#NewRelease #PromoTour #ReleaseBlitz #Contemporary #MoreThanWords More Than Crave You (More Than Words Book 4) By Shayla Black

I’m Evan Cook—billionaire tech entrepreneur and widower. Professionally, I’ve got it all. But since my wife died, my personal life has fallen apart. Remarrying seems like the obvious answer, so I place an ad. I’m not asking for much. The ideal woman only needs to be smart, organized, pretty, and helpful—both in and out of bed—without expecting romance. I never thought to look right in front of me…but it turns out that Nia Wright, my sexy, sassy assistant, just might be the perfect candidate.

After an unexpectedly hot night together, I’m ready to stop interviewing strangers and simply marry her. On paper, she ticks every box on my list. Best of all, she’s far too sensible to fall for me. I didn’t see the flaw in my logic until it was far too late. I never thought I’d lose my heart for the first time. And I definitely never imagined that she could consume me until I more than crave her. But she’s harboring a secret that could tear us apart—just as I’m finally putting myself together.

I charge down the hall toward what might be the stupidest mistake of my life.
I move through the sea of bodies, shrugging past the Latina dancer, a few of the French maids, then bump into my assistant’s handsy dance partner. I stare him down. He looks at me blankly. One thing I realize instantly? My gaydar is absolutely silent. He’s every bit as straight as I am.
As he hovers protectively around Nia’s dressing room, I snarl and shoulder my way past him.
He grabs my arm. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“To see Nia. Let go.”
His eyes narrow. “Is she expecting you?”
No. In fact, I’m about to shock the hell out of her. I don’t know if I’ll be unwelcome, but I’m going to test Bas’s theory that she wants me. If he’s right…this could get messy really fast.
I shake him off, barrel inside the room, and shut the door. Behind me, I immediately hear the asshole jimmying the knob. I throw my weight against the portal to keep him out and lock it behind me.
Nia whirls to the sound of my intrusion, dressed in an inch of stage makeup, a silky white robe—and nothing else.
The moment she recognizes me, her mouth drops open. Shock spreads across her face. “E-Evan?”
“Nia.” I can’t find more words. I can’t do anything except stare and put one foot in front of the other. I certainly can’t defuse the anger and possessiveness I know I have no right to feel.
“What are you doing here?”
“That’s my question for you,” I growl. “Why the fuck are you taking your clothes off for strangers?”
She rears back and blinks at me. I don’t think she’s ever heard me curse. I keep the office professional, totally aboveboard. But I can’t manage decorum now when she’s breathing hard and her nipples are poking her thin robe.
She raises her chin and glares at me. Everything about her demeanor is like waving a red cape in front of a bull.
“It’s burlesque, not stripping,” she snaps. “I don’t do this for money. I do it because I enjoy dancing.”
“Yeah? You enjoy that asshole’s hands all over you, too?” Even though the logical side of my brain tells me I’m way out of line, I point at the door behind me and stalk closer to her. “You enjoy sex standing up with him?”
Her nostrils flare. Her mouth presses into a firm line. “Last time I checked, boss, I don’t have to justify my personal life to you.”
The fact she’s right only pisses me off more. “You do when your behavior reflects badly on Stratus Solutions.”
She shoots me a quelling glare. “You’ll have to do better than that. No one in the audience knows who I am. I never take off my mask and I never use my real name. Nothing I do on stage can taint your reputation.” Arms crossed over her chest, she saunters closer. “Why don’t you be honest and tell me what’s really bothering you? I know you’re not this mad simply because I was dressed a little risqué and gyrated on stage with Kyle?”
I debate the wisdom of blurting the truth. The rational part of my brain tells me to shut up, leave, and act on Monday like nothing happened tonight. Every other part of me knows that ship has sailed. My cock is especially eager to lay my cards on the table, grab Nia in my arms…and not worry about what happens next.
“You’re right. I’m mad because I think you’ve fucked him.”
She jerks as if I’ve slapped her. “Not that it’s any of your business, but we haven’t been together in almost two years. Thanks for letting me know you think I’m a whore.”
Hearing I was right royally pisses me off. Having her put words in my mouth kills what’s left of my patience, stripping away anything resembling professional civility.
I try not to squeeze her arms as I drag her close. “I never said that. Or thought it. I’m telling you that I can’t stand knowing he’s touched you. I don’t like the fact you still have anything to do with him. I don’t even understand why I’m here yelling and angry. I’m just…”
How the hell do I put the storm raging inside me into words? No clue, but I need to get it all out somehow or I’m going to explode.
“Jealous?” Soft surprise crosses her face.
Something about her confusion rips the confession from me. “Yes.”
“Because you…want me?”
I grit my teeth and try again to think through the wisdom of spilling all this to her. But I can’t keep it in. The softness of warm silk and hot woman under my palms almost undoes me. “Yes. I know I shouldn’t. I’ve spent forty-eight hours telling myself what I’m feeling is ridiculous and I can’t allow this—whatever it is—into our perfectly comfortable, efficient working relationship. But I can’t turn it off. I can’t fight it. I can’t pretend it doesn’t exist.”
“Is that what you’d rather do? Bury your head in the sand and not feel it?” She looks hurt.
Her expression makes me feel like an asshole. Nia always asks insightful questions. Why should now be different?
I shake my head. “For the first time in months—maybe years—I feel alive.”
Nia stares at me in silence, her gaze fused to mine. I swear I see a hundred thoughts whip through her head. For once, I can’t read a single one.
“Say something.” If she doesn’t soon, I don’t know what I’ll do. I don’t even know if I can be responsible for what happens next.
“Have you been drinking?”
“Not enough to drown out how much I want you.”
“In spite of your opinion about my sexual past? And what about our working relationship?”
She’s not wrong, but they’re barbed questions. I have to maneuver around them carefully. “Nothing matters to me except touching you right now.”
Before Nia can chew on my answer and remember all the reasons she should say no, I pull her against me. She gasps. The instant her soft body makes contact with my hard, aching cock, I groan and hold her tighter, cupping her face and lowering my mouth to her parted lips.

