This series has grabbed me and is not letting go. The first book was good but I enjoyed this one even more.

I am enjoying learning more and more about the covens and each of the guys. I am excited to see how each one will develop a relationship with Ariel and it is sure to be different for each of them.

I cannot wait for more of this series and so ready for book three.

An independent gamma, a logical werewolf, and someone who threatens to tear them apart.

After a few failed attempts to connect romantically with humans, Adira accepts her single life and continues to thrive as the Alumbra Pack’s gamma. When her wolf claims the man across the room as theirs, however, she panics and runs.

While retrieving his sister from the pack who’d saved her, the last thing Luke expected was setting his eyes on his true mate. Unable to return to his pack without Adira, he sets out to woo the fascinating and formidable woman.

Choosing which pack to settle down with should be the biggest trial ahead of them. But when someone sets out to tear them a part, the ever logical and calm Luke learns there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for the woman he loves.

Can he ask her to stay with a target on her back, or will he choose to leave his now-whole family behind?

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I loved reading the story of Adria and Luke. He is so level headed and understanding when it comes to Adria. His wolf not so much he is demanding and Luke has to hold him back in many instances. Adira is the Gamma in the Alumbra Pack and is treated as an equal with respect.

Adria and Luke lay eyes on one another when he is at the Alumbra pack to retrieve his sister and bring her home. The moment Adria sees Luke she knows he is her fated mate and runs. Luke is on a mission to woo her and let her know he is the best mate around. Adria decides to go with him to take his sister home to see his family.

Let’s just say not everyone in Luke’s pack is happy to see Adria. She is powerful and must threaten them because now she has someone after her. Luke is torn between staying with his pack and leaving to stay with Alumbra pack. Can Adria and Luke make things work with someone trying to take out Adria. Will Luke be able to choose between leaving his family behind to keep Adria safe or stay with his pack and keep her safe with someone after her.

I loved Luke he was so understanding when Adria said she wasn’t ready for him to mate her. He was able to stay in control and keep his wolf in check. My heart did hurt for Adria for a second the way Luke reacted when give news by his pack leader. I also loved seeing the bond Adria and Luke’s sister have. Even though, she is Luke’s big sister it is like she is Adria’s little sister. Adria is always protective of her and looking out for her best interest.

I received a copy of the audio of this book from the author.

I read this book a few years ago.  I fell in love with these guys and Ariel. It was fun to listen to the audio.  I forgot so many little things I was nice to be reminded.  The narrator, Melissa Schwairy , was very good. I felt like I was right there in the book. I didn’t want to push the pause button when my real life needed attention.

Here is my original review:

So when you are on a road trip with your BFF and she starts to read this book to you while you drive stating you just have to read. Well you listen to her and let me tell you she was right.  I am hooked on this series.

Ariel Kimber has not had an easy life mostly thanks to her mother. Her mom abuses her and has men going in and out her door like people going in and out a revolving door. Her mom meets a man and uproots her to a strange town and new school with no friends. The hurt doesn’t end there being the new girl at school proves to be difficult especially when the town knows her mom’s rep.  When she meets her neighbor’s things start to change for her.

Tyson lives with his Uncle Quinton and twins, Able and Addison.  Ariel becomes fast friends with Tyson but she is leery of Uncle Quin. These four are keeping a big secret from Ariel and she has no idea how much she has in common with them or why she is drawn to them.

The connection these guys and Ariel have is off the charts. The surprises and twists Mary Martel puts in this one has me wanting more and more as I read. The characters are different in their own way and I want to know everything about each one..yes, even Uncle Quin he is so brooding and mysterious.

I am so glad my partner in crime made me listen to this one.  I am hooked and so ready for the next book.

#WOTR23 #Review – ICE (Sin City MC) by: Michel Prince

60847742. sx318

The members of the Sin City MC never leave before all the cards are played.

Being a wild card is par for the course for the Sin City MC’s Maxwell ‘Ice’ Winter. The current Road Captain is tasked with getting the men to their location and back again safely by knowing the back roads, law enforcement traps and safe places to tuck away if danger arises. What he’s not sure of are the five-year-old twins dropped suddenly into his care. While he’d been fighting with their mother for more visitation his life isn’t set up for full time daddy duty. And a score needed to be settled with whoever took their mother from them.

Bree Stanton is like most in Vegas, a transplant. Thousands of miles away from her family in Georgia she missed the old neighborhoods. Generations of people leaving, only to come back. There was no old lady sitting on a porch with the latest gossip. Instead she was met with people confused by her wave at the mailbox, shutting doors to her. All, but one, with a set of adorable twins making her feel like family. When the kids wander to her house because mommy won’t wake up she’s pulled into a world of chaos. One the woman used to the certainty of mathematics is unsure she can handle.

Between Ice’s need for revenge, the threat of the murderer returning and want to protect the littles calling her Auntie, Bree has to remember adrenaline fueled romances never work. Will her logical and cautious nature short her heart of a man worth taking a chance on? And can Ice settle his affairs and teach the first woman to break through his cold heart what it means to be claimed by Sin?

