#review #newrelease #partofaseries Rhett (Station 47 3) by Evan Grace

I love to live my life free as bird. In my line of work, it’s better to have no attachments. I have no desire to leave some poor woman and children behind.

Plus, who doesn’t love having women flock to you?  But then why does the strawberry-blonde who walked into our fire house with a box full of cookies, monopolize my thoughts and make me think that there’s something more that I could have, if I just grab it.

Rhett saved me from my burning building. I had no idea meeting him would change my life. He’s the most beautiful man I’ve ever met and sees something in me that he can’t get enough of. From the start he’s all in, but when two little lines appear… everything changes.

Sofia’s changed everything and all we can do is hold on and enjoy the ride, no matter what comes our way.

i was given this book by the author for an honest review

fire blazing, and Hollywood and Marchy are checking the last floor of the apartment building that is engulfed in flames, and they hear a cry from a women stuck in her apartment they couldn’t leave her behind and they were able to save her. days pasted and Sofia couldn’t help but want to thank Rhett and Cooper for saving her, baking and teaching are her passion, and waiting for her insurance claim is now a new hobby. her life hasn’t been pictured perfect her dad doesn’t want anything to do with her after being the oops from an affair, but her half-brothers are in her life, it’s crazy but it’s her crazy. Rhett grew up the opposite parents still married older sister, he always wanted to be a firefighter and EMT so once he graduated high school that’s exactly what he did, and he didn’t look back he loves getting to help people and even though some calls are worst then others he wouldn’t change it. he has his brothers and when the strawberry blonde walks into the station with cookies as a thank you his heart is smitten, and he doesn’t know what to do with himself. Will the teacher tame the Hollywood boy from his wild hook up nights or will it just be a few coffee dates of thank you’s for saving her life. these books keep getting better and better with each call and each couple keep them coming I don’t think I ever want this series to end.

A Midwesterner and a readaholic most of her life until one day an idea came into Evan’s head and a writing career was born. She’s a sucker for happily ever afters and loves creating fictional worlds that others can get lost in. She loves putting her characters through the ringer, but loves when they get to that satisfying, swoony ending.

When the voices in her head give it a rest, which isn’t often, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Aurora Rose Reynolds, (the queen) Kristen Ashley, Kaylee Ryan, Lucy Score, and Sara Cate. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, movies, TV shows and life.

I purchased this audio book.

I purchased the entire audio set of books 1-5 when I met the author at a book signing.  I love love love novellas and to know I had 5 was *chef’s kiss*

So Cruz is the bartender who loves to keep secrets.  He also is the guy who seems to enjoy giving everyone crap.  When his alpha….I mean his good friend Cade because we don’t have packs anymore…..asked him to check up on the newspaper guy who is out to out shifters, he meets his mate Eva.

Eva is stunned stupid when the hot as sin man who is also a shifter shows up at her office to find out about the old guy who did her job.  They two have that insta-love that happens when a shifter finds their mate.

This book is quick and fast, but it also ends on a cliffhanger.  The other 3 books were interconnected but this book and book 5 need to be read in order.  To get the best bang for your buck with the story you need to read them all.

Eva and Cruz find each other which also helps book 5 (Josiah the fight announcer and scheduler plus Meredith, Eva’s sister) story line get started.  This book was a sweet…I mean sexy…read when all of a sudden BANG…literally…you are thrown in to book 5 for the resolution of Eva and Cruz and Josiah and Meredith.  When book 4 ended and eagerly started book 5!

I loved the series and am excited to start another set of novellas by this author.

Adult romance
I really enjoyed this book. I’ve already downloaded book two! There’s humor, sass, danger, romance, and
a seriously talented heroine.
Kenzie comes from a powerful witch family but has no powers of her own. So she teams up with her
sister, and becomes the leading edge of tech magic. Girl has got crazy skills, and I’m talking mission
impossible paranormal style, type skills. You know the type that takes a beating and comes out togher for
it? That’s her. She’s taken torture and all, and still came out kicking.
Her family except for her sister and grandmother are horrible to her, but she just takes it all. I love, love
her sassy grandma lol. To get her hands on a potion to give her sister back her powers she ends of
working with three mercenary foxes who claim she is their mate. Trouble is they’re not sure they want a
mate. The job? Take down the guy who cursed her sister, and Kenzie is all in. These foxes are in
trouble 🙂
There is a bit of fighting, intrigue, danger, and some explicit content towards the end.