#WOTR19 – #Review – Marking Her (Marked #1) by Elena M. Reyes

Marking Her (Marked, #1)

Talan wants to mark Maya—with more than his ink. The owner of a prominent tattoo shop, he’s used to being hit on by easy women. Though “easy” is not a word associated with Maya when she comes in to support her friend. Flirtation ensues, but what will it take to break the painted man.

Goodreads

Sooooo HAWT!!!!! This is a whirlwind of hot, sass, and tatts!!! We start by meeting our painted man, Talan. He is the owner of a tattoo shop and is constantly being hit on by easy women that he could take home at any time he wants. He is smitten by Maya, a girl who comes into the shop for support for a friend that is getting tatted. Maya is a small girl but takes no crap from anyone. She is witty and he is immediately pulled in by her and she by him. It’s sort of an insta-love type situation but with so much more! The wit and banter between all the characters is hilarious and keeps the story going. So full of angst and of course we have a crazy ex!!!  While the two of them are trying to figure out exactly what they are doing “together” they are both trying to reign in their feelings. She wants to go for it and he wants to go slow. But eventually the zero to sixty happens! One of my favorite lines…. “I have no words for the madness you create inside of me.” This was a fast and intense read that made me dive right into Marking Him, the second book in the series, right away! Loving me some Talan and Bitty!!!

#NewRelease #Review #MontgomeryInk #ColoradoSprings Restless Ink (Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs Book 2) By Carrie Ann Ryan

The Montgomery Ink series continues with the so-called sensible sister and the one man she never should have fallen for.

For Thea Montgomery, baking isn’t only therapeutic, it’s also her dream job. She’s worked countless hours keeping her bakery afloat, and now that it’s where she wants it to be, she’s ready to expand and take the next step. When it comes to work and her family, she’s on top of her game. Her personal life, however, is a different story.

When Dimitri Carr isn’t teaching and hiding his ink under long sleeves to keep the bosses happy, he’s trying to be the best brother and friend he can be. After his divorce, he’d thought he would lose Thea from his life forever because she’s his ex-wife’s best friend. But now that he’s free, and the two of them realize they want to keep their friendship. Then he finally sees what he’s been missing all this time.

