An Instant New York Times Bestseller
A Goodreads Most Anticipated Book

“Suspenseful, sexy, and with incredibly entertaining storytelling, the first in Yarros’ Empyrean series will delight fans of romantic, adventure-filled fantasy.” —Booklist, starred review

Fourth Wing will have your heart pounding from beginning to end… A fantasy like you’ve never read before.” ―#1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout

Enter the brutal and elite world of a war college for dragon riders from New York Times bestselling author Rebecca Yarros

Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away…because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother’s daughter—like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant.

She’ll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise.

Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom’s protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret.

Friends, enemies, lovers. Everyone at Basgiath War College has an agenda—because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die.

The Empyrean series is best enjoyed in order.
Reading Order:
Book #1 Fourth Wing
Book #2 Iron Flame

I had seen posts about this book for weeks before I purchased it. When one of my friends said that she loved it and I knew that this wasn’t her normal genre, I had to drop everything to read it and boy, man, gosh, am I ever glad I did.

This book was on a whole other level. I haven’t read something like this in years. The world building, the characters, the friendships, the love, the fighting, the grumpy dragons, the sizzling chemistry…man…seriously, I truly have no words.

I couldn’t read this book fast enough. I had to know what all the hype was and I knew that the book ended in some sort of way but I still wasn’t expecting that.

I haven’t felt this way about a book and world since I read The Black Dagger Brotherhood for the very first time.

The world building in this book was top notch, the originality, the heroine…I could keep gushing but trust me when I say this, read this book! I didn’t even read the blurb and went in completely blind and boy am I glad I did. I can’t say it enough but I truly loved this book and it’s now in my top 5 of favourite books I’ve ever read. I don’t re-read books often either but I’m about to jump into re-reading this to get ready for book 2 that comes out on November 7th.

Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing your world with us and I can’t wait for the rest of this series.

Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.

But if Marley is good at anything, it’s seeing the silver lining and standing up for herself. She decides to throw her Sunny disposition into the game to challenge her Admirer’s grumpiness.

The guy can’t be all that bad—he carefully crafted a crossword puzzle just for her. And as the month goes on, he shares more personal details that intrigue her.

i bought this book and this is my honest opinion
Marley is miss sunshine at Ryder High, so her nickname Sunny is a perfect fit. She is so thoughtful and generous that she brings Mr. Thompson a retired teacher his blueberry muffin top that reminds him of his late wife. So, when she was giving her first teal envelope, she thought it was a complete joke. After finding out it wasn’t she was starting to get excited then for first clue came and it was a total let down, for Marley now she was thinking her admirer, was forced into the game. will she make it the whole month, will it get better or is this the cloud that brings downs the schools sunshine.

#wotr #attendingauthor #partofaseries #YA Dear Calista (Love Notes 6) by Danielle Keil

Everyone at Ryder High knows what it means to have a teal envelope taped to their locker on the first day of the month.
The first day of August is Calista Forrester’s seventeenth birthday. Her teal envelope showed up among the gifts at a surprise party.
A party she didn’t want. Just like how she doesn’t want a Secret Admirer.
Panged with guilt, and stuck with a dead phone battery, she accepts the challenge by default.
Her clues come in the form of tickets to different places, each with a task to complete while she’s there. It’s an introvert’s worst nightmare, but at least she’s allowed to bring a friend along.
When school starts, Calista is shoved into the spotlight as the chosen girl. That’s when she decides enough is enough.
Will Calista’s decision impact more than just her?
And will her secret admirer let her give up that easily?

i bought this book and here is my honest review
Calista doesn’t like to be the center of attention all of her friends know this but that doesn’t stop them from throwing her a surprise birthday party. after the party ends and Calista is able to fall back in the shadows she never expected to be in the spotlight once again because hiding under all her gifts is the famous teal envelope, the last thing Calista thought she would ever see and now her worst fear has been unlocked being in the spotlight for a whole month. her secret admirer is making her go way out of her comfort zone and in situations that will make her uncomfortable and hopefully getting her out of her shell. will all this anxiety help Calista or have her ending this game faster than it takes for the light to turn on.

#review #partofaseries Created in Chaos (Corrupt Credence 2) by Albany Walker

I thought I’d already lost everything, but life has a way of proving you wrong

The moment I set my scuffed sneaker on Cadieux Island for College, my fate was sealed, but there’s no way I could have prepared for what was coming.

I should have run when I attracted the Morningstar’s attention, ruthless twins that lord over the elite school and everyone in it. I thought I could handle them, or at least survive them, but now it seems I might not live without them.

They demand my allegiance, loyalty and devotion, but I’m afraid I’ll lose so much more to them.

Four founding families, entrenched in secrets and deep-rooted history, are locked in a never-ending cycle for power and domination, and I just became the pawn everyone wants to use, or get rid of.

Welcome to Cadieux Island where the weak get slaughtered and only the strong survive.

Created in Chaos is the second book in the Corrupt Credence series. A dark college MFM romance told on duel POV with mature content for adult readers.

Lucian and Nox refuse to let Nova out of their sights, they need to find out who did this to their girl and why they targeted her, also what or if her grandparents played a part in the attack and what their ultimate goal is. Will Nova pick her family side or stay with the Morningstar’s’ and who is really telling her the truth about her parents and new life. ugh these characters and this world omg I just can’t get enough of them Lucian and Nox are swoon and I need book 3 asap.

