I received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.

I absolutely love this series!! I have been a fan since she released book 3 so I have been here for the long haul.

King has been a fun character to get to know through the series.  I always wondered who his mate would be, and Amara is the perfect person especially since she is Joey’s aunt aka King’s friend.

This series we get a lot more Realm information and maybe see a possible new fear for Daniel and also maybe a MATE???  I kinda wanna know more about her.  But back to King…..King and Amara have amazing chemistry and the fact that Joey is down with his aunt and his friend is even better.

We learn about Golden Blood and how not good this is but could be good but right now it is not good.  LOL There is always a new story line or plot that Teresa gives to us to keep the series fresh.  I mean 28 book in a series is a lot but trust me when I say it is an amazing series to jump into.  There are so many things in the storyline that I can’t wait for the next warrior book and also the Mate’s book because Becky has some stuff going on and your girl needs to know ASAP!

#WOTR25 #ReleaseDay #Cowboy #2ndChance #SingleParent – Something More, The Westbrook Sisters book 1 by H. D’Agostino

As the oldest of five girls, I always knew I’d take over the family farm one day. My father started teaching me everything as soon as I was old enough to help. At seventeen, I fell madly in love with Hank Thompson. He was older, and everything I was always told to stay away from. We made plans to be together forever, until my father found out.

He wanted more for me and forced me to choose between college and the family legacy, or Hank. I left without even so much as a goodbye, destroying everything we had together, and breaking both our hearts.

When I decided to move back home, I didn’t expect him to still be there, but he was… and now I have to see if he’ll forgive me, and maybe, just maybe I can find something more.

Something More, The Westbrook Sisters book 1 by H. D’Agostino

I was given this book by the author for an honest review.

I was super excited to see this book was about older characters.  I feel I can relate to them over younger teens/early 20 somethings.  Plus who doesn’t love a 2nd chance with older characters??

Codie and Hank were such a great read.  I loved this story of being first loves.  I was so invested in the “why didn’t it work” in the beginning of the story since it was clear they had such love for each other.

This was a great coming home to your family story when you need them to support you through hard times.  Codie and Hank go through so much in the story and to learn why they were split up was heart breaking but in some ways you understand.

Seeing Hank do all he can to show Codie the man he is now and the man he can be for her son was so heartwarming.  I loved all the scenes with them together.  The swimming scene was probably my favorite.

I loved the sisters and what is happening to them.  I can’t wait to see what drama they have in store for us.  But seeing Codie and Hank get that HEA was so fulfilling for me.

#Review – Book 2: Zodiac Academy: Ruthless Fae by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

They tried to break us.
They almost did.
But we’re not going anywhere.

The Celestial Heirs think the stars are on their side. But they don’t know what’s coming. We have to be smart. Fighting them one on one isn’t an option so we have to be stealthy. Remaining under the radar won’t be easy, but if we pull it off, they’ll never suspect our involvement when their lives start falling apart.

Besides, they’ve already taken us to the brink of hell, what more can they really do?

I finished this book in 24 hours. I completely devoured it and I have to say that I haven’t been this invested in a series in a long time. I’m so glad the whole series is published because there is no way I could have waited patiently between books.

So the story continues with Tory and Darcy fighting for their rightful place within Zodiac Academy. While the Heirs are a little nicer to them, they still can’t be trusted. Tory and Darcy get their revenge and I haven’t laughed out loud while reading in such a long time. It was amazing and so funny. Once you get to the pitball chapters, I couldn’t read fast enough.

This book had action, suspense, lust and the spice is definitely increasing. I have to stop myself from googling spoilers. Clearly I am not patient when it comes to slow burns/enemies to lovers.

I can’t wait to see what happens next with but I am so rooting for Darcy and Orion. Their little moment was hot AF. Then you get Tory and…well, I’ll let you read the book to find out who she ends up with.

#Review – Book 1: Zodiac Academy: The Awakening by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti

Amazon.com and Wall Street Journal #1 bestselling dark fantasy romance series from authors Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti – a Booktok sensation!

I’m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I’m Fae.

But of course there’s a catch – all I have to do to claim my birth right is prove that I’m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that’s true as I’m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn’t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

The school they’ve sent me to is both dangerous as sh*t and one helluva party. Vampires bite weaker students in the corridors, the Werewolf pack has orgies in the Wailing Wood at every full moon and don’t even get me started on the dark and twisted ways the Sirens use their powers on people’s emotions, or how my sinfully tempting Cardinal Magic teacher hosts detentions that leave people needing therapy.

Classes are totally interesting if you manage to live through them. And that Gemini star sign I mentioned? It now determines my elemental magic and affects my destiny, so learning astrology is essential if I’m going to beat down my classmates – which is actively encouraged by the way.

My biggest problem is the drool worthy Dragon shifter who has his eyes on my throne. He and his three psycho friends are determined to make my time here hell.

All I’ve got to do is survive. But fate might have other ideas.

Dammit, why couldn’t I have gotten a letter to Hogwarts?