But there are more problems than the fact that Dimitri is Thea’s best friend’s ex. And when accidental touches and flirtations aren’t enough for either of them, and they’re finally ready to take the next step, they’ll find out exactly what that cost is for crossing that line. And will need to find the strength to face it.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said it, but I love this family!!!!!!

Thea Montgomery is the head baker and owner of Colorado Icing and loves it.

In her sister Addi’s book we learned that Thea’s best friend Molly and her husband Dimitri were divorcing.

Thea was having a hard time because she was friends with both before they even got married and was finding it hard to stay that way after the divorce.

Dimitri Carr  a divorced tatted teacher and lets not forget he’s a HOTTIE!!!  Oh and he loves dogs too!!! Lol.

After seeing each other after again after her date from hell Thea has thoughts about him that she’s never thought before.

In typical Montgomery fashion we have scenes that involve the Colorado Springs siblings.  I absolutely love these, they show just how close this family is.

Thea and Dimitri are so good that I don’t know why he even married Molly!!  These guys should have been together before now, but maybe they weren’t ready to see how much more than friends they could be.

As with a lot of Ryan’s books in the middle of couples falling in love there is also a lot going on in their lives else where.

Thea’s in the middle of trying to finalize things in the next step for her bakery, Dimitri has the normal troubles that go along with being a teacher, and there is the drama that may or may not be coming from Molly Dimitri’s ex.

Ryan never disappoints and always leaves you wanting the next story.  The next Montgomery is going to be a doozy, but it will as always be well worth the wait.

#Review #Paranormal #Wolves – See Me (The Novus Pack Series Book 1) by M. Jayne / Melanie Jayne

See Me (The Novus Pack Series Book 1) by [Jayne, M.]

Throughout history, The Lady, Goddess of the Lycan world, has gifted werewolf packs with humans who carry her mark. Theodora Morrissey’s plans to return to college for her graduate degree are ended when she is awakened by an otherworldly voice on a rarely used airstrip in Nebraska. Injured and disoriented, she has no idea the discoloration on her back has marked her as a Seer, and that she is now a possession—and the prisoner—of the Novus Pack of Lycans.

To the Novus pack, the word of their leader, their Laird, is the law. With compelling gray eyes and long dark hair, Raider Black rules his pack with intelligence and ruthlessness. To cement the security of his pack, Black has committed to mate another Packleader’s daughter. But he’s finding it impossible to fight his attraction to the pack’s alluring new Seer, claiming her as his own.

Sweet, fearless, and unintentionally funny, Theo upends Black’s world and pushes the boundaries of his rules. How far is Black willing to go, and what will he sacrifice, to save both his pack and the human Seer who’s found a way not only into his bed, but his heart?

I received this book from the author for an honest review.

Before I start this review, I am going to let you in on a little secret.  I am a paranormal whore.  I love love love paranormal AND shifters are like the icing on the cake for me.  So, if you write a paranormal and I read it, I will judge/rate harshly.  Its my favorite genre and its my go to read when I want something to read.  With all that stated up front, you gotta know what I am about to say is deep and true to my soul……I. Loved. This. Book!!  Like WTF!!  It blew me outta the damn water.  I will admit I was a bit skeptical about the whole Lady Goddess stuff at the beginning.  I wondered if I would dig it or if it would be something I found to be an OK read.  FRIENDS, this book rocked my world!!  Like legit, ROCKED ME HARD!!!!

I absolutely loved the world M. Jayne (Melanie) created.  I loved her mythology.  I loved her side characters and seriously I am hard crushing over Lore BUT I am also scared outta my mind at him.  Raider Black is our main character and he is so tough and bad ass but so tender when he wants to be but also please remember he is uber bad ass!!!  Theo is thrust into this NEW world.  She stumbles but runs into it with eyes wide open.  When she is given her new title in the Pack, she tried to be 100% the best she can be.   Her friends Solle and Conal are the best companions for her.  They are loyal to Black but guide her and help her understand the human world is not at all like the Pack’s world.

