Until he meets her that is.
Eloise is nothing like the poised, elegant and controlled woman he thought she’d be. Beautiful, yes, even with a damned parrot sitting on her shoulder, but hardly marchioness material.
Even if he does find himself a little intrigued by her.

Stealing the Rogue’s Heart by Erica Monroe When underworld princess Mina Mason falls for her childhood best friend, Charlie Thatcher, their passion starts a rival gang war that threatens to inflame London. With darkness and danger at every turn, these two star-crossed lovers risk it all for love.

For The Love of a Widow by Christina McKnight After years spent following her husband as he fought against Napoleon’s troops, Lady Lettie Hughes returns to London as a widow to take her place in Polite Society as the daughter of an earl. Stolen by My Knave by Dawn Brower Jackerson Carwyn, the Duke of Whitewood hasn’t led the charmed life some believe, and in fact, grew up in the worst parts of London. Lady Elizabeth Kendall grew up on whimsical tales told by her mother. They are an unlikely match, and yet, sometimes its hard to dismiss the ties of the heart.

Taming a Savage Gentleman by Tammy Andresen Baroness Segrave needs a husband for society’s sake but she’d prefer he have no opinion at all. Which is why the Earl of Loudoun seems the ideal choice. With no fortune and a drinking habit, he should allow her to keep running her estate while living off the allowance she’d provide. But Loudoun proves to be both drunk and foolish. Suddenly a husband who is strong, capable, and appreciative of her gifts gains merit in her eyes. A man like Tom Maddox.

Scandalous Wallflower by Amanda Mariel Jane and Caleb are brought together through an unwanted circumstance and discover something neither one believed they’d ever have, but can they let go of old hurts and beliefs long enough to embrace the gift fate bestowed upon them?

For The Love of a Widow by Christina McKnight – 5 Stars

I receive this book from the author for an honest review.
Oh man!! This book was amazing. I loved the novella and the different approach of the characters. Lettie is a great heroine who has gone through A LOT in the last 6 years. She has left her best friend/betrothed, her dowry, her EVERYHTING to marry a common man. To marry a soldier. All of this against her families wishes.
Daniel was so far in his “cups” to care that his best friend was calling off their marriage. He only cared about ruining himself further in the gaming halls, with willing woman and other things. His depression and downward spiral after his father’s death left him a mess and so saying good bye to Lettie was fine with him.
6 years.
6 years later everything has changed. Lettie is not the popular debutant in the Ton from before. She is a jaded widow who has seem more death and blood shed then any one should have seen. She is lost without her beloved Gregory. He was lost to her in the war. She returns home poor, and destroyed on the inside.
Daniel has realized his life is nothing without Lettie. He let her go 6 years ago, because he was too drunk to know any better and has regretted it every day. When she returns, he will do anything to have her back.
The heartbreaking recounts from Lettie are enough for you to understand why she pushed everyone away. When Daniel opens up to what made him wake up, you want to badly for them to figure to out. Seeing Daniel open up to Lettie, I was totally swooning!! This story was a great read and I would love to read more from them in the future…maybe have them pop in to a future story would be awesome too!!
Stolen by My Knave by Dawn Brower – 5 Stars

**Claapping** AHHHHHH Captain Jack’s book! *Bootie Shaking and fist pumping* I have been so wondering about him after Evelyn’s book and now we know what happens to him.

Jack wakes up after a fall through time to save the king annnd his mistress soooo the king gives the stranger a title but no lands. Jack is in England time trying to figure out what to do and maybe how to get back to his time and life. He knows that getting an invite to the 2 week ball is probably going to drive him nuts. Having a title means young married minded woman will be looking for a husband. That is not in Jack’s cards.

Elizabeth knows alllll about time travel given that her grandmother and mother both did it. Her grandmother escaped Captain Jack and her mother fell through time to marry her father. She has seen visions of Jack but always thought they were her imagination running wild and never really thought that she was seeing the real man.

When they meet unexpectedly at the library, the chemistry was awesome. They both are intrigued and want to know more. When Jack tells Elizabeth his name and then tells her who she is…..Que plot twist….the two can’t be together!! GASP!!

When Jack talks to Alys all about her life, time travel and he learns all is not what he thought so he runs to find and claim his Elizabeth much like Mr. Darcy in the book he is reading!!

This book was one of my favorites in the series!!

#WOTR18 #AuthorSpotlight – Attending Author Amanda Mariel @AmandaMarieAuth

Amanda Mariel

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Amanda Mariel: USA Today Bestselling author Amanda Mariel dreams of days gone by when life moved at a slower pace. She enjoys taking pen to paper and exploring historical time periods through her imagination and the written word. When she is not writing she can be found reading, crocheting, traveling, practicing her photography skills, or spending time with her family.

When and Why did you start to write?

I took a creative writing class in college during which I had to write a short story. The assignment called for a YA story and much to my surprise I really enjoyed it. After the class ended I decided that I wanted to try my hand at writing a full book. The assignment was for a very short 10k novella. I also wanted to write historical not YA. It took a few years before I actually wrote my first book, but once it was done, I was hooked. My first book, Scandalous Endeavors, was published December 21, 2015.

What authors do you always read or suggest to others?

My favorite must read author is Lisa Kleypas. I devour everything she puts out. I also love Johanna Lindsey, Tessa Dare, and Sarah McLean.

What is the most surprising thing you have found out with the writing process?

That I am my own worst critic. I think everything I write is the worst and will sink my career. I seriously get a stomach ache when I release a new book. Once reviews start rolling in, I feel better though and am always amazed, surprised, and grateful for the readers who love my books. On a side note, I have trained myself to ignore the inevitable bad reviews. I remind myself that not everyone will like every book/author and then put it out of my mind.

What are you working on now?

I have several books in the works: Scandalous Liaison which is the final book in my Ladies and Scoundrels series, More Than a Lady which is my first stab at medieval romance and great fun, and a group project that has me writing a novella about twins with a touch of special power set during the sixteen hundreds.

When writing are you a pantser or plotter?

I do both. It depends on the project and how alive it is in my head. Sometimes I have a full plot and develop it before writing. Other times I have a vague idea, maybe a chapter or two in my imagination and I write them then plot the rest. Once in a while I just write and see what happens.
