TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Jaq with a Q by Jettie Woodruff
Jaq and Oliver
A LITTLE WEIRD BUT SATIFYING
4.5 STARS

This story is not really what you think it to be, at first. It’s angsty and dark. It’s heart wrenching and frightening. It’s even pretty damn comical at times. Jettie sure can write the crazy characters to a tee. Makes ya wonder, is she maybe just a little coo coo herself? Bwahahaha!

Jaq is a total freak! She’s got some major hang ups and she’s not open for suggestion, AT ALL! She makes a phone call one day that will change her life forever. Little does she know that her pathetic little life is about to be uprooted and displaced. I love her antics and the way she handles her animals. Her heart is pure, but her head is in serious need of rearranging.

Oliver is one of those kinds of people that is in constant movement. He can’t not be doing something. Even if it’s just his brain doing the moving. He never seems to be content with where his life is going or what his next job will be. So, when a wrong number comes in and intrigues him, he can’t help but follow up on the mysterious girl who needs a hitman!

The supporting character cast is pretty small. Oliver’s brother Silas is pretty much it! He’s a pretty funny manwhore that Oliver seems to need from time to time even though Silas seems pretty intent on shutting Oliver down at every turn. A few more, but nothing worth mentioning.

This book was weird in a good way. I found myself staying up late to finish it. Jaq and Oliver’s characters are pretty commanding and made me drop just about everything to follow their lives. There was plenty of tension and a massive amount of angst right up until the end. I would say I’m looking forward to Grayce With an A Y but I’ve heard that Jettie isn’t going to write that anymore. In fact I’ve heard she’s not even going to write under the name Jettie Woodruffanymore. Hmm… not sure but from what I gather, she’s happy about this and this is a good thing… We’ll see! I’m not making any judgment calls just yet.

TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW

Sex Snob by Elizabeth Hayley
THE BEST DICKING I’VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!!!!
Amanda & Shane
5 Stars!

Just finished this little whopper a few hours ago. It packs quite a punch and is filled to the rim with sexual tension, ample humor, and the best damn character cast I’ve read in a long time. The subject lines are not too heavy, but hinting at more intense feelings to be revealed later. It’s definitely one you all need to put on your TBR list like right quick and in a hurry!

Amanda was utterly spectacular. I loved her from the very beginning and why not? She’s gorgeous, smart, talented, and all around one of the best damn female leads I’ve read in long time. She made me laugh out loud more times than I can count. With that said, she also made me want to smash her face in a few times too. I loved that she was Lily’s roomie from the previous book Pieces of Perfect so we got to read about Lily a little bit too. I’m so looking forward to finding out who the man is Lily’s been going to see. I think I know, but I’ll wait till the next book comes out to see for sure! Now Shane, he’s one hot piece of ass! He was always straight forward, no fooling around when it came to his CrossFit classes. Sometimes I couldn’t tell if he was being a jokester with Amanda or if he was being serious. Some of those comments about her body, I just wanted to kick him in the nuts, but I get now that most of that was just banter between those two. Trust me, Amanda gave it right back! He’s a very trustworthy, outgoing type of person and if I thought I’d run into someone like him at a gym I’d buy two memberships like yesterday! LOL! Great supporting characters in Lily, Steph, Danielle, Kate, Kyle, Hot Rod, and even Master Bader.

The writing style is perfect. It always gets right to the point while making you feel every emotions our characters feel. Good, bad, funny, and ugly, you name it, I’ve felt it in this book. Elizabeth Hayley’s writing has a way of sucking you into her story and making you feel like you’re actually living it. The POV is Amanda’s and by God, she a great story teller! The pacing is great and kept me interested from cover to cover. I was sad to see it end. Like I said, I was seriously into this one and it felt like I was losing a friend when I read that last page. Never fear, I’ll keep you on my Kindle always Sex Snob!

Tons of highs and lows, and one of the greatest climaxes I’ve read in a long time. It’s approximately 210 (Kindle Verison) pages long. A perfect length to get this book under my skin, take me on a wild ride, and put me to bed with a huge gin on my face! Looking forward to your next one in this series!

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

elizabeth hayley

Elizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands’ chagrin).

They live with their husbands and kids in a suburb of Philadelphia. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley’s writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: “I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind.”

Reagan
I hate him. Jude Titan is everything that’s wrong with the male sex: cocky, domineering and loaded with swagger. Oh, and did I mention he’s a Republican? Yeah, the guy’s so conservative he leans to the right when walking. And lucky me, I’m running against him for Senate. But I’ve got plenty of fight in me. A golden boy war hero opponent with a smile that leaves melted panties in its wake? Bring. It. On.

