An epic ending to an incredible series! I dove into this story expecting loose ends to be tied and the story coming to a close. What I didn’t expect was the intensity of the story. It was crazy awesome! The truths finally come out! It has taken me a while to get my words together for this review because I can’t stress the epic-ness (lol! told you I was struggling) of this series. The journey that Shay takes will really make you relate to her. She has been controlled and manipulated for as long as she can remember and has gotten sick and tired of it. As the series went along she has been realizing she is strong but with Bold Strokes the strength really comes out. She turns into the strong and independent woman that we all want to be. Then we have all our favorite guys in the mix, Aiden and Eli, Carl and McNab, Gabriel and Cullen. These guys all add the necessary roughness that we come to expect from the Bella-verse. The push and pull of these characters in this world is written perfectly. I have gotten so attached to the characters, well, because we all know someone like them, and I wasn’t sure exactly how this was going to end. I mean, the ultimate questions arise….Does she stop the Specter? Who else is gonna die? Who gets the girl? OMG! YOU MUST READ THIS BECAUSE THERE ARE NO SPOILERS HERE! The whole journey has been breathtaking, skin crawling, funny, sad, with failures and so many strengths. But most important are all the twists and turns that absolutely keep you on the edge of your seat constantly trying to figure the angle out. It’s about figuring out that you ARE going somewhere even if you don’t know exactly where you are going. Oh the madness! An absolute must read! Kudos to the author, Bella! Girl, you rocked this!

#Contemporary #NewRelease #Review Inked Memories (Montgomery Ink book 8) by Carrie Ann Ryan

The Montgomery Ink series by NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues when the final Denver Montgomery sibling refuses to fall for his brother’s former flame—the company’s new plumber.

Wes Montgomery watched his entire family fall in love, and now finds himself ready to settle down. Except the one person he seems to find chemistry with is not only his twin’s ex, she also works for Montgomery Inc. But when the two find themselves in one compromising situation after another, Wes realizes he’s having second thoughts about the dynamic woman who’s burst her way into his life. Sure she sets off his temper, but she also makes him hot in every other way possible.

Jillian Reid never loved her best friend like everyone thought she should, so she pushed him away so he could have his future. Now, despite fighting it, she finds herself attracted to the one man she shouldn’t. When her father’s health takes a turn for the worse, and a danger no one saw coming show its face, she’s forced to turn to Wes for help. The two of them have fought off their attraction long enough, and each cave to the desire. But this enemies-to-lovers tale might have an ending no one ever dreamed of.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

I was both sad and excited to start Wes and Jillian’s story. Sad because Wes is the end of the Denver Montgomery family; the start of it all, excited because we will soon be starting on a new branch of the family,
Wes and Jillian have had a heck of a start. Jillian is the Montgomery Inc.’s new head plumber, her best friend and ex “friends with benefits” is Storm Montgomery, who is also one of her new bosses.
Wes has a hard time understanding the relationship between Storm and Jillian. How can they be so friendly after ending their relationship? How is she so friendly with his new fiancé? Why do he and Jillian do nothing but fight and why is he so attracted to her?
Jillian is super excited for Storm and Everly, yes they were a thing, but they weren’t really together. She also is busy with her new job at Montgomery Inc and taking care of her father, but she decided that it’s time for her to find her happy like Storm and Everly have found theirs.
Wes and Jillian are so attracted to each other, thus the fighting, and neither know what to do about it. It’s crazy!! Lol
They decide to stop fighting it and go for it and boy do they go for it. Wes and Jillian are perfect for each other and now that they decided to try to be a couple the realize that the fighting was just fore play and they are perfect for each other.
There are lots of things going on in this book that keep you reading. Wes is jumped, there is lots of mysterious break ins and vandalism at a new job site, a death, a Montgomery Family Reunion, the feels are all over the place and it’s great.
Ryan could not have ended this branch of the Montgomery family on a better note or with a better couple.