The story was so wonderfully written.  I seriously kept saying “one more chapter before bed” and then the next thing I knew it was 11PM and I and 10% of the book left!!  Might as well just read it and appreciate the reason for being grumpy the next day was because of the wonderful story telling.  I thought the flow of the story was amazing.  You were always wondering what would happen next.  I know the angst of the two main characters fighting their pull and draw to one another was amazing.  When they finally give in to one another it only made their bond THAT much stronger.  The character banter was hilarious, but the emotional draw of the characters made me so excited for this new series!

I am so excited for the next book and wonder where the story will take us because I am totally hooked on the Novus Pack!!  #TeamNovus  #TeamLore  #TeamSweetBabyJesusThoseWereHotScenes

Q & A with M. Jayne

Hello to My Friends at Twinsie Talk,

Thank you for inviting me to share…and chat…and ramble.

I’m M. Jayne/Melanie Jayne. As M. Jayne I am releasing my first paranormal romance and as Melanie Jayne I have three contemporary romance series featuring characters over the age of thirty-five.

See Me is the first book in the Novus Pack Series and it took over five years to write. The first two attempts were terrible, but on my third try I found my rhythm. In my Lycan world, a human woman is dumped on the Novus Pack’s land. She is saved when they discover she carries the mark of their goddess. See Me tells how Theodora acclimates to this new world and her feelings for the enigmatic leader, Raider Black.

Are you a pantser or a plotter?

Plotter. The first outline for this book was over sixty pages with character descriptions, snippets of dialogue, songs, and fashion ideas. Over time things were added and deleted (so much deleting), but the basic story stayed the same. I knew this world and the main storyline from the start.

Who is another author you always recommend to readers?

I can’t name just one! That is impossible. I cut it down to SIX.  I can do Six.  **These are my picks for today and in no particular order

  • Skye Warren for those with a taste for Dark. Prisoner written with Annika Martin is haunting.
  • Damon Suede’s Hothead is a fantastic, hot, sexy romance. Whether you read m/m or not, read this book for the story!
  • Penny Reid. I love, love, love the Winston Brothers Series. Funny, sweet, and at times I did ugly cry.
  • Kristen Ashley. The Rock Chick Series. I am a Rock Chick, like the author I was raised in central Indiana. I re-read this series every year and I still play my music loud.
  • H. Cosway. I never know what to expect from this author. Each book is original and very interesting. Different characters and outcomes…she makes me think.
  • Patricia Briggs. The Alpha and Omega Series. Huge impact on my writing. I think that Charles is one of the sexiest men in fiction. Anna is growing and changing which I applaud because I know how difficult it is to allow a character to grow over the course of a series.

What is your favorite part of creating a new book/series?

My stories come to me complete, either in a dream, while I’m mowing, or driving. So once I have the idea, I think about the visuals:  The clothes, the office or homes, the colors. In High School I was told that I was a “visual thinker” and that has proved to be true. I “see” the scenes.

The most fulfilling part of creating for me is when I’m writing and the pieces fall together. When the motivations or psychology of my character makes sense without a long explanation or I have to create a scene where it is explained. The backstory usually grows as the story comes to life on the page so I start with a feeling and the rest fills itself in as I type.

#NewRelease #Review #Contemporary #HoP House of Payne: Tag ( HoP Book 7) by Stacy Gail

Mysterious. Anonymous. Genius.
No one knows the identity of the famous urban artist known only as Tag, and that’s just the way Tag likes it. He got his start in one of the most gang-ridden neighborhoods in Chicago by anonymously tagging his world with beautiful graffiti, and that anonymity kept him alive. Sure, Tag’s work is now so hot it’s being turned into tattoos at the greatest tattoo studio in the world, House of Payne, but he’s still not going to reveal himself. To anyone.

