#WOTR23 #ReleaseDay #FairyTales #JasmineAndTheBeast #YA #ForcedProximity #enemytolovers – Protect Me Not, Tangles Web Series, Book 1 by Danielle Keil

At Fairview-Teller High, light mixes with dark. Good with evil. And heroes with villains. But there’s a reason the students call it Fairy Tale High. They’ll get their happily ever after, even if they have to fight for it.

What would you do if the guy you hated moved into your house?

Queen bee Jessa had it all—money, beauty, happiness, popularity.

At least, she did, until the school’s bad boy– the guy she can’t stand– became her live-in problem.

Adam had his own demons to deal with and didn’t need Jessa’s stuck-up rich girl drama added to it.

They tried to stay away from each other. But the more Jessa learns about Adam, the more she loses her grip on her hatred of him.

When her best friends and the rest of the student body suddenly blacklist her, Adam is the last person Jessa thought she’d turn to.

He can’t stop himself from wanting her. But his problems are just beginning.

Not even fate can save these two from their curses….

Protect Me Not is a young adult, enemies to lovers, forced proximity contemporary fairy tale retelling mash up of Aladdin/ Beauty and the Beast.

#WOTR23 #AttendingAuthor #authorSpotlight – Danielle Keil

Danielle Keil

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Danielle Keil is a Young Adult Romance author who loves warm weather and coffee. And anything purple.

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?

The ones after! Always nerve wracking to make sure it lives up to the first!

When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?

Switch things up when they least expect it. Change tropes. Change POVs. Throw curveballs.

Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?

Find author besties! Find some in the same place as you writing wise, find a few that are ahead of you, and keep them forever

On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?

Not enough. But usually a few hours I’d you add up all the bits and pieces

Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.

Max from my Love Notes series is one of my favs. He’s just a goofball that loves to make people smile and laugh.

If any of your books were to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it? What book and who?

Jenna Ortega would play Calista from Dear Calista. A quiet, sassy introvert who just wants to be left alone

What is your definition of success?

Achieving a goal, no matter how big or small.

#WOTR23 #YA #SecretAdmirer #seriesStarter – Dear McKinnon, Love Notes book 1 by Danielle Keil

Dear McKinnon (Love Notes, #1)

Everyone knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.

Everyone except new girl McKinnon Gregory.

The envelope is the start of a monthly tradition called the Secret Admirers, and something McKinnon never thought she’d see.

To her surprise– and everyone else’s– the teal envelope is taped to her locker on March first.

McKinnon only has one month to figure out the clues. But she barely knows anyone, which makes it infinitely harder to determine her secret admirer’s identity.

Will she figure it out before the month’s over?
And if she does, will the guy she’s fallen for through letters be just as amazing in person?

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this book.

I am going to start this review by saying your girl here doesn’t read YA.  Nothing against it but I just don’t and haven’t in a long long time. However, this author is about the sweetest and most adorable person in the whole dang world.  I was up on all the books I needed to read and said LET’S DO THIS!!!

I purchased this book and dove right in annnnnd I was hooked.  I freaking LOVED IT!!  I thought the premise of the series was cute and totally enjoyed the “new girl” getting the first letter.

McKinnon/Macks was the new girl who pretty much kept to herself and kept her head down.  She was quiet, shy and totally the book nerd you picture.  She is like WHUUUU when she is given the first letter.  Her bestie Skye was cracking me up.  She was so funny and totally what I would have been like through the process.

The story is sweet and the fact Macks and “Charlie” start to form a great letter friendship that turns to trusting friendship and then a possible romantic relationship.  Loved it!!  I had to admit I was going between 2 guys on the story.  I wasn’t totally sure who the guy was and when it was revealed…my heart was skipping beats.  I mean this was it.  That was the time for Macks to decide what she does….does she accept him or not???

Seriously I enjoyed the story 110%.  I will be picking up the others and reading when I can because I want to see Spencer’s book!!

#WOTR22 #attendingauthor #spotlight – Danielle Keil

Danielle Keil

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Danielle Keil. I’m a lover of avocados, chocolate, coffee, and Corgis. I’m a decent dancer and… oh. Wait. Did you want info on my authorship and books? Okay… I’m a YA/NA author. A mix of contemporary and romance, mostly romance. I love putting mental health and real-life issues into my books, because it makes them *real* and relatable.

When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?

All of them 😛 Or editing. And blurb writing. Those are way harder than writing the book itself!

When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?

Trying different tropes, putting new spin on characters, different personalities, different issues going on in their lives.

Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?

Take your time. Find your tribe. Find friends in the same spot as you and friends who are ahead of you to help guide you!

On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?

Maybe 1-3 hours. All the other stuff takes up so much time!

Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.

Probably Lizzie Wright, from Far from the Surface. She is based off of me in high school, so she’s very near and dear to my heart.

If any of your books were to be made into a movie, who are the celebrities that would star in it? What book and who?

Hmm. Radical Royal was based on an actor from Julie and the Phantoms– Owen Joyner (the drummer), so definitely him as Ollie. And maybe a young Vanessa Hudgens for Maggie? I’m so bad with this question, especially since I write YA and I’m not totally up to date with the younger actors!

What is your definition of success?

Whatever makes you happy! It doesn’t have to compare against another person, it can be any small victory. Did this book get more preorders than the last? Success! Did you hit a page reads goal? Success! Are you happy with this book, even if no one is reading it? Success!

#wotr #attendingauthor #seriesstarter Secrets of the Summer (The Pact Series 1) by Danielle Keil

SECRETS OF THE SUMMER is a series starting novella within the Pact Series.

Five friends.

Five days left.

When the Camp Wildwood crew gathers at the campfire every night, there’s one thing we won’t discuss: reality.

Talking about life outside the camp bubble is strictly forbidden. We want to have the best summer experience without the burden of our real lives hanging over us.

We came to camp to be free. Free of judgement, of stereotypes, of societal labels.

Which means we all walk around holding in secrets like ticking time bombs.

With only five days left, reality threatens to come crashing down, hard.

Who will crack first?

Review by Twinsie Dee

I bought this book and this my honest opinion

Five friends that all come from different walks of life but come together at camp every summer. One rule they have made is that they don’t talk about life at home, and they always come to campfire at the end of the evening before bed. Camp brought them together and they look out for each other, but keeping how they handle things back home a secret is harder then some of them thought will their friendships stay true as camp is almost over or will it keep them apart and wishing they never went to camp in the first place. This was such a fun teen story that made you wish you went to summer camp when you were younger or made you remember the times you went if you did.