I was suer excited for this book.  Aaron seemed like such a sweet guy so when I knew he was uo next I jumped right in.

Aaron is the healer for the pack…I mean non pack members who fight to keep their wolves in check.  When he is return something to the bar, he sees a sweet ass and the curves that went along with it stunned him stupid. When she turned around and his wolf Screamed MATE, Aaron was a goner.

Cali is starting her first day at the fight club.  Scared outta her mind is an understatement, but she goes and meets Aaron.  The first thing he does is grabs her for a kiss.  Good thing Cruz is there to keep it decent!!!  LOL

I will say this book jumps rights in with sexy time unlike the last 2 but Aaron and Cali are all about “What the Gods want the Gods want.”  They go with it and will figure it out after.

I was so happy with the story and then *Que scary music* the plot twist happened, and I was not so happy.

Seeing Cade jump up for his people but not people but knowing they are forming a pack made my heart soar.

I am so ready for the next book.

Joyce is a therapist. She specializes in trauma and death, and she’s good at her job. But Avani is her best friend and she drags her there anyway. It’s torture, knowing that her mate doesn’t want her, but she’s determined to get to the bottom of his pain whether he likes it or not. Aside from the rumors spread about him at the club, Kye has a trauma-filled past with a whole lot of secrets. He uses that pain to win every fight, just to feel something. But when his mate starts showing up, he heads down a downward spiral of horrible memories. He knows he can’t have her because he’s just too damaged. In order to protect her from himself, he rejects her.

I purchased this book.

I met this author at a book signing.  When I saw I could get 5 novellas for a few bucks I jumped. I started this book when I was on the long drive home.  The author has several novellas series (all on audio as well).  I just grabbed this set and went.  They are all standalones.  The only issue I had was wondering why wolf packs dispersed.  I am not sure if that is discussed in another book but otherwise, I just rolled with it.  Packs can’t be packs. Got it!

When book 1 ended I was laughing like a crazy person.  Avani and Joyce were cooking up some trouble to get Kye to claim his mate.

Book 2 begins with Joyce dressed up very sexy which is not her at all.  She starts to flirt to get her mates attention and it sure did work.  Kye’s grumpy and claimy self-came and said NO to her flirting but then also ran away with his wolf tail between his leg.

Joyce and Kye have a lot of steamy chemistry and then lots of step backs.  They are literally perfect or each other but Kye is being stubborn.  Good things Joyce is a feisty spitfire who will not give up on her mate.

These 2 were a blast to read.  I loved it so much.  I was excited when book 3 started to play and I saw Aaron gets a book.  The healer is in need of some sexual healing himself!!

#WOTR25 #Audio #Paranormal #Shifters #FatedMate – Mated to Curves, Book 1 by D.V. Fischer

Avani is okay with being alone. Even though all shifters are packless and the world looks vastly different now that the humans are suspicious they exist, she’s handling the solitary life quite well. However, she’s thrown a curve ball when she finds out that her mate owns a shifter underground club she frequents. Once he laid eyes on her, he was determined to keep her. But, even though he’s incredibly attractive, enticing, and she wants more than anything to give in to him, she isn’t stupid. Two alphas together would start a pack and that could be disastrous. With her demanding to remain mate-less for the good of their kind, how is he going to convince her to accept him?

This is a steamy curvy girl shifter romance with two strong alpha characters.

#twinsiefortheday – The Children’s Game by Max Karpov

A frighteningly plausible, fast-paced thriller about a Russian cyberattack on America, involving fake news and anonymous hackers.