Volatile. Passionate. Brilliant.
Artist Ivy Gemelli is the last of her family. Mother—dead. Father—shot in his cab for fifty bucks. Uncle and brother—murdered in the family’s auto paint shop, which was then burned down to the ground. She’s the last one standing in a never-ending struggle to just freaking survive, and it’s made her tougher than nails. That’s why, when she sees her own art show up in Tag’s designs, she’s more than ready to go to war.

Hot. Powerful. Irresistible.
Tag wasn’t looking for a sexy complication like Ivy, but that’s exactly what he’s got. Her murdered brother’s long-ago lie brought them together, but now that Tag’s got Ivy in his sights, he’s not about to let her go. Ivy is all fire and fury, and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep this sex-on-stilettos woman with him, even if he has to keep her in the dark about his past.

***This standalone, hot contemporary romance contains a strong alpha male, mention of the sexual practice of edging, and a spank or two (or three). There are multiple, explicit sex scenes (you have been warned). No cheating, no love triangles, no cliffhangers. HEA guaranteed. This book is not intended for readers under the age of 18**

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book.

It’s time to go back to my favorite Chicago Tatttoo shop House of Payne!!  Boy does Gail start this one off with a bang!!

Ivy isn’t about to let anyone steal her unique artist signature and she doesn’t care how famous he is.

Ivy is awesome!!!  She is a stuff as nails girls from a rough part of Chicago and has lead a rough life.  The one thing that has been there for her is her art, the thing that she has had all her life.  She might be small but she is mighty and takes no crap off anyone!!

Tag is a internationally known artist, will known as everyone knows the name and art, but no one knows who the mysterious artist actually is.

I love how Ivy and Tag are introduced!!  Talk about bearing it all for your art, lol.  She’s so talented and feisty I want to be her when I grow up.  I also love how when she learns the truth about something she owns up to her mistakes.

Tag, well I must say I must say he is no Max, however he ain’t half bad. While he is a artist that creates tattoo designs for the House he isn’t a tattooist.  He always goes after what he wants and after seeing Ivy he wants her.

While the way these two get together is not your average meeting, it certainly is fitting for two unique artist to come together in their own unique way.  No one else can say that they met the way they did.

The way the get to see where both Tag and Ivy came from and what they made of themselves is awesome.  It just shows you that you can be more than your surroundings.

I have never been to Chicago but Gail has a way of making me feel like I am there each and every time I read one of her House of Payne books and a way to make you feel like you are a part of the family that is the House of Payne.

I can’t wait to find out more about the new characters that have been introduced and see our old friends again in the next book!!

#NewRelease #Review #NewSeries #Shifter #SpinOff Mating Season (Morgan Clan Bears Book 1) by Theresa Hissong

Drake Morgan has kept his family secret from the humans for eternity, having no desire to put their existence out into the open like the other shifterkind. He lives a solitary life with his two brothers hidden on his farm deep in the backwoods of Northern Mississippi.

Every spring, their bears call to prepare their home for the arrival of a mating season. The search for their mates begins, and Drake has to rethink his disgust of humans when one of their females show up on his land, scenting of his destined mate. Morgan’s bear demands he keep her for himself, but he knows she will never accept his true nature.

Tessa Ward moved to this little town to hide from her abusive ex, taking two jobs to pay rent and put food on the table. Her position at the local parts store sends her into the heart of the country to make one simple delivery to the local farmer, Drake Morgan. Upon arrival, she is thrown into the world of the paranormal after one touch from the bear shifter and she finds out his true nature.

Mating season has arrived, and Drake is prepared to fight for the woman who is fated to be his bride. When his mate’s ex comes lurking around his sacred property, Drake will stop at nothing until his female is safe, even if it means killing a human…not that he cares for them anyway.

If you have read Theresa Hissong’s series Talon Pack you have met Drake Morgan.  He is a grouchy bear shifter that sticks to his land, loves his brothers which are his Clan, and hates humans.

Tessa Ward is new to the area, on the run from her abusive ex husband and not in anyway looking for a man, which is good since what she finds is a shifter. LOL

I do love a broody, bearded man and that is exactly what Drake is.  Yes his bear is after him to find a mate, however he does not agree that it has to be this little human.  Humans are bad and nothing you can say will change his mind.

