#Review – Tapewyrmin’: An Extreme Horror Short by Judith Sonnet

Clyde thinks he’s in luck when the hottest babe on campus starts asking after him . . .
Until he’s confronted by her ex. A jock, who claims that Amira isn’t all she seems to be. And that getting her into bed . . . might not be a great idea.
Ignoring his warnings, Clyde meets up with Amira, hoping to have some fun.
But he quickly learns that something unnatural is going on inside Amira’s body.
Something . . . inhuman.

WARNING: This is an extreme horror short. If you don’t like crude content or gore . . . don’t read this story.

This book was gross in the best of ways. I just love the way Judith always comes up with something utterly disturbing in her stories and makes it awesome.

So we meet Clyde who is nothing super special. He’s not popular and only okay looking. He can’t get the ladies either.

After an unexpected encounter with a popular and beautiful girl, his world takes a turn for…the better? I guess it depends on how you look at it.

This book is a short and super quick read and doesn’t disappoint in the odd department.

#Review – 100% Match by Patrick C. Harrison III

“What The One Minute Manager was to business, 100% Match is to relationships.” -PC3 Books

Bart is thirty. He is bald. He is overweight. He wears glasses. He is a fry cook. He hates cats. And kids. Bart occasionally does very bad things. He is looking for his perfect match. He has done his research.

“Depraved, deranged, and blackly hilarious. PC3 does what he does best here, and doesn’t hold back. I suspect 89.3% of you will love this story. The other 10.7% are humorless prudes.” -Chris Miller, author of Dust and Dub-Town Blues

“Vile, repulsive, and smart, with a kick-in-the-ass ending. You know, all the stuff we’ve come to love about PC3” -Rayne Havok, author of Necrosis

“Get ready to squirm, cringe, and maybe even laugh! Patrick C. Harrison III’s prose is as slick as it is sick, and 100% Match is one you won’t want to miss. Especially if you’re deranged and looking for love.” -Judith Sonnet, author of No One Rides for Free

“If you like your fiction sick and twisted, this one will be a 100% match for you. PC3 gives us a glimpse into the mind of the truly depraved, and despite the nature of spending time in such a nasty headspace, the story is entertaining as hell. Just don’t read it on a full stomach.” -Robert Essig, author of The Circus Oasis and Tweaker Creatures

Ok this book was so much fun and so random at times, that I couldn’t stop laughing and thinking “WTF am I reading?”

We meet Bart who is trying to find his perfect lady and 100% match. We find out his daily routine and how he lives his life. The things he does, are vile and disgusting at times. The scenes aren’t in the greatest detail but the way the author wrote them, it almost makes it seem worse. It’s like he wrote it in a way that you’re forced to use your imagination and if yours is anything like mine, that’s not a good thing.

I really enjoyed this book and it’s the first I read by this author, so I’ll definitely be picking up more from him. I also absolutely loved the twist at the end.

This book was so entertaining and one I won’t stop thinking about. Oh and I’m never eating a fast food place again.

#WOTR25 #AttendingAuthor #AuthorInterview – Nicolette Pierce

Nicolette Pierce

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

I’m Nicolette Pierce. I also write as Sophia Paisley, Nicky Graves, and Melissa Nicole. When I’m not writing, I enjoy annoying my husband, playing with my special needs son, finding treasures for my Little Free Library, and my secret obsession is watching Thai BL (boy love) series.

How did you hear about this event?

This will be my third year attending and I’m super excited to come back for year 10!!! I can’t wait to see everyone and check out the fun changes and the new venue. Stop by and say hello. I’m nice and silly even if my resting face says otherwise.

How many years have you attended?

Three and counting!

What genres do you write?

Contemporary romance under Sophia Paisley, Cozy mystery with a generous sprinkle of romance under Nicolette Pierce, Paranormal romance with mystery under Melissa Nicole, and Paranormal YA under Nicky Graves. I’ll announce another pen name that is full of spicy romance before the event, so stay tuned!

What is a book of yours you wish more people read?

Definitely Blood and Bonbons. It’s a fun book with sass, slow burn romance that gets spicy, an escalating love triangle, mystery, and a ton of shenanigans. I had so much fun cowriting this book/series with my bestie Melissa Haag. We blended our humor, love of alpha wolves and vampires, and created an entire paranormal world set in DC. Not only does the MC love to bake delicious treats but her love interests are quite delicious too! And if you continue the series, the bromance between the wolf and vampire gets entertaining. The book is available on Amazon and Kindle Unlimited!