***This is a enemies to lovers romantasy – don’t go expecting a sweet school for magic with friends around every corner. Fae fight for everything they own and Zodiac Academy is a cutthroat school for students aged 18+ where only the strongest prevail. There’s no Dumbledore here to save anyone’s ass and Lionel Acrux will give Voldemort a run for his money in the evil dictator category. So hold onto your stardust (broomsticks not required) and get ready for a bumpy ride***

Oh boy where do I even begin? So first off, if bullying isn’t your jam, you will wanna skip this series. I know it’s a bit older but if you’re like me and just checking it out for the first time, please be warned that the bullying isn’t subtle. Now I’m not usually one for the bully trope but I kept seeing this series every where. After reading Rebecca Yarros’s fantasy world, I needed more. So I decided to check this out and I devoured book 1. Like absolutely devoured. It’s an easy read and I really enjoyed the world building. I even downloaded a horoscope app because of this series. lol

So we meet Darcy and Tory, who are twins and are super down on their luck. After turning 18, they find out that they’re actually Fae and from another world. No more cold windy Chicago for these girls.

The girls find out that they’re heiresses to the throne but 4 other heirs will have none of that.

The stuff these poor girls go through is unreal. I had issues in highschool but man, I am so glad I am not these girls.

Most of the characters I absolutely loathe but the one guy, Orion, is actually coming around. I can’t wait to see his relationship with Darcy grow. If they even end up together. I have no idea and I’m trying not to read spoilers but it’s killing me. This is why I tend to stay away from the slow burn enemies to lovers thing because I want the spice right away.

Anyway, if you want a fun ride with 4 beyond grumpy guys who would stop at nothing to claim their throne and two girls who refuse to back down, this is for you.

#AudioReview – Logan Kade (Fallen Crest High #6) by Tijan – Narrators: Graham Halstead and Summer Morton

People think that just because they know my name, my reputation, and my family that they know me. They don’t.

They say I’m a manwhore, but who wouldn’t be with my face and body? They say I’m a partier, and that’s not going to change. They say I’m a fighter, and hell yes I am. F*ck with mine, and I’ll f*ck you back ten times worse.

So, yes. Maybe what they say is true, but that’s not all of me.

I’m loyal to a damned fault. If you earn it, I’ll never leave your side. And when I love, I love hard, but there’s another side to me where it’s dark and painful. That side’s been kept hidden, until her. Taylor saw inside of me, and the second she was there, she owned me.

People think they know me…

…but only she can see me.

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased this audio book.

I loved Logan we got to see a side to him that not everyone gets to see.  We know the playboy, partier, funnyman, and even fighter but here we see another side of him the the loving, protector, and loyal to those he loves. Honestly, after growing up with the parents he had and seeing what those he held close put him though I get why he is the way he is. He has so much hurt and is guarded but he doesn’t let is show it haunts him but it does. He just wants someone to see him for who he is and to love him for it.

I love Taylor’s spunk and attitude she can go toe to toe with Logan which is just what he needs.  One day everything changed for Taylor, she lost her mom, her boyfriend and is all essence her dad too. Taylor is one tough cookie though after all she has been through, she kept on going. She holds her ground when it come to Logan or anyone really.  Even with her encounters with the ex she knows what she does and doesn’t want and stands strong with that. She does have a moment where her walls are thrown back up and she freezes Logan out by pushing him away.

Logan and Taylor are the perfect match both have their share of heartbreak and both make it hard to break their inner circle but these two fit together perfectly.  I did enjoy seeing the relationship between Logan, Mason, Sam and Nate then adding Taylor in the mix.  Sam accepting Taylor with no judgments no expectations was heartwarming.  Watching Logan with his family and see Taylor with her close friends you realize they are not perfect but they are protective of each other, want what is best for each other and love each other. I loved seeing the softer side of Logan. Seriously the scenes on the roller coaster had me tearing up, not just the interaction between Logan and Taylor but also the interaction between Logan and Mason.

Graham Halstead and Summer Morton did a great job brining Tijan’s book to life. The flow from one scene to another and one character to another was seamless. I had a hard time pressing the pause button on this one at times.

A few of my favorite quotes:

“I told Logan I’d be a friend to you,.. So I’d like to do that, and I’d like to do it the way I’d want it done for me: No opinions. No judgments. Just an Easy acceptance.” ~Sam

“I was going to only be friends with them and make a point of giving them whatever they needed. But all that went out the door when Logan sat next to me in sociology. Somehow, and I truly have no idea how, he’s become my friend.” ~Taylor

“Family never leaves each other. You save each other. If it ends, it ends together. That’s all you can do, because even if you get out, you’re alone.” ~Logan

“You’re sweet. You’re kind. You want to be loved. You still miss your mom’s love. You yearn for a dad who’ll choose you over his lover. You want a girl who’ll hold your hand on top of a broken Roller coaster.”…”You want a partner in crime, but also someone you can protect, and who’ll do the same for you.”…”No one knows the real you, but I do.” ~ Taylor

You’d think a billion dollars, a professional hockey team and a six-bedroom mansion on the Promenade would satisfy a guy. You’d be wrong.