Damn, she’s sexy. Reagan Preston intrigues me from the moment I lay eyes on her. And speaking of laying…I want between those thighs. But I want to make her burn for me first. Every debate and stolen moment is foreplay for us. She claims she hates me, but her body tells a different story. I plan to win this election, but I also want to win the sharp, fiery Democrat who captures my attention like no woman ever has. TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW:

Dirty Work by Chelle Bliss & Brenda Rothert
Reagan & Jude
POLITICS NEVER FELT SO GOOD
★5 Stars because 10 isn’t an option★

This book has touched me in so many ways. It has so much raw emotion and anguish. My head is reeling, my heart is pounding and I can’t help but feel connected to these beautiful souls. Dirty Work is full of wit, sex appeal, and some serious issues. I loved it and can’t wait to shout it from the rooftops!!!

Jude Titan is my hero in every way. He’s an honorable soldier, a good friend, and the finest male character I’ve read in quite some time. His run for the Senate is anything but dull. He seems to make everything jive and when things seem to get tough, he’s the voice of reason. The calm one letting life’s bad juju roll off his back. I loved him from the very beginning!

Reagan Preston is anything but weak. She’s fighting for a position that she’s not even sure she wants. She takes the good with the bad, but you can tell she still just a woman with feelings and when her circumstances takes a turn for the worse, she takes it in stride and becomes one of my favorite female characters.

The supporting characters cast isn’t too large. It’s just enough to keep the story interesting. Reagan’s campaign manager Lexi is freakin’ hilarious. She made me giggle more times than I can count. Now the other campaign manager, Carl… well… I don’t like him. In fact he rubbed me the wrong way right from the beginning and I just couldn’t get past his jerkface attitude. There are more to this supporting cast, but I’m not ready to talk about them just yet. I’ll let you form your own opinion of them.

So, this book basically grabbed my by the neck and kept me enthralled from cover to cover. The storyline hit home for me as I’m a Republican and my hubs is the diehard Union Democrat. We always differ on stuff, but that’s life. We will continue to cancel each others vote out until I find a way to vote twice!! LOL! I’ve also worked for the DVA and Veterans hold a special place in my heart. I was glad to see so much focus on them.

The characters are powerful, the plot compelling, and the pacing fast and just what the doctor ordered. The tension is constant and the climax superb. Great book chickies!

#Review ROAR by Kallypso Masters

image

synopsis

Haunted by a tragic accident that yanked his beloved wife from his side, Kristoffer Roar Larson has been going through the motions in life. But when he meets the dedicated surgeon and humanitarian, Pamela Jeffrey, he feels an undeniable connection to her, stirring feelings he’d buried long ago. After encountering her in a compromising position on a tour of a BDSM academy, he realizes there’s more to her than meets the eye. Fascinated by her assertive alpha personality, coupled with her desire to submit and serve, Pamela intrigues him.

As Pamela shines light once more into the dark corners of his life, Kristoffer finds himself struggling between remaining in his safe and lonely world or emotionally opening himself up to a vibrant woman, who asks for nothing more than he’s able to give. Guiding her in mind-training exercises to prepare her for some future Dom, Kristoffer finds his body awakening as well. Will Kristoffer be able to close the door to his past and open his heart to the ginger-haired sprite who makes him question everything he once believed?

ROAR is a standalone novel that has some familiar secondary characters from Rescue Me Saga, but the main characters are new. You don’t have to read the series to fully enjoy this book.

kristis review

The things you will need to get through this book are: tissues, wine, and ice cream. Oh, and tell your family they’re on their own until you finish!!!

Roar is a standalone, but its characters are side characters from Kallypso’s Rescue Me Saga.
Kristoffer Roar Larson, is financial adviser to his cousin Gunner. After tragedy struck his marriage his life has been home, work, and the facility that takes care of his beloved wife.
Pamela Jeffrey, is a surgeon who goes to other countries to help in war torn areas.
She also is a Alpha sub trying to find her way.
Working together on a project for Gunner they spend more time together and get to know each other.
By spending more time together they learn that Kristoffer is the Dom to help Pamela learn more about herself as a sub and he gets to be the Dom he once was.
This is by no means a ménage story.
While Kristoffer still loves his wife, by getting to know more about Pamela as they work together he learns that he can live again since his wife Tori isn’t coming back to him, he’s just got to come to grips with the guilt he fills.
Pamela knows, as a Dr and as a woman, that Kristoffer isn’t going to leave his wife but she can love him and help him deal with the way he feels about finally getting on with is life.
Omg, the way that Kristoffer loves Tori is so heartbreaking and the way the Pamela helps deal with him and love him during Tori’s rough times is wonderful.
I cried sooo many tears during this its not funny. These three people are just beautiful inside and out. Watching Pamela come into her own as a sub, Kristoffer returning to the land of the living, and the to of them with Tori is breathtaking.
Even if you’ve not read any of the Rescue Me Saga, you have to read this story!!!!!
If this were s the first Kallypso Masters book you read, you will be hooked and have to read the rest!!