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased this book.

This was a great intro to the Sin City MC. I so enjoyed Ice, the MC guys, and the story line. Most of all the connection between Ice and Bree was great.

After the death of his twin’s mother, he is determined to take care of his kids any means necessary. However, there is Bree the neighbor is also determined that she will protect them any means possible.  Even in that means leaving her home and stepping into the MC life to protect them. Ice is the Road Captain of Sin City MC and can navigate any map but he is having difficulty navigating Bree.

Bree is an only child and moved away form home to build her own life and follow her dreams but she still wants to make her parents proud of her. Sometimes her dreams and her parent’s expectations clash a bit.

This book pulled me in and I have to say even though Ice could be an ass he did take up space in my heart. There was some good twist that I didn’t see coming. The chemistry was great to see between Bree and Ice. Those twins where pretty great too I wouldn’t mind seeing what those two were up to in their teens and older years. Ice will have his hands full that’s for sure.

The connection we share has always been bigger than both of us.

Katiana

As a girl, I craved Ryder Evans. My every desire was about him. My every fantasy revolved around him. In his eyes, I was a teenager, a daddy’s girl. Way too young. I vowed that when I grew up, I’d make Ryder see me as a woman. But fate cruelly took him from me. Now I’ve lost my father, too. While performing my final solemn duty to him, I crashed during a blinding blizzard. I expected to join Daddy in the afterlife. Instead, I woke to find my rescuer—a burly, bearded mountain man who ignites me as only Ryder ever did.

Ryder

Four years ago, I left cage fighting and civilization because I had too much blood on my hands and too much darkness in my soul to risk destroying the only female I ever loved. If I hadn’t, Katiana would have guessed how badly I ached to steal her innocence and make her mine, though it was forbidden. Now that’s she’s crashed into my life again—and all grown up—can I convince her heart to take one last chance on me?

Ryder was a cage fighter but not only left the fighting world but left everything to live a life of solitude.  Ryder was in love with Katiana also but she was too young for him at the time so he had to leave her behind also.  Katiana just lost her father and was making a trip out to his cabin. Imagine her surprise finding out the man that saved her was Ryder. The man she was in love with and thought was dead for several years.

I loved this quick read. It is a great second chance love story. The chemistry between Katiana and Ryder was explosive.  They both have pasts they need to face and move on from to make a future for the both of them.

I received a copy of this audio book from the publisher via NetGalley.

I was so excited when I received this audio book because I loved this story so far and needed to know how it all ends.  I have to say I don’t think I could ever get enough of Kash and Bailey.  The narrators, Emma Galvin and Joe Arden, were amazing also their voices captured each character perfectly. Between the story line and the voices of Emma and Joe I didn’t not want to stop this book at any time.  I had to keep going to find our what was in store next for Kash and Bailey.

My heart was breaking for Bailey at the beginning of this. Losing her mother was heartbreaking but having to watch her mother being murdered was horrendous. With everything that this woman has went through was awful to say the least. I loved Kash for his understanding of everything even of Bailey. The way he supported her, loved her and most of all new what she needed to overcome all this made my heart beat a bit faster for him.

UHG the secrets that this family held and didn’t let out had me on the edge of my seat. Really the twists and turns never stopped. Once you figured out the players and what may happen BOOM everything changed. There were plot twist after plot twist.  There was always something lurking waiting to come out and blow everything you thought was happening and why right out of the water.  I loved this family how they stick together and help one another even if they don’t want or need help they are always there.  The ending was the best to see how everything played out and how things ended.  Let me tell you I could never have expected how this all ended. I really don’t want to see this end.  I loved Kash and Bailey’s story but want so more. Even if it is to see what rolls the siblings have within the family.

#WOTR23 #Review – Ask Me to Stay by H. D’Agostino

The Bradshaws have owned a beach house down the coast from ours for as long as I can remember. Every summer since I was six, we’ve vacationed there.

Russell, their youngest son, was my best friend growing up. He taught me how to spit and punch like a boy. He gave me my first beer and first kiss, which was terrible by the way. We spent many days and nights commiserating together about how our parents knew nothing and were so uncool.

Casey Bradshaw, Russ’s older brother, was everything I thought I wanted in a boyfriend. He was cool, mature, and very hot. Each summer I tried and failed, to get him to notice me as more than Russ’s friend and the girl from down the beach. The last summer I was there, he broke my heart.

It’s been six years, and my best friend Aimee has decided we need a vacation. The last thing I expected was to be back at the beach. Sometimes we don’t realize what we need has been right under our nose all along, and sometimes it takes a little push and some alcohol to admit we were wrong.

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

When I set out to read this one, I was ready for the angst, drama filled, leaves you hanging books she usually writes.  I was shocked to see this was not one of those books this was a comedy and oh boy did she have me laughing.

Willow spent her time as a kid at the beach house with her family.  Her best friend was Russ the neighbor boy but she spent her summers drooling over his older brother Casey.  After 6 years she and her friend return to the beach house to relax and have fun.  With the help of an energetic dog, she is reunited with the last per she ever expected.  Her best friend that she lost contact with over the years, Russ.