The CIA has learned that the Kremlin is about to launch a sophisticated propaganda operation aimed at discrediting and disrupting the United States and ultimately restoring Russia to great nation status. Intercepted intelligence suggests that the operation will hinge on a single, breaking news event in Eastern Europe, supported by a sustained campaign of disinformation and cyberattacks. Code-named the “Children’s Game”–a chess stratagem that leads to checkmate in four moves–it was probably conceived by a Russian billionaire and former FSB officer named Andrei Turov. For years Turov has been developing the infrastructure for a new kind of warfare that exploits weaknesses in western democracies and manipulates public opinion. His organization offers the Kremlin plausible deniability.

But the United States has its own secret Christopher Niles, a former CIA intelligence officer, who understands Turov’s ambitions and capabilities. It falls to him and his small team–composed of his journalist half-brother Jon, a special forces operative he would trust with his life, and Anna Carpenter, a resourceful US senator with deep roots in the intelligence community–to unravel Turov’s plot and restore truth to a world spiraling into chaos.

The Children’s Game is a frighteningly realistic, timely thriller that delves into the secret corners of Vladimir Putin’s Russia, exploring the shifting world order and the murky realm of US-Russia relations.

I received this book for an honest review.

Espionage
The devil is in the details, and they can be so easy to miss. The beginning of this book has a lot of players
as the lies beginning to hit the news and a lot of half-truths, so you need to pay a bit of attention to who
is hinting at what to try to figure out if they really know anything.
The phrase “noise at the expense of comprehension” caught my attention and stuck with me through
the book. I feel like this quote really is the heart of the beginning of Russia’s plan, and it really strikes
true in our current media as well. So much is put out there by so many different people that it can be
hard to find the truth. It’s a little chilling how true this story could become.
This book is a clever twist of espionage, lies, twisted patriotism, half-truths told to reporters, and how
easy it is to sway public opinion. The other things this book highlights is how hard it is to get people to
believe the truth after they believe the lies, and how far people are willing to go to hide what they have
done. Once a lie goes “viral” your life could be over even when the truth comes out or you can become a
hero only to fall just as fast. Russia has become a master at helping stories go viral, and pumping
disinformation to the public, and when key people have secrets to protect it can take too long to get to
the truth.
The end of the book seems to linger just a bit, but stick with it because Russia’s master mind had one
last little lie that you don’t know about until the end. Kudos to the author for the hidden fourth move.
There is no explicit adult content, and there is a bit of violence.

MAX KARPOV is the author of THE CHILDREN’S GAME, the Amazon best-selling thriller about Russian cyber warfare, fake news, and modern espionage. The novel features former CIA officer Christopher Niles.

THE CHILDREN’S GAME “…captures perfectly the mentality of Vladimir Putin’s Russia … And on top of that, the book is near impossible to put down. A must-read.” – Former Acting CIA Director Michael Morell

I received this book for an honest review.

This set is a sweet romance series set in one town. The stories are mostly no adult content, more of a
you know what is going on, but you don’t know the details, until the last story which gives just a bit
more.
The first book Kiss at the Cove gives some background while introducing us to Prudence Parker and her
aunt. Prudence is a wedding planner that is seriously dedicated, and her older aunt owns a chocolate
shop. Aunt Ruby is such a character, and even owns a parrot. We are also given some background on
Corsair’s Cove and its lively stories of pirates and ghosts that are part of the town’s history. Pru literally
runs into a new scientist in town and ends up getting his help on some last-minute wedding issues.
When family tragedy strikes will they be able to rely on each other, will they run, or will a ghost find a
way to match make from the beyond?
Book two Kiss In The Wind introduces us to Livy Tarbert, a food chemist, that moves back to the cove to
help with the chocolate shop. She’s got some interesting ideas for some new chocolate creations that
might give some people cause to pause. Then there is Mack, the tavern owner, who is trying to find new
ideas for improving the town but not everyone on the town council is willing to agree to his plans. They
both must make a decision about taking a risk on love and there is a chance that a ghost may be helping
them along.
In book three Kiss On The Beach we meet Jamie, a carpenter, and Brynn. Brynn is the only cousin with
no interest in helping to run the chocolate shop and even wants to sell her share as she a CFO of a big
company. The only trouble is that when she shows up in town, the lawyer is busy playing pirate for the
weekend. Jamie has had a crush on Brynn for years and decides to try to show her what she’s been
missing. In the end Brynn must decide if she wants the big fancy job with the corner office or a life of
love in a small town.
The final book in the series Kiss In The Dark is really interesting. We meet the last of the cousins Eloise
and discover that she is sensitive to spirits and has dealt with some nasty, vindictive ghosts in the past
that have left her very careful of what goes on around her. We also get the interesting back story of the
ghost that haunts the chocolate shop, and how he must find love for all of the cousins. Eloise does not
make this easy for him at all. We also learn that not only have ghosts been involved in the town, but so
have witches and Captain Blackthorne is knee deep in the middle of it all. When Blackthorne decides
that no mortal man is worthy of Eloise things really get interesting.
There is also a short story at the end called Kiss at the Alter. This is a short story about the couple from
book 1 and what happens on their wedding day. There is a little dash of ghost meddling and of course
family meddling. It’s interesting and sweet. It also sets it up for a branch series.
I really enjoyed this set, and the history of Corsair’s Cove. Each book is not very big, and I finished the
whole set in one weekend, but I also read really fast. The world building is excellent, and the characters
are well developed. The family grows and changes as each character is introduced, and the cousins learn
how to work together and be a family. Over all an excellent overreaching arch that each individual book
ties into well.