#Review – Children Shouldn’t Play with Dead Things (Dead Things #1) by Martina McAtee

Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things (Dead Things, #1)

17 year old Ember Denning has made an art of isolating herself. She prefers the dead. She spends her days skipping school in old cemeteries and her nights hiding from her alcoholic father at the funeral home where she works. When her own father dies, Ember learns her whole life is a lie. Standing in the cemetery that’s been her sanctuary, she’s threatened by the most beautiful boy she’s ever seen and rescued by two people who claim to be her family. They say she’s special, that she has a supernatural gift like them…they just don’t know exactly what it is.

They take her to a small Florida town, where Ember’s life takes a turn for the weird. She’s living with her reaper cousins, an orphaned werewolf pack, a faery and a human genius. Ember’s powers are growing stronger, morphing into something bigger than anything anybody anticipated. Ember has questions but nobody has answers. Nobody knows what she is. They only know her mysterious magical gift is trying to kill them and that beautiful dangerous boy from the cemetery may be the only thing standing between her and death.

As Ember’s talents are revealed so are the secrets her father hid and those in power who would seek to destroy her. What’s worse, saving Ember has put her cousins in danger and turned her friend’s lives upside down. Ember must learn to embrace her magic or risk losing the family she’s pieced together.

First, this cover! I mean, who wouldn’t check the book out with a cover like this?! Second, the premise of the book promises lots of supernatural and ghouls alike! I mean, duh! YES, PLEASE! I have not read a story like this before. It definitely takes the paranormal world to a new level. This story is hilarious, witty and a bit on the morbid side in a fantastical way. Ember is just a teenage girl who is trying to get through life. She has had a terrible childhood and when her alcoholic father dies her world really does turn upside down. Her life goes from complicated to unrecognizable. There is a huge amount of characters ranging from our softies to the baddies. Most have a supernatural ability. And when they are all put together the story explodes! Naturally we have many secrets that are going through the process to be revealed but most truths come with more questions. Ember is really just trying to figure herself out and when she finally finds where she is supposed to be she isn’t sure if she can live up to what everyone expects her to be. She is drawn to the dead, like a moth to a flame, and she has no idea why. What I love about this book is how the story comes to life. The author does an incredible job with bringing all of the characters into play and giving them all a voice. We get to experience the monsters, illusions, redemption, fear, doubt, jealousy….just all the feels! This is absolutely one of my new favorite books. In fact, when I finished the book I went right out and purchased the second because I HAD TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! And I was not let down in the slightest. Trust me, you need to read this!

#Review – The Dark Forest: The Revelations of Oriceran (Soul Stone Mage #2) by Sarah Noffke

The Dark Forest: The Revelations of Oriceran (Soul Stone Mage, #2)

The Kingdom of Virgo has lived in peace for thousands of years…until now.

Azure’s world flips when she discovers her father is the emperor of Terran. Wait…was the emperor.

Now the two are prisoners in the Land of Terran.

Azure must escape and locate her mother’s soul stone. The virus that stole the queen’s magic is going after her very life, and the soul stone is her only hope.

Azure must save her mother. Create alliances with savage beasts. And win her people’s favor to keep the crown.

However, Princess Azure now has a taste for adventure. If being queen means she must sit on a throne, then to hell with that.

Welcome to The Revelations of Oriceran.

A magical world tied to Earth, and nothing like it.

*NOTE: There’s cursing in this book because these witches and wizards are just rude like that. If cursing isn’t for you, then this might not be for you.

