#wotr25 #attendingauthor #twinsieforthedaykaren #review Defending Raven by: Susan Stoker

A missing woman leads the alpha heroes on their boldest mission yet in New York Times bestselling author Susan Stoker’s searing Mountain Mercenaries novel.

It’s been ten years since Rex’s wife, Raven, disappeared from a Vegas casino. Never losing hope, he even formed the Mountain Mercenaries to help find her—and other missing wives, sisters, and children. Now Rex and his fearless team are following a lead to Lima, Peru, where the rescue operation is greater than they imagined.

A day at a time. That’s been Raven’s motto for a decade. Once held captive by an elusive sex trafficker, she has an indomitable will to survive. But Raven’s not ready to leave Peru. She can’t. Not yet. Because her liberation from the barrios comes with devastating consequences. One wrong move and all hope will be lost to an unimaginable hell.

For the Mountain Mercenaries, the stakes have been raised. The threats are escalating. But Rex hasn’t searched this long, risked so much, and come this far to lose Raven all over again.

Dave aka Rex is everything you want in a hero; smart ,strong- both physically and mentally, sexy and apparently wealthy. Raven has a inner strength that most of like to think we have but few rarely do. Their story is both heartbreaking and Heartwarming .

#wotr25 #attendingauthor #twinsieforthedaykaren #review Home Team Advantage by: Abbie Zanders

When Matt O’Connell returns to Pine Ridge, he’s not the same man he was when he left. Years in the US Army Special Forces have forged his mind and body into lethal weapons.

Beneath the skills and formidable exterior, Matt’s soul remains intact—for now. He’s at a crossroads, and he’s hoping that spending time around the men who helped shape him as a teen can help him with the choices he now faces.

His mother’s new neighbor is an intriguing distraction. She’s young and beautiful and completely uninterested in him, which makes it even harder to stay away. Especially when his finely honed instincts insist there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye.

And then there’s the spark she’s unintentionally ignited in his chest. The one he never expected to feel.

But is it real? Or just what he really wants?

Home Team Advantage is a small town contemporary romance suspense – light on the suspense, heavy on the romance.

This was the perfect bridge to the second generation of Callaghans. Matt, the teenager that we fell in love with in Having Faith is grown and at a crossroads to decide his future. He thinks he has it all mapped out and then steps in Anna. As always there’s mystery, intrigue and a happy ever after but best of all is the familiar faces that make an appearance.

#wotr25 #attendingauthor #twinsiefortheday #review You’re all I need by Lacey Black

Caden

I don’t do relationships. Ever. Life is too short, and love is too painful. I’m a live in the moment kind of guy with whichever woman wants to accompany me for a night or two, and I always make sure they know the score before we ever make it to second base. It’s the only way I operate.

That all changes the moment Adrienne takes me home with her.

I’m instantly addicted. The problem is she becomes more than just a friend. She’s everything I didn’t know I needed and the polar opposite of the woman who destroyed my heart.

Falling in love with her isn’t an option.

Adrienne

After picking up my life and moving to the small town of Stewart Grove, I’ve been able to put the hurt of my past behind me. My new motto is to live for today and enjoy the ride. I’ve got a great job at the popular local hotspot, new friends I adore, and am building a life I’m proud of. I have everything I need.

Then Caden saunters up with his rugged good looks, disarming smile, and an offer I can’t refuse.

I fight my attraction as long as I can. I have to. I’m not looking to get into another relationship, but life has a way of throwing you a curveball every now and again.

Mine comes in the form of two pink lines.

Final Book in this fantastic series. It’s been an amazing journey and as much as I hate to see it end, this book finishes it perfectly. Even if you haven’t read the previous books, this one holds as an excellent standalone also.

#WOTR25 #NewRelease #Review – Guarded From Retribution (Blade and Arrow Security Bravo Team #5) – by: Gia Cobie

Guarded from Retribution by Gia Cobie

When I left the Army, I didn’t just lose my teammate, I lost my best friend.

And even though he never came out and said it, I knew I was the one he blamed.

Did we still talk? Sure. Monthly texts about nothing and empty promises of visits that never panned out. But losing Hawk—the man I admired most in the world, the man I secretly loved—felt like losing a piece of myself.

When he showed up unexpectedly to help our team with security for an event, I was surprised. Hurt that he never told me he was coming. But deep down I still hoped we could find some remnant of the friendship we used to have.

But of all the things I imagined from his visit, nearly being killed right in front of him wasn’t one of them. And as I opened my eyes to find a terrified Hawk kneeling over me, I couldn’t help but wonder if he felt some fraction of what I did for him.

Seeing Rhiannon lying on the ground, bruised and bloody, threw everything into terrifying perspective.

I failed her once already. There’s no way I’ll allow it to happen again.

After all, we used to be teammates. More than that. She was my best friend. I was supposed to always have her six. I thought I did up until the night she told the us the terrible truth—that she’d been harassed and threatened by our superior for years. And she never told us until it got so bad she was forced to leave the Army.

I should have seen how she was suffering. I should have protected her. Then again, Rhiannon never wanted to be protected. As one of the first female Green Berets, she wanted to prove herself. Stand on her own.

But even the strongest people need help sometimes. And this time, I’m not going anywhere. Because I’ll do anything to protect the woman I love.

Guarded from Retribution is a friends-to-lovers romance with a brave and intelligent heroine, a protective hero, action and danger, emotional wounds and angst, and plenty of sweet and steamy moments. No cliffhangers and a happily-ever-after guaranteed! (Can be read as a standalone!)

