I received this book for an honest review.

This novella made my heart happy.  I absolutely love seeing Ariels relationship grow with each of the guys. This time it’s the Salt and Pepper twins.

Ariel and the guys got to experience Halloween for the first time. It was heartbreaking to find out there were some that never got to experience this holiday. It was heartwarming to see their excitement not only Ariel’s but the guys too. However, all that excitement came to a screeching halt when Able’s insecurities reared up its ugly head. I loved how Ariel handled things.

Did I say I loved how Ariel has a way of handling each of the brothers especially Quinton. This was a great short read. I am so excited to see what will happen next.

Out of his close proximity, she released a held-in breath and entered the room. Inside, she realised she hadn’t even thanked him, so as she turned back, she found he hadn’t quite stepped away either, and their faces were millimetres apart. The silence persisted, as his smouldering eyes captivated her while her knees locked for a moment too long, before she stepped back.

“Uhm, thank you and goodnight. I seemed to have momentarily lost my manners,” she managed to say.

“Yeah, same to you,” he casually countered, which had her feeling disappointed, as she had hoped he also felt that electric buzz between them, but it clearly hadn’t affected him in the same way. His footfalls headed toward his room and then they stopped.

She peeked around the corner of the doorjamb and saw him look back over his shoulder. Her breath caught at the stark picture it painted, while nothing but the fear of consequences kept her from running after him.

“Just once?” he softly asked.

She took a steadying breath, knowing exactly what he meant. “Yes.”

He turned around with need in his eyes, while she rushed out of the room and met him halfway, with her arms already stretched out.

The collision of their bodies echoed in their lips finding each other’s, while his arms encircled her. The frenzied feelings burst into chaos as she felt his tongue slither over her lower lip before he nipped at the flesh.

A yearning mewl escaped her, and the little space left between them was closed as he lifted her up and she crossed her legs around his hips. Pressing her up against the wall, their tongues danced along with their bodies as he steadily ground his hard member against her sex.
Whatever this was meant to be, she’d rather not think about, but in a few seconds of clarity, she knew this went against the code of conduct for Salexis and her personal morals, so she pushed him away.

He immediately set her down and stepped back until he hit the wall behind him.
Through the panting she found his eyes, familiar eyes she pretended to love for over a year, without realising she had done just that. 5 very suspenseful stars! Oh. My. Wow! I don’t know why it took me so long to read this but holy hell I got hooked! This story is an incredible web woven with deceit, lies, loyalty, and passion. This is one of those books that starts out with a bang and and never stops until the very, very end. An absolute page turner!

 

First, Marissa….she is about to get married and is gone on a business trip. She is planning to call off her wedding to David when she returns because she found out he has been unfaithful to her. Things go awry and she is late coming home but when she does she finds David’s dead body in their home.

 

Second, Justin….the best man is super agitated with David as he hasn’t been able to reach him for days. He goes to the house to find Marissa cradling David’s dead body.

 

From here the story gets twisted!!!!! The two are being followed, an explosion happens and people are dying all around them. A coincidence? NOOOOOOO! Just keep going….Not everyone is who they seem but can you figure out who doesn’t belong? Nope! Not ‘til the end! This roller coaster of a story keeps you rooting for Marissa and Justin but then….do you? I was so back and forth with the idea of them and exactly how this was all going to pan out that I just couldn’t stop reading. And let me tell you about the bad guys. I don’t know what was going on in the author’s mind at the time of writing the antagonists but daaaaang are they bad! Written so good but soooo bad! The story is full of heightened emotions and ends up being very evil. Full of danger with the exact right amount of passion and love. An absolute must read!

This year, things are different.
This year, Ariel’s got herself a whole new family, and they just so happen to be witches. Like her. And this year, they are making the best out of Halloween.
Unfortunately for Ariel, it’s not all fun and games for a witch on Halloween when she’s got seven boyfriends. Emotions run high, magic gets explored, and Ariel enjoys her first Halloween with her coven.

Heads up! By the time I have written this review, I have read this book twice.  Yes friends TWICE!!

So much happens in this book like our Pepper Twin feeling less than his brother.  Like our Salt Twin getting angry at his twin for upsetting their Pretty Girl annnnnd of course Quint being a dominant jackass…wait never mind I love him when he is dominant…ok an over stepping jackass because he forgets Ariel is in control of the 7 relationships…not him.

I love Quint for trying give Ariel good memories of all the holidays she missed as a child.  I also love that he goes over the top in creating these memories that generally make her wanna punch him in the face…LOL  But *Dreamy sigh* he is Quint the Coven Leader.  Taking care of his family is his job and he takes it very serious!

Abel is having an issue with missing Ariel but doesn’t know how to tell her because he feels less then the others including his brother.  The scene with Ariel and Abel fighting broke my heart because she loves him so much and he is just as insecure as she is with all this love stuff.

What scenes I loved the most : the guys feeling a bit freer to touch Ariel and them letting her know they are ready and willing for “more” *Wink* but the showdown with Dash, Quint and Ariel at the end of the book about how “ready” she is….a speechless Quinton is a rare thing!!!!

He made my heart squishy.

When Jackson gets drunk and peruses Tessa, they are both in for a up and down roller coaster of a love story.  One that neither expected. Tessa has to confront her past while Jackson is licking his wounds about his wife and daughter.  The two must confront the demons that haunt them all while trying to stay true to the person they have fallen head over heels in love with.

Returning to the Sutter family is like returning home. Seeing Emma all grown up is wonderful.

Coming homework the summer after being away at school Emma is hiding a lot from her family and when she does tell them she doesn’t tell them everything about why she came home. No one knows the whole truth but her. She doesn’t expect to find the boy of her teenage dreams has come back to town and is all grown up and looking yummy. She wasn’t looking for love, but that is what she found.

Brock wasn’t looking to find someone, he especially wasn’t looking to start dating Emma Sutter. He remembers her as a teen, and now that she is all grown up she just……….. But he knows when she finds out his secret it’s gonna be bad, heck when her dad finds out he’s gonna be dead. Why? Because Nick Sutter is his boss!!!!

D’Agostino never fails to make me cry, even if she isn’t trying too. Emma and Brock are hot and sweet rolled into one. Nick and Leah are everything they were in their story, but better as parents. When Emma has to explain the real reason she came home for the summer, her parents are unbelievably supportive of her and Brock shows what a true man is by listening and following his heart.

When she goes back to school will they be able to make a long distance relationship work? Are her parents still going to support their relationship or will her dad make it so hard for Brock that he has to quit his job? I’m not telling!!!! However, I will tell you this; if you’ve never read The Shattered Series, which is about Emma’s parents, you can totally read this book. It’s the start of a totally new series and you will not be lost. Im looking forward to the next book and I hope that Mel puts Aaron in his place.