Goodreads

What is going to happen next?! That is the question. Azure and her father, who is human and was the emperor of Terran) are imprisoned for treason. Azure has to find her mother’s soul stone or her mother is going to die. In the first book she made some new, quirky friends on her quest through the Dark Forest along with her best friend Monet. With the help of these guys she and her father are able to escape with her mother’s soul stone. Now the next part of her journey begins. Along her travels back through the Dark Forest she is foraging new alliances with other unlikely groups. She is faced with immense amounts of diversity and her true colors are shining through. She really is someone that wants to help all peoples and creatures of her planet but she wants to be proactive. Watching all of these characters develop has been amazing and quite inspirational. The characters definitely have their own personalities and each of their quirks have made this journey so much fun to follow. Monet, by far, has to be one of my favorite characters in this series so far. He can be such a baby but is super witty and really does have Azure’s best interests at heart. The banter with Monet will keep you laughing and rolling through this amazing adventure!

#Review – Forever Cursed (Never Ever Series) by Sarah J Pepper

Forever Cursed (Never Ever Series)

Captain James –

Peter may as well be imprisoned on Neverland with us for he consumes Miss Bell’s thoughts, stealing her away from me. His retaliation is a constant threat of which we cannot escape. Even so, that pathetic excuse of a man is the least of my worries. Corrupt and vile creatures rule this tiny spit of land, brought here by fairies, by Miss Bell.

Whether she admits it or not, she needs my protection. Yet, I catch her glancing at my severed arm with pity in her eyes. She thinks of me as weak, injured, and any number of inadequacies. Feck. I will not stand for it! I will protect her, even if it costs me my life.

Miss Bell –

Captain James makes no attempt to shield the darkness harbored in his eyes, like he wants me—needs me—to see what most people do. Ruthlessness. Turmoil. Devastation.

“Remember that the same hand I use to caress your delicate skin has been stained with the blood of my enemies,” he says, cupping my cheek. “Do not assume my affection for you is something others have experienced. Understood, Miss Bell?”

I understand. Hell, I am counting on it. Peter would rather see me dead than in the arms of another, and I have no intention of dying—especially not when Captain James makes me feel so alive.

Forever Cursed is the second story in this dark and twisted fairy tale series. It goes along the premise of Peter Pan but with an intense desperation for vengeance. Captain James Hook and Miss Bell have come back to Neverland, a place where bad people are trapped. People Miss Bell brought to the island. Peter is absolutely obsessed with Miss Bell in a bad stalker-ish kind of way. Captain James is hurt as his hand has been cut off. But both are hell bent on protecting the other. Neverland is jam packed full of Bell’s past and everything seems to be creeping up on her. This is an insanely intense book. It’s full of passion, corruption, greed, and violence. This is about finding your true and perfect love and coming to terms as to how deep it runs in your heart and bones. These two are like “Bonnie and Clyde”. Better to be on their good side than on the bad side. I have a feeling Bell’s past is going to end up the bad side. This story is incredible!

#REVIEW – Ganging Up On Her: MMF Bisexual Menage (Best Friends to Lovers Book 6) by Kat Crimson

ROCK N’ ROLL IS A TAG TEAM SPORT…
One night of extreme temptation, at the hands of five red hot alpha bad boy rockstars in the making has Maya squirming in her skimpy party clothes.

~ MAYA: FOSTER AND MAX SET ME UP! I had no idea that invitation to ‘come’ back stage was meant in the biblical sense. But it turns out my lovers are keen to watch me fu@k the whole band!

And I’ve got no clue what to do or how to feel about it. I mean, what would you do if your two lovers tempted you with all of that rock hard man candy?

How the hell am I supposed to resist their sugary sweet advances? Should I even bother, now that I’ve got the green light to swing around from man to man like a bonobo monkey on Spanish Fly?

I am so torn, and oh so tempted…

Twinsie Jo’s Review

I didn’t think these books could get any hotter but clearly, I was wrong. So very wrong. These stories are short, fun and insanely panty melting hot.

Maya is obsessed with sex. Foster and Max have opened up something inside of her and she can’t wait to get more of it. And wow…does she ever get more of it. That whole limo scene. Just delicious.

I do suggest reading these books in order and now that winter is coming, these stories will be sure to keep you warm on a cold blistery night.