Lol, the bigger and broodier they are the harder they fall.  Drake’s bear knows what he wants and he wants the lovely Tessa.

Tessa has been through some crap man, you would think that a man like Drake would scare her but instead there is something that calls her to him.  Even though Tessa has had it rough doesn’t mean she is a push over though, she stand up for herself when she needs too.

Drake are her really are meant to be,that Drake is a dominant in the bedroom  and found Tessa to be submissive is HOT!  I love how everyone sees how Tessa has a calming affect on the grouchy bear that he doesn’t.  However, when Tessa is threatened he is no where near calm!!!  She is also calmed by him.  Soul Mates!!!!

The way the bears are with their women is awesome and I can’t wait to see Drakes brothers find their mates.

#WOTR18 – #Review – Corner (Hallow Brothers Book 4) by Tricia Anderson

Corner (Hallow Brothers Book 4)

Josiah Hallow carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. Literally. Between keeping his family safe as the head of the Hallows, training his six younger brothers for their individual turns in the MMA cage, and guarding his mother’s amulet from the creatures who want to use it to take control of the world, his sanity is about to break.

Mating with the pure Sarah Merit, an overly-religious school teacher whose body makes every fiber of Josiah’s being stand at attention, could finally push him over the edge. Unfortunately, despite the all-consuming sex that blazes between the pair, it isn’t enough to convince Sarah to live with him so he can protect her, as well.

When Josiah learns the secret Sarah is keeping from him, he makes a deal with the pair of vampires who run the MMA promotion the family fights for in an attempt to save her. But will he be able to save her again when Sarah is kidnapped and taken to Josiah’s grandfather, Atticus, the vicious alpha of a pack of werewolves in Maine? And what will Sarah do when she finds out the sexy corner of the Hallow Brothers is a werewolf, too?

Goodreads

Oh Josiah! *swoon* This series just gets better and better. When I read the first book I knew I was hooked. It was steamy, witty, full of angst, and of course there are SHIFTERS!!!! What I expected from the series is that each brother would go through their mating and would have a different story with getting their mates to understand it and a different MMA fight. What I did not expect was for the story to develop in a way that continually pulls you into another story. There are new characters that come into each book and now we have vampires, an ancient magic with the Heka, the wolves from their father’s pack, and tons of craziness. This story has blown up (in an incredible way)! One of the things I love most about this story is that we get to go back into the other book to see Josiah dealing with the events up to his mating that don’t happen until this book. The way they overlap and give us more depth into the story previous is amazing. It makes the world building just that much better. The brothers all have their quirks and I feel like as I get to know them in the books and their mates I can relate something about them to myself or other people I know. Plus, have I said anything about them being shifters? Cuz they are HAWT MMA SHIFTERS!!!! And Sarah, Josiah’s mate….she a badass too and an MMA fighter! I love these books! I love the twists!!! Sooooo looking forward to the next!!!!!!!!! Bring it on, Tricia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exclusive Excerpt:

Suddenly, being alone with Nick in the dojo has me nervous. I’m shifting my weight from foot to foot and not completely sure what to do with my hands. “Hey,” he finally says, offering me a small smile.

“Hi.”

“You ready?”

“As I’ll ever be,” I grumble, not really sure if I can do this.

Or if I should.

No, I definitely should. After what happened last week, a woman should know a few basic self-defense moves.

Nick heads over to the bench and unties his belt, dropping it on the bench beside my bag. Then, he strips off his white jacket.

My jaw hits the floor.

Unlike our time on the boat Monday, where he wasn’t wearing a shirt, this time he’s wearing a white tank top underneath, and if it’s possible, I think it makes him hotter. It hugs his very hard, very muscular upper body in a way that I’ve only read about in books. (Or saw one time when Linkin stripped for my sister, Lexi.) His shoulders…my word, his shoulders. The definition and muscles are like a work of art. Nick turns back to face me. “Is this okay? It’s hot.”

Yep. Definitely hot.