about the author

Kallypso Masters writes emotional, realistic Romance novels with dominant males (for the most part) and the strong women who can bring them to their knees. She also has brought many readers to their knees–having them experience the stories right along with her characters in the Rescue Me Saga. Kally knows that Happily Ever After takes maintenance, so her couples don’t solve all their problems and disappear at “the end” of their Romance, but will continue to work on real problems in their relationships in later books in the saga.

Kally has been writing full-time since May 2011, having quit her “day job” the month before. She lives in rural Kentucky and has been married for almost 32 years to the man who provided her own Happily Ever After. They have two adult children, one adorable grandson, and a rescued dog.

#Review Take All of Me (Second Chances Book 3) By Isobelle Cate

image

synopsis

Nothing goes according to plan.

Everything goes according to the heart.

Oliver Cray was sent to Texas to capture Denholm Holbrook, a job he thought would be easy as long as he did everything by the book and stuck to protocol. Protocol dictated that a family should be informed of someone’s death through the proper channels.

Oliver breaks protocol for one reason: Felicity Holbrook.
The first time he saw her, he wanted her.
The moment he touched her, he vowed to protect her.
But he carries a secret that can destroy whatever chance he has with her.

Felicity knows that Oliver is dangerous, not just because of what he does, but because she knows he can break her heart. Knowing that nothing can come out of a relationship with him, she avoids him. Problem is, events keep conspiring to keep them together until tragedy tears them apart.

Amidst the backdrop of death and danger, Oliver and Felicity must learn to be strong and to learn to forgive if they want to have a chance at a life together.

Omg!! This has to be my favorite book of the series!! We met Oliver Cray and Felicity Holbrook in back in book one. Felicity is Luke’s little sister that has been disowned my her mother and their father and Oliver is the agent that brought her drug dealing father in and then then dealt with him when he escaped in book 2.
Neither has been unable to stop thinking of the other since they first met, but Oliver doesn’t do relationships especially with “rich girls”, and Felicity has been hurt before so she herself stays clear too.
These two together are HOT!! Between a disgruntled drug lord trying to kill her and his jealous boss they find a way to come together and make it work.
There’s lots of action, in and out of the bedroom, and it keeps you on your toes.
Oliver and Felicity are what the other needs. For her, he is the man that’s going to stay, that she can give her heart to and he sees her for her and not her family. For him, she is the person that he can depend on, that regardless of her place in society she loves him.
Love these two so much, and it doesn’t hurt that every time Oliver talks all I can see is Tom Hardy!! Lol

synopsis

Serenity wanted to escape her past. Matt needed to finish his mission. Danger insisted on keeping them together.
Everyone deserves a second chance, right?
Wrong.
Serenity Beresford was as mean as they came. A bitch, a whore, a druggie, and any other word that could describe a good for nothing person. She was also a victim. Because of the hurt she caused so many and the sympathy she acquired from so few, she spiralled into believing that she was only good at hurting people, only good for being used and thrown away like a rag doll, only good enough to be a pawn in sick men’s games. When she decides that this vicious cycle of her life needs to stop, the repercussions of escaping hounds her everywhere she goes. Until the evil that snared her in the beginning is destroyed, she has no hope of being free.
Matt Reed is a womanizer, a man who doesn’t believe there’s a woman who can tame his heart. An undercover agent for the DEA, he returns to Windswept ahead of a drug exchange. This will be his last mission before he hands in his badge and works for his family’s conglomerate, but his plan slowly unravels at the hands of another guest in Windswept, the woman with russet colored hair and eyes that seem to peer into his very soul to see the ugliness inside.
Serenity has learned not to fall or trust any man, yet she can’t stop the attraction she feels for Matt. When the evil stalking Serenity follows her to Windswept, she has no choice but to trust him to keep her safe. It will take all of Matt’s cunning to bust the drug ring wide open and protect Serenity in the process, the woman he can’t let go.  The woman who made him believe in second chances.

