covers (a few were done by other real-life humans – NOT AI).
