Review by Twinsie Kelly

Dying to find your soul mate can suck. But it can be so totally worth it!

When I first started reading I wasn’t completely sure if I was going to really like it. There was a lot of “you must believe in God,” “he has to believe in God,” etc. It’s good to believe in something. Well, I kept reading because the story was starting to get going. We are learning more about guardian angels and guardian demons. Then there is a little love triangle conflict happening. What?! There is literally so much going on that you have to keep turning the pages because if you don’t, you are bound to miss something!

Kendra is given a second chance at life but this second chance is with her soul mate… as long as she can show him love. She has one week. At the same time, she has to contend with her own guardian angel and demon, plus her family and friends.

This is an epic love story with a million roadblocks but when love conquers all evil, you never have to give up hope!

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Being honest here, I have a love/hate relationship with this story. First, I have to tell you that I did purchase and read the second book. Right out of the gate, I was a tad turned off by Rose and some of her personality toward working at the prison. She is young and naïve, and I almost disliked her right away. I was intrigued by Jagger, and you know he didn’t do the crime, but he is quite a bit of a pain. Anyhow, these two meet in the Creative Writing class and almost immediately are drawn toward each other. The relationship between these two moves incredibly fast. Some of which seems quite unreal, especially since this is happening in prison. But, as I say this, the story is unraveling and keeping my attention quite well, even though I am a smidge irritated at some of what is happening.

The story with Rose and Jagger just proves that it doesn’t matter which side of the tracks you grew up on, sometimes you just need a little trust and a little help (sometimes from the most unexpected places) to make it out on top. Again, even though I had a love/hate relationship with Defending Jagger, I am thoroughly intrigued with finding out what happens to Dallas because, whoa! I did NOT see that coming!

#WOTR #Review – Find: Project Xol (Book 3) by Audrey Kaye/Amabel Daniels

Armed with data they don’t know what to do with, Cassidy and Luke struggle to escape the invincible recruits from Project Xol. Desperate for help, Cassidy strives to locate a safe place for Luke to recover. There’s no time to fall into a false sense of security—not when she’s wanted for alleged murder. She needs to protect her father’s intel from zealous scientists and to figure out a way to avoid the law. Trust doesn’t come easily for Luke, but he must have faith in Cassidy when he’s too wounded to protect her. Even though they have limited options on the run, he hopes they’ve found an unexpected ally in a rural location. Too high of hopes, it seems, because they’re only pushed closer to law. Captured, Luke reaches out to his brother for help. But could that one call be all it takes for the leader of Project Xol to finish him? Find is the third book of the Project Series, which continues in Stolen.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

Holy, I don’t even know what to say! Book 3 starts exactly where book 2 ends. Literally….BANG!

I have no clue how these two keep going on, but they do. Luke is hurt bad and Cassidy has to get help, and fast. Zero, thank the gods for Zero, gets her on a path, and she finds a helpful hand. But even this helpful hand doesn’t last long. They have fallen into a bizarro mad scientist war and they were just innocent bystanders a week ago. Chaos is a constant and it is sucking them dry. However, everything that was before Project Xol just doesn’t seem important anymore. Their relationship is getting stronger. But they can both be their own worst enemy when it comes to their relationship. Each one, with good reason, questions their feelings because of the constant chaos. Is it real? Is it because they are constantly being hunted? Do they only need each other right now? They hardly know each other, but there is sooooooo much chemistry!!!!!!!

***small spoiler alert*** THEY KISS!!!!!!!

There is so much going on all the time. And so many twists! You don’t really know who to trust, when to sleep, can you go outside, will he kiss me again? (yes, he does)

You really should stop reading this review and just read Find. And as soon as you finish Find, skip reading my review for STOLEN because you will just need to read it too like I did. 😊

#review #suspence These Silent Woods by Kimi Cunningham Grant

No electricity, no family, no connection to the outside world. For eight years, Cooper and his young daughter, Finch, have lived in isolation in a remote cabin in the northern Appalachian woods. And that’s exactly the way Cooper wants it, because he’s got a lot to hide. Finch has been raised on the books filling the cabin’s shelves and the beautiful but brutal code of life in the wilderness. But she’s starting to push back against the sheltered life Cooper has created for her—and he’s still haunted by the painful truth of what it took to get them there.

The only people who know they exist are a mysterious local hermit named Scotland, and Cooper’s old friend, Jake, who visits each winter to bring them food and supplies. But this year, Jake doesn’t show up, setting off an irreversible chain of events that reveals just how precarious their situation really is. Suddenly, the boundaries of their safe haven have blurred—and when a stranger wanders into their woods, Finch’s growing obsession with her could put them all in danger. After a shocking disappearance threatens to upend the only life Finch has ever known, Cooper is forced to decide whether to keep hiding—or finally face the sins of his past.

Vividly atmospheric and masterfully tense, These Silent Woods is a poignant story of survival, sacrifice, and how far a father will go when faced with losing it all.

Cooper and Finch have been living off grid for around 8 years now, on his army’s buddy property away from everyone. His buddy Jake comes and visits once a year and brings enough supplies until his net years visit. but this year the date passes and no Jake, so Cooper has to do the unthinkable and go to the store for a years’ worth and bring Finch along with him. Terrified he would be out in public were someone may notice him isn’t what he wanted bit as a father he has to do what needs to be done. After being away from people except for the nosey property neighbor life is quite peaceful for them but this year feels different, and that gut feeling doesn’t go away for a while. Will Cooper be able to keep his past right where he wants it to be or will he have to face it and spend the rest of his life in jail.

One of Ryder Highs bright, smart and bubbly tutors is about to get her turn in the spotlight Wyatt Anderson got her famous teal envelope and was now this month’s “IT” girl. Which at first was difficult because she’s already on the shorter side and didn’t know what the crowd was gathered around, but the closer she got to her locker she quickly figured it out. Wyatt may have gotten her envelope on April Fools, but this was no prank, now she had clues to solve, classmates to tutor and keeping up with her life and own schoolwork. Follow Wyatt as she decodes this month’s clues and tries to figure out who the guy is while her heart starts to fall for someone who might not be behind the letters. This might be my favorite book yet (shh don’t tell Max) I loved Wyatt, her guy and their friends.