kristis review

Received a copy for a honest review

Serenity Beresford, aka Cilla Williams, is someone who really deserves a second chance. Saving her ex’s son from her drug dealer and giving the authorities the means to put him away was her start, changing countries and her looks puts her on a even stronger path.
Matt Reed is undercover, but has done a lot in his past that he’s trying to make right.
These two come together at a very inopportune time, but love doesn’t always come at the best time.
I really feel for Serenity in this book, she is so sure that no one is going to love her after they find out what kind of person that she was and so she tries so hard to stay away from anyone who makes her feel anything. The pain she feels is so real that you can’t help but feel it too.
Matt is knocked off his guard the first time he see Serenity, since a woman is not want he’s looking for but he can’t get her out of his and his focus is not what it should me.
When Serenity’s past and the undercover op that Matt is on come together, it makes for a scary situation!!
These two are each other’s Second Chance and it’s beautiful to see, and it makes it even more so when you know who Serenity was and who she is now.
I excited to see who is next to get their second chance!!

synopsis

Gracie Sinclair just wants life to return to normal.

Now a widow and picking up the pieces after the death of her husband, she delves into her work, seeking a new normal, until she bumps into a handsome stranger who derails her orderly life, completely.

Luke can’t wait for the week to be over. Having built an engineering company into a multi-million pound enterprise in record time, he feels…empty. Nothing satisfies him anymore, not even having weekenders in his bed. But when he bumps into a woman—literally—on his way out of a bar, realizing she is his last meeting before he goes on holiday, his plan of staying away from relationships takes a nose dive. He wants Gracie Sinclair.

Gracie learned a long time ago how insincere love can be, so when Luke decides to become part of her life, she tosses up every obstacle to dissuade him until he breaks down her walls and makes her realize that her life can only be complete with Luke by her side.

However, something sinister from Luke’s past threatens the happiness they have struggled to find. If he concedes, he will become criminally liable and lose everything.

If he refuses, he loses Gracie’s heart…

kristis review

Received a copy for a honest review
Gracie is a widow who had a douche bag for a husband and Luke is a man whore, but that changes for him when they literally run smack into each other and he can’t stop thinking about her, though he doesn’t know her name or anything and even though she has built a walls around her after her shit marriage, they start to shake after their run in.
It’s amazing how fast attraction is for some people!!
The second time they meet, he knows there’s something different about her and it makes him want her more even when she tells him no and that she’s married. For all of his man whoring ways he’s honorable and backs off at that point, still he can’t stop thinking about her and he no longer backs off when he finds out she is no longer married. No matter how much she pushes him away, he just keeps pushing back until she lets him in and they find love within each other.
I love how strong he is for her when his past comes back to haunt them and when he thinks she is going to end them because of it, his plan is to let her have space but he’s not going to give up on them, thankfully it doesn’t come to that though because she knows he was being hurt too.
This story, like the series implies, is all about second chances. Gracie is given a second chance at love and Luke by loving Gracie is given a second chance at having a family.
Yes, like I said attraction is fast for some people, all it takes is a split second meeting to know you have found your someone and for Luke and Gracie that first crash into each other was all they needed to find the someone who would break down walls and make them want to change for the better.

#Review #ReadMyLips – Read My Lips by Daryl Banner

30130479

synopsis

*** Now Live! $.99 Release Special ***

I ran away from the glitz and privilege of my famous New York City family to this small-town Texas college to find myself. I didn’t expect to find him…

…the muscular, tatted bad-boy who would soon become my obsession.

He was broken, lost, and voiceless … just like me.

His eyes smoldered me with one look.

His touch awakened the woman inside me.

And through his lips, his perfect, plush, kissable lips, he drew out the inspiration deep in my soul I did not know was there.

I needed to believe that he could save me. I wanted him to help me find my voice at last … the voice that would set me apart from my tragically perfect family, the voice that would finally break me free …

If only he could hear a word of it.