#NewRelease #Contemporay #Review House of Payne: Max ( HoP Book 6) by Stacy Gail

TRIGGER WARNING: This book contains flashbacks of violence and drug abuse, and the impact of these factors on family members. If you have issues with these elements, this book is not for you.

Chicago’s premiere tattoo studio, House Of Payne, is across the street from the Mad Cow diner, but it might as well be on another planet as far as waitress Paradise Simone is concerned. She’s a good girl from Waukegan with a past she’d rather forget, and a future that goes only as far as the next day. What does she know about superstars and paparazzi?

But Pari does know danger when she sees it, and tattooist Max Kulagin has it written all over him. A proper Waukegan girl should know to steer well clear, but she can’t resist Max when he leaves beautiful, intimate art sketched out on cheap diner napkins.

Beautiful, intimate art…of her.

Max knows ugliness. He was born in it. Raised in it. Had it shoved down his throat every goddamn day. So when he stumbles across true beauty, he worships it. There’s a deep sensuality in the waitress who likes to suck on her pen whenever he’s around, and he’s just the man to bring that beauty out in her. She might be a lady in the street, but one look at Pari tells him she’s going to be a freak in the bed.

And in the shower.

And while he’s driving with her head going to town in his lap.

The life Max leads might be in the spotlight, but it’s Pari who gets caught in the glare. When her past catches up to her, it’s her life that holds all the excitement, and not in a good way. But there’s no force on earth that can take Max’s beautiful Paradise away now that he’s finally found it.

***This standalone, mildly erotic contemporary romance contains a woman with an oral fixation and a man who’s happy to encourage it. There are multiple sex scenes that include oral sex. No cheating, no love triangles, no cliffhangers. HEA guaranteed. Due to adult language and sexual content, this book is not intended for people under the age of eighteen***

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

Sooo, Max is probably some I’ve been waiting forever to read it seems, ever since he started talking to Essie in Steele’s book!!! I knew what I thought he was going liked from his first words and I’m glad to say he was so much MORE!!!! I also had pictured who he was going to look like, hello Josh Mario John!!!
Pari, she is someone who has been through some deep s**t, but she didn’t let that break her. She is someone that has become stronger than even she knew.
Pari works as a waitress at The Mad Cow, love the name, a diner across the street from the House of Payne shop. Max has been coming to the diner for a month and during that month he has left her little drawings on napkins. Sometimes funny drawings, sometimes drawings of her, and sometimes very naughty drawings of her.
As you can tell from the drawings that he leaves her, Max is a artist. He is one of the premier artist at the House of Payne, the top tattoo shop in Chicago if not the world.
I love how easy these two seem to come together it seems almost effortless, but let’s face it, it wasn’t. Max has spent that month falling more for the girl with the purple hair and killer butt than he has for anyone else and Pari has spent that month secretly keeping his drawings and falling for him too.
When her past comes back to haunt her Pari thinks about leaving the city to be safe, but after hearing about her past Max vows to do everything in his power to make sure she is happy, safe, and staying by his side where she belongs.
I don’t think I’ve ever smiled so much while reading a book, not laughed just smiled because these are two characters that I can plainly see in my head and having a picture of Max in you head is a good thing!!
Gail did a wonderful job with Pari’s backstory, showed how you can overcome anything, if you have people that love you and you can trust at your side. She also wrote about the family that they have in the epilogue and it seems that Max and Pari get everything that could possibly want to make them happy.
I can’t wait to meet Tag in the next House of Payne story, I just know it’s gonna be a good one.

Instead, the relief is almost instant. No longer will I feel like scum because my heart lies with him—My Noah.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:
Holy balls on a cracker!
Elena M. Reyes and N. Isabelle Blanco are back and hotter and more intense than ever. Our poor Ivy and Noah are still being tortured and tested. The captor is having fun breaking them and molding them into her own little puppets. I love this insane little series but I really enjoyed that you got to see more of Noah and Ivy’s past in this book and how they actually met.
This book is hot. Insane. Delicious. Dark dark and more dark. Now that we possibly know who the captor is, I’m excited to see how Ivy and Noah will make it out of this situation.