“Umm, sure. Whatever. Fine.” I know I try to sound casual, but really, it just comes out like a bumbling, blubbering teenager.

“Good. Now come here,” he instructs, and the tone goes straight to the apex of my legs (which are practically shaking, by the way). Why does it sound dirty?

“I’m going to show you just a few moves to help you escape an assailant. The first is an open hand strike. You’re going to use the heel of your hand to strike some of your assailant’s most sensitive areas,” he teaches, demonstrating the move. “Aim for the eyes, nose, mouth, or neck.” He stands in front of me and holds my hand, positioning it and showing me the correct ways to execute. “Here,” he adds, moving my hand to his face.

I can feel his breath on the palm of my hand as I slowly shadow his movements, practicing without actually striking him.

“Good. Now, if he comes at you from behind, your elbow is a valuable weapon. It’s hard, and when thrust into his face, neck, or stomach, you could definitely buy some precious time to get away.” He moves behind me and I immediately thrust upward with my elbow. He easily dodges the blow, as mortification tinges my cheeks.

“Oh my God, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to try to hit you, it just…was a reflex,” I insist.

“You’re fine,” he chuckles. “It’s good for you to actually practice the moves. Well, except this next one. No need to practice the knee to the groin. Just know it’s one of the most effective ways to disarm an assailant. If done right, your perp will be lying on the ground, crying for his mommy while you run away,” Nick teases, holding his hand over his…area.

Of course, my eyes drop down.

Why wouldn’t they?

He was just referring to someone’s…package.

“Yeah, no need to practice that,” I quickly reply, again a blush burning my neck and cheeks.

Is it hot in here?

“Let’s go over a few ways to block a punch or slap,” he says, showing me a few techniques using my arms and hands, before finally demonstrating what to do if the assailant gets me down on the ground.

Yep, I’ve officially lost my mind. I’m practically rolling around on the mat with Nick, who is trying to teach me moves that might one day save my life. And all I can think about is the way his arms feel when they wrap around me or the way his package brushes up against my thigh, not once, but five times.

Five.

Yes, I counted.

“Okay, that’s the basics. I want to do a few of them in a real-life situation. Stand over there, and I’ll come at you. I want you to take me down.”

“Wait, what? I can’t take you down. You’re…big.”

And, cue the blush…

Nick chuckles. “I’ll be okay, honey. Promise.” Then he winks at me, and my entire body seems to catch fire. “Ready?”

No. I’m definitely not ready for this.

#REVIEW – Control Games (Game for Cookies Book 2) by Allyson Lindt

Julie is living her dream.

She’s opening a video-game themed cookie bouquet shop with her best friend. But even dreams come with stress and sleepless nights.

Their primary investor, Dante, is as overbearing in real life as he is on his award winning cooking show. On the other hand, he’s sexy as hell, and his boyfriend, Christopher, is as kind as he is a gorgeous, drool-worthy geek of a guy.

She likes looking, but she’d rather have a hands-on experience.

When the tension of trying to keep her business together threatens to tear Julie apart, Christopher’s got a solution for teaching her to share the workload. If she can surrender control in the bedroom, it might help her delegate in the office.

Is submission worth the cost?

What starts as game where blindfolds and submission are the board pieces becomes more serious. Until Julie discovers that Dante and Christopher have kept a secret from her that shatters her trust, leaving their hearts and jobs one move away from game over.

Twinsie Jo’s Review:

First off. Oh Christopher. Ooohlala.

So I was intrigued by Julie and Dante’s not so nice relationship while reading the first book. And when I realized they were getting their book, I knew this was going to be fun. The only thing I wished because I’m a freak and all, was that the first BIG fight they had, ended up in crazy hot intense sex. But I got why it didn’t happen. The tension was INSANE and it drove me nuts. But I also loved it. I’m a masochist that way.

I really loved the dynamic between this trio but I have to say, that I REALLY loved Christopher’s character. I’m partial to Dominant men so maybe that’s why? Either way, all three characters worked well together. I hope the author does more to this series although I’m not sure what other side characters could get stories. Either way, I’m satisfied if there is no more.

Now onto the next book!