The College Obsession Romance series centers around a group of friends and the relationships they form during their time at a small-town Texas school. They are angsty, steamy new adult novels with HEAs and NO cheating. Although they are obsession-themed romances, there are no stalkers or psychos!

kellys review

Oh my! Oh wow! Whew! Awwww! Don’t read my review… read this book! (ok, so maybe you should read my review, ha!) This is the perfect story about not judging a book by its cover. Unless you want to judge the actual book cover…then judge away because it is hawt! Read My Lips is a breath of fresh air. We are given a city girl, Dessie, who seeks some normalcy at a Texas college. She sees Clayton who is the tall, dark, gorgeous, and dangerous man we all want. She tries to get his attention a couple times and he totally blows her off. This is so incredibly frustrating but so perfect. This sets us up to find out that Clayton is deaf. They both have things they are running from and for. To see their relationship unfold went completely beyond my expectations. You follow them and want to push them toward each other and when they finally do connect, OMIGOSH! You can’t help but root for them. It’s beautiful, alluring, and incredibly angsty! Chapter 14! Just wait for it! Yes, yes and more yes! Then it just keeps coming. Perfect!

“His eyes smoldered me with just one look. His touch awakened the woman inside me. His breath drew out the inspiration deep in my soul that I did not know was there.”

“Okay, so I said yes. Something about a man like Clayton standing over me and asking … with his dark, hungry eyes and his smooth, sexy hands and his plush, perfect lips … is somewhat persuasive. Annoyingly persuasive.”

“You aren’t alone in this battle to find your voice. To find where you belong. To break free.” (this fits both of them to a T)

Ok, so enough with all my rambling and some of my favorite lines. This is where we part and you buy this book now! A super hot, angsty, beautifully written story that everyone needs to read. Thank you Mr. Banner, you have me hooked! Bring on Brant!

#Review – I Pick You by @jettie_woodruff

When I left Nashville, Tennessee, I knew deep in my heart I wouldn’t be back. I knew I would never be heard on every country music station around the world, and I would never step foot on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Cold hard guilt and responsibilities that I didn’t want forced me on a different path.
Me being responsible for an eighteen-month-old was a horrible idea. Me being a second grade teacher in a catholic school was plain ludicrous.
Life sucked, love hurt, and I didn’t know who to pick.
TWINSIE DEB’S REVIEW
I Pick You by Jettie Woodruff
Brantley & Kit & Bay & Rydell
HEY, CAN I TELL YOU SOMETHING?
5 Stars!Ok, picture this… I’m at 80%, it’s 10:00PM, the hubs looks over at me with my kindle in hand and says, “You’re gonna finish that book tonight aren’t you?” Even though I know I have to be up in 6 hours, and I’m sure I’ll be up till midnight, I look over at him and say, “Oh this is happening!” I finished it at 11:57PM… three minutes to spare. That gave me time to wipe my tears away, blow my nose, and get my ass to bed.Pretty cool story Jettie! It’s not over zealous, it’s not too angsty, and it’s definitely not too vanilla. I found it to be the ideal combination of humor, sex appeal, and charm. I loved each and every character in my own way. It does tend to lean more towards a contemporary kind of feel, but there are some pretty good sex scenes!

Brantley Johnathan Jandt is one fucked up cowboy. He starts off the story feeling so damn immature and dense. I mean do people really make a living off of singing on street corners? I’m not sure, but I knew Brantley was meant for more than just that. He seemed to be basically coasting through life without a care in the world until taking care of his daughter puts a damper on that. He changed so much that the Brantley at the beginning of the book vs. the Brantley at the end could pass for totally different characters. Wow, great transformation. Funny how life can get in your way sometimes and your course can change in the blink of an eye. Loved this man!

Kit wasn’t a character I fell in love with right away. She took some time to grow on me. I mean, who leaves their baby with an almost complete stranger to go out of the country? Kit, that’s who. She’s is by far the strongest character in this tale. And when I say she grew on me, she REALLY REALLY grew on me. I left this book with her as my favorite character. Beautiful inside and out.

Rydell didn’t do that much for me. I mean, I liked her, but thought she was kind of a bitch for most of the story. I get that she went through some bad times with another dude, but for fuck sake woman… let it go. She wasn’t a bad person, just a tad bit annoying with her constant negative attitude. And NO, she didn’t grow on me at all!

Bay Berry Jandt. I love that name. I love this kid… more than butter! I love her banter. I love her sadness… “My Mommy go?” That phrase ripped my heart out every time I read it. And since Bay says it like 50 million times… my heart is shredded. I love Phil. I love Mavis. And most importantly… I loved the love this little girl had for each one of her parents.

To wrap this up. I loved it. I loved the storyline, the characters, and the tension throughout. The dialogue flowed very nicely and the pacing was just right. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started this book, but about half way through it I knew I was going to love it. Great ending! Nice job Jettie!