#REVIEW – Drunk On You (Hope Town, #4) by Harper Sloan

It was supposed to be fun.
A mutual use of each other’s bodies.
To be a ruse to the world around us.

I wanted to be free from my ex, and he wanted to escape his.
One drunken night turned a joke into a life-changing moment.
He warned me not to fall for him, and I should’ve listened.

He intoxicated me.
He made me crave him.
He ruined me.
In the end, I’ll never be the same.

Welcome back to Hope Town – Book 4 will feature Nikki and Shane 🙂

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

I remember when I was reading When I’m With You, book 3 in this series, and I was telling Harper that she needs to delve deeper into the BDSM lifestyle. With Nate being as dominant as he was, I told H that she would be really good at writing a BDSM story. Well holy moly, was I right!

Shane is a dominant man in every delicious way possible. He needs to be in control after having it taken from him so many years ago. He just needs it every aspect of his life. Whether it be personal or business, he has to have…well…control.

Being a dancer at Dirty Dog, he finds it hard to do what he loves but also find a woman who would be fine with him dancing for a bunch of women. Insert crazy psycho ex here.

Nikki, oh Nikki. She could very well be my favourite heroine of Harper’s. She doesn’t swear since she’s a teacher and makes up funny sayings instead. My kind of girl. She’s fun, awkward and has no filter at all. Again, my kind of girl. She could be my best friend.

This poor woman has an ex of her own who doesn’t take no for an answer. He doesn’t get the hint. And when Shane shows him who Nikki actually belongs to, my heart melted. In fact, my heart melted all over the place with this book.

This story brings us back to my favourite fictional town and I find myself never wanting to leave. Harper brings us love, pain, friendship with a dominating delicious twist.

Shane is nothing like her other heroes but he loves just as hard and fights for what’s his. Fantastic job, Harper! This is by far your best work to date! xx

#WOTR18 – #Review – The Veiled Path to Destiny by Jolanthe Aleksander

The Veiled Path to Destiny

If she had never been at a crossroad before, Daria found herself at one now.

With one foot in the distant past, the other remains firmly entrenched in the present. Daria tries to come to terms with the memories of her previous life as they inundate her mind on an endless loop. Can she deal with the past and find a way to walk the path that is laid out for her future? Is she brave enough to face her destiny, or will she walk away?

Iauron has his Queen back…or does he? His is aware of Daria’s lingering doubts about him as she tries to retain her humanity in the face of remembering and accepting who she once was. Though the main threat to her life is temporarily incapacitated, he knows it cannot, and will not, remain that way forever.

Not fully Verisiel nor Daria, is she strong enough to meet the coming threat head on? Can she come into her powers and stand by his side? Can he let her go if she cannot accept the whole truth of her situation?

Big questions remain with few answers in sight, and time is running out.

Goodreads

An amazing heartfelt book. This story is about the illusion of time and how this luxury can be easily taken away. Daria has been whisked away to the fae realm. She has been told she is Veriseil, the fae queen and she struggles with this day in and day out. She has always been an independent woman and feels like she is drowning in this new world and life. She has no say in this and it wrecks her emotionally. Iauron, the fae king, is ecstatic that he has found his queen. But how does he show her that he loves Daria and not just Veriseil. There is a delicate push and pull between the characters that becomes intense at times. And low and behold…the bad guy is still out there and will stop at nothing to bring down the fae queen. And what happens when you mess with fate? Karma comes back tenfold to all involved. This is truly a wonderful story of true love….and new love. A beautiful follow up to Beyond the Veil of Whispered Dreams. I can’t to see what Jolanthe Aleksander comes up with next!