What is one fun fact about you?

I’ve been a vegetarian for nearly 30 years. I don’t miss meat, but I do like the scent of bacon.

Review by Twinsie Kelly

I was looking for a quick, cute and funny Christmas story and ran across this golden gem! Laura and her team are presented with a case to find the thief of all things gold. Everything that is gold is missing…oh, and PIES! And some memories, too! It was rather humorous following her team to figure out who the culprit was. There is a bit of everything in such a quick read; it was funny, witty, heartwarming and super cute! However, there is a LOT going on in this story. I found myself getting a bit confused at times because the story is told from several points of view, and I have not read any part of this series. I am not sure if the author meant for this to be a standalone or not. However, I am intrigued by these characters that I plan to check out The Northwoods Guardians and give it another go.

Amy Award

Tell us your name and then a bit about yourself.

Amy-Aidy Award – I write Curvy Girl Romance, because I’m a curvy girl myself, and seeing ourselves positively represented in the media can quite literally change the world!

How did you hear about this event?

My good friend Dylann Crush loves WOTR and said that she thought I would love it too

How many years have you attended?

This will be my first one

What genres do you write?

As Amy Award I write Contemporary Rom Coms with thick thighs and yummy guys, as Aidy Award I write Paranormal Romance with curves and claws!

What is a book of yours you wish more people read?

My personal favorite Aidy book is Defy Me. It’s about a dragon who is sure he doesn’t have a soul, and no soul means no mate. But the fates have other plans in mind for him and his very… unique heroine. I love this book because it’s grumpy-sunshine, fated mates, filled with international locations, and a heroine who can’t swear, but tries very hard to.

But if you’re into contemporary romance, I wish all the Swifties out there would read The Wiener Across the Way. It’s loosely inspired by Taylor and Travis’s love story (but if I’m honest, I have a bit more of a crush on Jason Kelce than his brother). But what I really did was take the idea of a plus size pop star dating a football player… possibly in a showmance, and then made up my own story from there. But I’m a Swiftie at heart, so there’s lots of inspo from Tay-Tay’s songs in this story too.

What is one fun fact about you?

One time when I was scuba diving in Nha Trang, Vietnam, I cut my hand open on a piece of coral. When I got back on the boat, even though I normally have no problems, I almost passed out, and had to be medically evacuated to the shore. They took me to the military hospital where I ended up with 5 stitches in the meaty part of the thumb area of my palm, which was all done in an open air operating room. The whole thing cost me about $180 dollars, and I have the scar to this day.

#Review – Vasectomy by R.J. Powell

Scott has an appointment for a vasectomy. Dr. Mudgett has other plans in mind.
Reader discretion is advised.

******
“R.J. Powell returns with a story that is sure to leave you wincing in pain and second guessing your next medical procedure. The stuff of nightmares.” – John Lynch, Author of The Warrior Retreat

Other books by R.J. Powell include Dollface, Madness in Tandem, and Eight Cases of Jane.

Well this was fun in a painful disturbing kind of way. So I know there’s such a thing as medical voyeurism on the dark web, but I’ve never actually read a book about it. Until now.

Scott is going in for a standard procedure. After his wife had their twins, they decided they shouldn’t have anymore kids, so Scott is getting a vasectomy. Seems pretty normal, right?

Much to Scott’s dismay, the procedure does not go like he thought it would.

After some hardships and money issues, Scott’s wife takes it upon herself to use him to get paid. In quite unconventional ways.

This was a quick extreme little reason that I read in a single sitting.

#Review – Dollface by R.J. Powell/Ryan J. Powell

Papa has his victims, but Dollface holds his heart. His perfect little Dolly. Now, she’s awake and ready to seek revenge for all she was forced to witness and endure. *TW: Contains SA

***
Other works by the Author include Madness in Tandem and Eight Cases of Jane.

I came across a TikTok video about this book and without even listening to the whole thing, I instantly added this book to my KU library and read it in one sitting.

This little story is short, disgusting and so much fun.

We meet Papa who is a monster. Literally. From the things he does to his victims, the ages of said victims, and how he treats them, his final outcome was far too soft for him if you ask me.

Papa has a doll, Dollface, and she is his everything. Until she isn’t.

With the help of Dollface, Rebecca is able to seek her revenge. But what lengths do these two actually go through to avenge all of Papa’s victims?

If you like extreme horror, I suggest picking this one up! There are possibly triggers in this, so please read with caution.