#WOTR24 #Review – Simon and Trenton (An Ariel Kimber Novel Book 10)

Trenton and Simon are brothers by blood but their connection goes a whole lot deeper than just that. They grew up knowing that they’d spend their lives searching for that one special female witch it was their job to protect. Female witches were rare and they never thought they’d actually find her. But find her they did. And while protecting her they both fell in love with her. She fell in love with them right back. The problem was, she’s a stubborn little witch who’s too afraid to face her feelings head on and embrace them. She’ll run head first into danger, but face her feelings for the brothers? No way, she’s ready to run like a scared little girl. Can the brothers convince Ariel Kimber to take a chance on them or will they have to forever remain on the sidelines, protecting but never touching, what they rightfully consider to be theirs?

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

Simon and Trenton are Ariel’s body guards. Always in the background watching over her. They have a protective bond with her but they are also falling hard for her. They are given the chance to bond with her when Quinton has them go with her to investigate a piece of her past. When things go crazy for her they call in her dad.

I enjoyed that this was a book entirely about Trenton, Simon and Ariel. Don’t get me wrong I love all of Ariel’s guys but these three needed this time. I also like that they called in Rain because a girl can always use her dad when things go sideways. Trenton and Simon are so connected to her they know what she needs and who is the best to help her through certain situations.

Mary Martel was born in West Michigan and spent the majority of her life there. She currently resides in North Dakota with her husband, and her two beautiful daughters. She’s an avid reader, and when not writing she can be found with her nose stuck in a book.

#reread #BDSM #SeriesStarter – Club Shadowlands, Masters of the Shadowlands book 1 by Cherise Sinclair, narration by Noah Michael Levine

Her car disabled during a tropical storm, Jessica Randall discovers the isolated house where she’s sheltering is a private bondage club. At first shocked, she soon becomes aroused watching the interactions between the Doms and their subs. But she’s a professional woman–an accountant–and surely isn’t a submissive…is she?

Master Z hasn’t been so attracted to a woman in years. But the little sub who has wandered into his club intrigues him. She’s intelligent. Reserved. Conservative. After he discovers her interest in BDSM, he can’t resist tying her up and unleashing the passion she hides within.

Publisher’s Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, strong BDSM theme and content (including/not limited to bondage, caning, restraints, spanking, etc), exhibitionism, voyeurism.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this book.

I am a huge fan of this series.  This is the first time I have taken the time to reread the series.  I did buy the audio books so I can read them in a new way.

Master Z and Jessica are a favorite couple for me.  She is the way any person who stumbles into a BDSM club would be thinking.  Master Z is the every dutiful and kind Master explaining and pushing the little pet into trying a few things.

The book is a great introduction to the Masters of the club and the world any fan of the series fell in love with.

A New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she’s renowned for writing heart-wrenching romances with laugh-out-loud dialogue, alpha males, and absolutely sizzling sex.

I met my dearheart when vacationing in the Caribbean. Now I won’t say it was love at first sight. Actually since he stood over me, enjoying the view down my swimsuit top, I might have been a tad peeved—as well as attracted. But although we were together less than two days and lived on opposite sides of the country, love can’t be corralled by time or space.

We’ve now been married for many, many years. (And he still looks down my swimsuit tops.)

Nowadays, I live in the west with this obnoxious, beloved husband and a seventy-pound lap-puppy. I’m a gardener, and I love nurturing small plants until they’re big and healthy and productive…and ripping defenseless weeds out by the roots when I’m angry. I enjoy thunderstorms, collecting eggs from the chickens, and visiting the local brewery for the darkest, maltiest beer on tap. My favorite way to spend an evening is curled up on a couch next to the master of my heart, watching the fire, reading, and…well…if you’re reading my books, you obviously know what else happens in front of fires.

#WOTR24 #SeriesStarter #Audiobook #Dragons #Brides #Human #FatedMates – Crux, Dragon Brides #1 by Kate Rudolph, narration by Jonathan Waters

Prince Crux is in a bind.

She’s got a pair of roller skates and an attitude.
Courtney is supposed to be putting the shambles of her life back together. Getting abducted by aliens isn’t part of the plan. Neither is getting rescued by a scorchingly hot dragon that makes her think of an impossible future. But they have no chance together if they can’t first escape a planet full of monsters intent on their destruction.

Fated mates, fierce women, and dragon princes are ready to find their mates in the new Dragon Brides series from Kate Rudolph.

Review by Twinsie Angie

I grabbed this audiobook for free on stuff your audiobook day in August/September from Google Books.

I am a sucker for a good novella.  I am a sucker for dragon stories.  Give me both on an audio and I am SOLD!!!

This story was super quick and of course instaloveish.  If you are grabbing a novella you know this so I was ready.  I will so I did enjoy the banter initially with Cruz and Courtney.  He shows up on the planet looking for his mate that the dating agent told him would be there only to discover she is human with weird rolling things she carries around.  She is feisty and not putting up with him at all.

Courtney wakes up not in her apartment and not thrilled to discover she was kidnapped with her roller skates on.  What is a girl to do!!

The story was good. We see the reason why Cruz was looking for his mate.  We see him struggle with accepting that a human is his person.  We see Courtney falling hard for the dragon prince and not happy she will be letting him go.

I do feel a little bit let down at the end. I enjoyed the couples story but I wanted maybe one more chapter to see them together on his planet…ya know see how it all shakes out in the wash.  But I did download book 2 and am diving in.

I love writing about kick butt heroines and the steamy heroes who love them.

#BookPromo – Target Acquired: Volume 6 of the Don’t Close Your Eyes Series (Don’t Close Your Eyes – A Slow Burn Enemies to Lovers Series) by Lynessa Layne

Klive King warned me he was complicated. He drew me in, then pushed me away. He insisted a relationship was dangerous. I learned the hard way how right he was.
We fanned the flames of passion and ignited an inferno against us, but they greatly underestimated the lengths I’d go for the man I love.
