Jack wakes up after a fall through time to save the king annnd his mistress soooo the king gives the stranger a title but no lands. Jack is in England time trying to figure out what to do and maybe how to get back to his time and life. He knows that getting an invite to the 2 week ball is probably going to drive him nuts. Having a title means young married minded woman will be looking for a husband. That is not in Jack’s cards.
Elizabeth knows alllll about time travel given that her grandmother and mother both did it. Her grandmother escaped Captain Jack and her mother fell through time to marry her father. She has seen visions of Jack but always thought they were her imagination running wild and never really thought that she was seeing the real man.
When they meet unexpectedly at the library, the chemistry was awesome. They both are intrigued and want to know more. When Jack tells Elizabeth his name and then tells her who she is…..Que plot twist….the two can’t be together!! GASP!!
When Jack talks to Alys all about her life, time travel and he learns all is not what he thought so he runs to find and claim his Elizabeth much like Mr. Darcy in the book he is reading!!
This book was one of my favorites in the series!!