These two had me in stitches their antics were too funny.  Just saying when alcohol gets involved these two come up with the craziest things. The personal memories that Willow and Russ brought back from my younger years watching their crazy antics were great. This was such a fun read. I have to say I think I loved Taco the most he even got in on the action.  HAHAHHAHAHA

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

The tangled webs we weave and oh boy did Sierra weave a web.  She had a one-night stand with her friend and then left in the middle of the night.  She held on to a secret for 3 years but when she came face to face with Mickey at a wedding things began to change. Sierra only wanted to be accepted by her mother but always fell short. She made up her mind she was going to get her degree and leave town.

Mickey is the sweetest Rock Star I have ever read.  He was determined to change his life course and not end up like his parents. Mickey had a plan and he stuck with it didn’t matter what anyone thought.  He was so great with Mia and the way he treated Sierra, swoon.  I loved when we got to see Mia and Mickey interact, they were so cute together. I also like seeing Sierra interact with the band members and their women.

Absolutely loved the entire scene of Sierra and Lance, her brother, at the truck stop. To see they had a lot in common and to have Sierra hear what Lance was saying to her was a turning point.  Sierra has 2 choices to follow her heart and do what will make her happy or follow what her parents want and be complacent the rest of her life. Although I was rooting for Mickey and Sierra to get together, I did like seeing Sierra and Austin together. Who does she choose Mickey or Austin? Does she listen to her heart or go with what her Mom wants? Both are great guys but Sierra will have to make a decision.

Where to start with this one. To be honest I was never an Isobel fan, or Romero fan, and definitely not a Finn fan. Now Rain oh yes give me more of him I want to uncover everything about him. Let me tell you after reading this I am a huge Isobel, Rain, Romero and yes even Finn fan. I have to say I saw a side of Ariel that I was not impressed with and thought she could go kick rocks.
Watching these characters develop and grow made my heart happy. To see another side of Rain and seeing his interaction with Romero and Isobel was great to see. Learning more of Romero and even having Finn open up was amazing. I had to laugh when Rains green monster came out I really loved seeing that. The whole you kissed him before you kissed me was amazing. Let’s talk about Finn I really disliked him up to this point. I really liked seeing his and Isobel relationship go from friends to something more. Seeing Finn’s vulnerability when going on their “first” date and when he meet Baxter for the first time. I really wanted to jump on the book give him an hug and tell him it will all work out.
Thing group of hot mess express will make a great coven if they every get the chance. Really they all have so many holes in their hearts and just want to love and be loved. With their extended family the Alexander’s they will be a powerhouse but they have some things to work through and overcome. There were so many feel goods in this book, like what Isobel does for the teenage boys warmed my heart. Really they all have been through so much they all need one another to watch out for each other. Mary you are killing me with this ending I cannot wait for the next book. You really changed me from a non Isobel fan to I need so much more of her, she is so complex.

A few of my favorites:

I liked this about her as well. She had a strong stomach and seemed to enjoy the gory bits. She’d fit perfectly into my life.

I might have been beautiful, gorgeous even, but I was a goddamn nightmare underneath all of that pretty packaging.

We might not have grown up together, but there was no doubt in my mind that we definitely belonged together.

Till Death Do Us Part (An Ariel Kimber Novel Book 7) by [Mary Martel ]

Ariel Kimber and her coven are under imminent threat from the Council. They are monsters, without fangs or horns, who hide behind their mantle of power, and they will do anything to get what they want.

The problem is, they want Ariel. They want her so badly that every other person around her is in danger just by being near her.

The Council forgot one very important fact though—Ariel Kimber is no victim. She’s a survivor, and the Council is stupid to think they can simply take her and destroy everything and everyone she loves.

She will do whatever it takes to keep her coven safe, even if she has to go through hell to do it. They are all more than willing to fight alongside her because she’s finally agreed to spend the rest of her life tied to them in every way possible.

They have a lot to fight for.

The goal is to make it to the other side without losing anyone along the way because they want their happily ever after.

And they want to be able to say till death do us part.

But life for Ariel Kimber is never that easy.

And it never will be.

Can we give more than 5 stars because this one defiantly deserves it.  It took me a bit longer to read this one because I wanted to savor it so much.  These guys would do anything for their Ariel and I mean anything. There was so much going on in this story that I wanted to keep reading faster to find out what was going to happen and at the same time I wanted to slow down to soak everything in.

Ariel is finally happy and in a good place with all her guys and then well let the rollercoaster ride begin. I will not tell you all because I don’t want to spoil you getting to go through it like I did.  I loved seeing all the different sides of the guys and seeing them interact with Ariel and open up more to her. Each one of them are so different and all are need to fill a place in Ariel’s heart.

There was so much going on in this one I felt about every emotion there is and I may have even cried. I love this series and I want…nope… NEED so much more of this series. I shall be patient and hopefully I will be able to read more.
