When you are writing a book, which is harder? The first book in the series or the others after it?
it’s not so much the book, but always the first chapter. You have to set the scene, create the world, and introduce the key players without it turning into an info dump. It’s like dancing through a mine field sometimes!
When writing a series how do you keep things fresh, for both your readers and also yourself?
Tapping into the character’s quirks helps a lot. I mean, nobody is perfect, right? I like discovering why – for instance – the hero hates bell peppers. (Because his mom always put them on pizza when he was growing up and it tainted the whole damn pie.) Or why the heroine doesn’t trust men. (Insert a million and one reasons some smooth-talking jerk hurt her in the past.)
Writing can be an emotionally draining and stressful pursuit. Any tips for aspiring writers?
Let the emotions flow through you. Laugh. Scream. Cry. Squirm. Pant. Then grab your partner or toys, Kleenex, and chocolate when you’re finished writing the scene.
On a typical day, how much time do you spend writing?
Writing? Not nearly as much as I need to. Administrative tasks? More than you can imagine.
Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? And what makes them so special.
OMG, that’s like trying to pick a favorite child – impossible. I love them ALL!!!
What is your definition of success?
Someone telling me they love my stories.

Definitely the first because you inevitably set something in stone you wish you hadn’t and have to plot around it. LOL

I like coming up with unique and sometimes quirky characters. Nobody wants to read a rinse and repeat of your previous hero or heroine.

Never give up. Even if you have to rip out chapter after chapter – don’t give up.

When you are writing, what are some go to’s that you needs? IE Foods to eat, noise level, place to sit.
1. – Coffee. 2 – Chocolate. 3 – Whatever I can find that I don’t have to take time to cook or warm up…usually potato chips. LOL There are six people, two dogs and a cat in my house at any given time, so the noice level fluctuates from total silence to the cacophony of a Super Bowl game touchdown. I hijacked the dinning room and turned it into my office when I first started writing, so Mr. Jacob put up some french doors that blocks out a bit of the volume. But honesty, I’ve learned to ignore most of it. I had to! LOL
What are you favorite things about attending signings?
The READERS!! OMG – I love reconnecting and meeting new readers. It’s the best thing in the whole wide world!!
What author would you love to meet (Who is your unicorn author)?
I’ve already met him… it’s Dean Koontz. But I’d LOVE to meet him again.
When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?
I write everyday, seven days a week, and have an established a word count for every story that I *must* hit each day. So if I’m absent from social media, it’s because I’m struggling to hit my word count and can’t come out and play with y’all.
What is your favorite memory so far as an author?
The first time I was asked for an autograph. That totally blew my mind!
Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?
I have a 1800-something cookbook that my husband’s Grandma gave me. The pages are old and yellowed and the spine is in terrible shape, but it’s definitely my prized possession.

My go to’s are: Coffee, Diet Coke, and chocolate. (Always around 3:00 pm when I’m crashing from all the morning coffee LOL) I like quite when I edit, but when I’m writing I gotta have ALL the music. I listen to a lot of different stations either on Pandora, Amazon music, or any number of playlists I’ve got stashed away.
What are you favorite things about attending signings?
The READERS!! OMG – ya’ll are AMAZING! I love meeting new people, catching up with friends from the year before, and hugging the stuffing out of everybody!! I wouldn’t be even be at a signing if it weren’t for you guys!!

I’m a lucky lady! I’ve already met my Unicorn Author: Dean Koontz!
When you are writing, do you have a consistent schedule where you write every day at the same time or are you a sit and go on different days to get it done kinda person?
I’m a Virgo so I am a schedule FREAK! I usually set a word count for 3,000 words for the day. I don’t always achieve that number depending on L-I-F-E, but it helps me formulate release dates and helps me stay on track. Oh, look….a squirrel. (Yeah, I do that a LOT!! LOL)
What is your favorite memory so far as an author?
I have a LOT of favorite memories so far. Getting the chance to meet – in person – people I talk to on social media is always a thrill. But one I’ll never forget is the first time a reader came up to me, and asked for my autograph. I’m sure I had that preverbal Deer-In-The-Headlights look on my face. LOL
Do you have a book that is your most prized possession? What is it and why is it so amazing?
OMG if you could see my bookshelves you’d be asking: How in the world is she going to answer that one? LOL Actually, the book that I most treasure isn’t in my office. It’s in the family room. It’s a cookbook from 1847 that my husband Sean’s grandmother gave to me before she died. And I found the best Bread Pudding recipe in that sucker… OMG it’s to die for!! LOL

We return to Club Genesis with Destiny, aka Sasha. Destiny has been with Club Genesis for years and we have seen her before in past stories. She knows what she is and what she isn’t. Oh my God!! 6 awesome stories set around one Hotel in Vegas. Someone please tell me this place and staff are real because as Tina Fey’s Liz Lemon would say “I want to go to there!”. The Nyte Resort is all about making your fantasies realized and boy do they!!

This is part of another series I’ve never read called The Secrets of Stone. Once again not having read the series doesn’t lessen the greatness of the story.
Here we have 3 business partners Talia, Drake, and Fletcher. They are at Nyte for a convention for work. Drake and Fletcher are yummy and they are good little boys you like to share. Talia is attracted to both men but she keeps hearing her mother in her head telling her that it’s wrong so she’s fighting it. She also has been hurt in the past and is afraid to trust her heart.
What she doesn’t know is that Drake and Fletcher don’t just wanna have a fun time in Vegas they want a real relationship with Talia, whom they’ve come to adore while working together.

I can’t even begin to break this down except to say that each story is uniquely different. Each story you read is so amazing and the only thing they have in common is the hotel.
Jenna’s story made me crazy (In a good way) because the couple has hurdles to overcome to get their HEA.
Red’s story touches on one of my FAVORITE side characters in her very popular series. I am so hoping to see this character and his fantasy female again.
Angel’s story made me giggle because her characters are always just so funny!! I mean the woman brings the humor to her stories.
Victoria’s story made my heart beat because the female was so confused by feeling the way she did over the 2 alpha males who were very blatant in perusing the main character. These ladies know their craft and do it very well. Any small glimpse in to their writing and you will be sold and asking “what do I read first?”
Since I am a newbie to Sierra and Mari that is what I am saying, What next? Sierra’s story was so AMAZING!! I loved Cole and was like “WAIT ITS OVER”…NOOOOO !! Mari’s novella I reacted the very same way…With a shake of my head and a quick look through the library to add another story of hers to read!!!
You can’t go wrong with the series of stories and if you haven’t loved these ladies before I can promise you will after reading the anthology.