For seven years Rebecca has brightened my office with her wit and her smile. She manages both my hockey team and my sanity. I don’t know when I started waking in the night, craving her. All I know is that one whiff of her perfume ruins my concentration. And her laugh makes me hard.

When Rebecca gets hurt, I step in to help. It’s what friends do. But what friends don’t do is rip off each others’ clothes for a single, wild night together.

Now she’s avoiding me. She says we’re too different, and it can never happen again. So why can’t we keep our hands off each other?

Review by Twinsie Melinda

I purchased this book and audiobook.

Narrators Zachary Webber, Virgina Rose and Joe Hempel did a wonderful job with their narrations on this book. They kept the story moving and had me wanting more. This was the first time I have read a book by Sarina Bowen. How can you go wrong with a billionaire hockey book.

Even though Becca and Nate have been friends for seven years they both have been suppressing their feelings because Nate was Becca’s boss and it wouldn’t be professional to get involved. Things changed when she decided to step out on the ice and fell hitting her head. Now Nate has delegated himself the one to take care of her and make sure she gets the rest she needs.

I loved the flashbacks to when Becca first started working for Nate was great. I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow from a great friendship. Becca doesn’t feel that she is good enough for Nate. There are times in the book that she doesn’t take things that are happening the right way because her feelings get in the way. I have to say I liked the Pride and Prejudice references. The side characters made this book also. I want to read more about them. I thought it was funny how everyone knew these two belonged together but they internally fought their attraction because of their strong friendship and employee/employer relationship. This was a great book to listen to and I am intrigued to read more of this author.

#Biography #ChildAbuse #TrueCrime #audiobook – The House of My Mother: A Daughter’s Quest for Freedom by Shari Frankie

From eldest daughter Shari Franke, the shocking true story behind the viral 8 Passengers family vlog and the hidden abuse she suffered at the hands of her mother, and how, in the face of unimaginable pain, she found freedom and healing.

Shari Franke’s childhood was a constant battle for survival. Her mother, Ruby Franke, enforced a severe moral code while maintaining a façade of a picture-perfect family for their wildly popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which documented the day-to-day life of raising six children for a staggering 2.5 million subscribers. But a darker truth lurked beneath the surface—Ruby’s wholesome online persona masked a more tyrannical parenting style than anyone could have imagined.

As the family’s YouTube notoriety grew, so too did Ruby’s delusions of righteousness. Fueled by the sadistic influence of relationship coach Jodi Hildebrandt, together they implemented an inhumane and merciless disciplinary regime.

Ruby and Jodi were arrested in Utah in 2023 on multiple charges of aggravated child abuse. On that fateful day, Shari shared a photo online of a police car outside their home. Her caption had one word: “Finally.”

For the first time, Shari will reveal the disturbing truth behind 8 Passengers and her family’s devastating involvement with Jodi Hildebrandt’s cultish life coaching program, “ConneXions.” No stone is left unturned as Shari exposes the perils of influencer culture and shares for the first time her battle for truth and survival in the face of her mother’s cruelty.

I purchased this audiobook.

Like most people I heard about this story on TikTok and many of my true crime podcasts.    I was destroyed by the story of the younger siblings and what happened to them.  I also was heartbroken for Shari and her brother Chad who dealt with different trauma at the hands of their mother.  I never knew what all Shari went through and was so glad I read this story.

Shari’s story was everything I expected it to be.  We heard of all her mom’s narcissism and emotional abuse.  But hearing all the things she went through at the hands of her mom and what happened to her after her mom’s brainwashing was horrible.  I felt so sad for her and all the self-doubt her mom’s abuse caused which caused further abuse at the hands of other people.

I was so proud of her recognizing the abuse of her mom and refusing to follow that path by not reliving any of her siblings abuse.  As she reminds us through the book she will not profit on their abuse since it is their story.  If they want to tell the horrific happenings in the future, then that is their right.  She will not exploit them like Ruby.

I am not sure if she recognized the damage that the church caused her when everything shakes out.  SO I do wish that was addressed but honestly I am so happy with her and where she is now.

I also was so happy to hear she has a great built in support system with people who she loves and value.  She built amazing and safe relationships with people who have supported her through all the bad and now in the good times.

One of Ryder Highs bright, smart and bubbly tutors is about to get her turn in the spotlight Wyatt Anderson got her famous teal envelope and was now this month’s “IT” girl. Which at first was difficult because she’s already on the shorter side and didn’t know what the crowd was gathered around, but the closer she got to her locker she quickly figured it out. Wyatt may have gotten her envelope on April Fools, but this was no prank, now she had clues to solve, classmates to tutor and keeping up with her life and own schoolwork. Follow Wyatt as she decodes this month’s clues and tries to figure out who the guy is while her heart starts to fall for someone who might not be behind the letters. This might be my favorite book yet (shh don’t tell Max) I loved Wyatt, her guy and their friends.