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I have only read 2 of the books in this series but I am all in on wanting to know more about the Blade and Arrow Security Bravo Team. I enjoyed reading Rhiannon and Hawk’s story.

Hawk and Rhiannon were best friends while in the Green Berets. Rhi held a secret to protect her team. When she left the Green Beret and the team learned of her secret Hawk took it had and personal thinking, he let her down.  Although they stayed friends and texted after leaving the team it was never the same. Rhi is now a member of the B&A Bravo Team with a few of her teammates from the Army. She is thriving and has a new purpose with her new team.

Hawk still has a place in his heart for Rhi but he pulls away from her moving all the way to Alaska. However, he is in town to help the Bravo Team with security for an event. When Rhi gets injured, he feels guilt over not being able to help her again and cannot walk away a second time. He is determined to be there for her and take care of her.

This was a roller-coaster of emotions with Rhi and Hawk trying to work through their feelings and regrets. The way Hawk is there for her now determined to keep her safe and working through his issues makes me love him. I absolutely love how strong but vulnerable Rhi is. To watch them finally make it click and see the fireworks fly was great. I do have to say I also love all the side characters in this series. These can be read as standalones as I have only read book 4 and 5 I cannot wait to go back and read the first 3 books because I have fallen for this entire team.

#releaseday #LGBTQIA #enemiestolovers – The Misfits of Copper County by May Archer

When you burn down your contractor’s home… and kind of, accidentally invite him to move into yours.
First things first, that fire was a fluke. A tragic, completely unintentional byproduct of high emotions, an ill-timed backyard grilling… and one very shirtless man.
I only meant to confront Brewer—my maddeningly stoic contractor—about a few small concerns with the renovation of my historic money pit.
Instead, I got distracted by his muscles (who grills shirtless in February, I ask you?), I tripped over my words—and my feet—and… well, my carefully-ordered life went up in flames.
Suddenly, Brewer’s living in my attic, his dainty teacups are in my cabinet, his slobbery dog is all up in my business, and I find myself renovating my whole future just as surely as Brewer’s renovating my home.
Copper County was never my endgame. Once I finish writing my article, I’m off on my next assignment. But between late night conversations, sledgehammer therapy sessions, and solving the Jam Cupboard Mystery (it’s a real thing, I promise), I’m starting to think we’re building something neither of us expected.
Because the more I learn about Brewer, the more I realize I’m not the only misfit in Copper County. And that maybe it’s time I stop chasing other people’s truths… and start writing my own.

I loved this book and this series. I loved this re-telling of beauty and the beast. Benella’s character is so relatable. Almost had a cinderella vibe with her sisters due to them acting horrible. Would recommend to anyone and especially to those who love re-tellings with twists.

#TwinsieforthedayLaura #review #Wotr25 #attendingauthor Reel Love by: Kate Hawthorne

A young brat and his buttoned-up best friend together for an unexpected and romantic weekend in Los Angeles. Is it a recipe for disaster or a chance at real love?

Archer has been in love with his best friend for years, but he’d never admit it out loud. Comparing every man he meets to the only man he wants, everyone falls short of the high ideal of Clint Taylor. On the heels of a date gone wrong, Clint ends up the last place either of them expect…Archer’s bed. There’s a kiss and another, and then everything changes.

Clint doesn’t understand some of the things Archer wants from him, but he knows he isn’t a quitter and Archer deserves the best. Determined to be the man and the Daddy Archer deserves, the two men find themselves together for a romantic and kinky weekend beneath the bright lights of Hollywood.

Archer is rich and Clint isn’t.
Clint is patient and Archer could never be.
Archer knows what he wants and Clint doesn’t believe he’s enough.

With so much stacked against them, is it too much to hope that love is the one thing that goes right?

Reel Love brings together a bratty boy, a Daddy who doesn’t know he’s a Daddy, a gorgeous L.A. backdrop, and enough steam to fog up all the windows in a high-rise hotel.

This makes the fifth of Kate Hawthorne’s books l’ve read and it’s just as amazing as the first. Though shorter than the others, the character development is on point and I love the interplay between them. Archer is in every way the brat and Clint is his perfect opposite. Great read all the way around.

Review by Polly
This is my first read by either of the authors. I love a good MC story and Ms. Prince and Ms. McCabe have delivered ten-fold! Josh (Red) Luke discovers a woman laying at the side of the road, almost beaten to death – but still surviving. His military training (medic) kicks into high gear because he will never leave a “man” behind. Once he has the women safely under his care/protection – he immediately falls for her. Beaten to within an inch of her life and left for dead, Nova has a long battle of recovery in front of her. She witnessed her friend being killed…and the killer also thought he finished the job with Nova. Now the he knows she is alive – he wants her dead and is looking for her. Nova, or Roadkill (road name) is still trying to piece her memory and life back together. Waves of memories come and go and start falling back into place little by little. With the help of Red and the rest of the MC crew she is gaining strength and confidence back. Lots of twists and turns that kept the story interesting and something I couldn’t put down. Red and Roadkill are perfect for each other. They just need to take things one day at time to see what happens next. He wants her to be his ole lady…and she is just not wanting to be a piece of property. Great storyline, good pace, awesome characters. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of this series! It is a little on the long side – but you need to realize that you are getting to know the “world and workings” of the Steel MC Montana Charter.