#Review #Horror #Novella – Don’t Look In The Trees by Jason Nickey

Don’t Look In The Trees; the main rule in Appalachia. Many question why, but Justin and Billy found out the hard way on their way home from a bonfire party after coming across a fallen tree and mysterious lights coming from the sky. Can they survive the night and the strange beings coming from the forest that surrounds their cabin?

From Jason Nickey, Author of ‘Road Hazards’ and ‘They Come From Within’ comes a new fast paced sci-fi/horror novella.

This was a short fun little read.

Justin and Billy are heading home after a party with their drunk friend Kevin. While they’re driving, they see a bright light from the sky and the rest of their night doesn’t go as planned.

I do wish this story was a little longer but that’s a me problem, not the author’s. When the alien type stuff started happening, it reminded me of many alien movies I have seen over the years. Creepy crawly things coming out of someone’s mouth? Yes please!

If you want a quick read about a couple who are just trying to survive the night while dealing with aliens and the unknown, be sure to check this story out!

I received this book for a review.

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I’ve posted but this was a good story to come back for. I don’t get
the chance to review many audio books so of course I had to check this one out.
To start with I must say the narrator is excellent. She does a really good job with different inflections for
different voices and helping give the characters their own speech patterns. It’s very easy to listen along
and pick out who is talking.
The story itself is very interesting. The world building is very good, and it felt a bit reminiscent of the
show the Fringe. There is a reality parallel to ours and it is similar but not the same as ours. Where we
focus on a balance of things with our resources, they have focused on war leading to some interesting
differences.
The characters are also very well developed and take you through a range of experiences that draw you
in. Serenity is a very logical thinker and analysis everything all the time which leads to some anxiety in
some situations as to what is the best course to take as she weighs the odds as to what is the best result
and struggles to act in situations that require quick thinking. However, when it comes to studies and lab
tests this serves her well and she excels. While this may sound like you will get bored, I assure you this is
far from the truth. The author does an excellent job keeping things from sounding analytical and instead
you get Serenity’s emotions and deeper thoughts instead of boring analysis.
Overall, I think this story has earned it’s full 5 stars as you are drawn into Serenity’s worry about her dad
and his work and then into a whole new world. As she fights to find her dad and uncovers the truth
about his work things are not as simple as just going home. She makes new friends and grows into a
different person who knows her worth and what she is fighting for. I would recommend this for anyone
ages 15+ and just a bit of a warning there is a slight cliff hanger at the end. I am really looking forward to
a book 2.

Bryan Prosek is a young adult writer and business attorney. Along with his first two novels, The Brighter the Stars and A Measure of Serenity, he has published books and articles in legal trade journals and magazines. When he isn’t writing or practicing law, you can probably find him watching dystopian and science fiction movies or television shows. He loves the big screen and the small screen. There’s a good chance that he’ll be watching one of the numerous Star Trek movies or series, but he could be watching anything from Guardians of the Galaxy to The Conjuring.
