#Review #ExtremeHorror – Jane Doe: An Extreme Horror by Ash Ericmore

JANE DOE

Gordon is an everyday seaside psycho, kidnapping and killing for fun, with a quality torture basement to boot. His latest victim is Jane. Sadly for Gordon, Jane turns out to be a handful of energy. Cosmic energy. And everything is about to go wrong, in the bloodiest way possible.

Jane Doe is a novella that some people might find distasteful. Actually, most people might find it distasteful. If you are of a nervous disposition, or have a weak stomach, perhaps you might want to give this one a miss, yes?

Full of blood, gore, brain matter and more, Jane Doe is an extreme horror, painted with the blackest of humour. Consider this a trigger warning for just about everything.

This was a fun quick little read that didn’t take me very long to read. This doesn’t happen often, so I really like when it does. The book starts out with Gordon who is a taxi driver looking for his latest victim. A woman gets in his cab and he convinces her to go home with him for some coffee. Super innocent right? Why, nothing could ever go wrong over some coffee.

Gordon ends up drugging Jane and places her in a room in his basement. He goes to bed and wakes up somewhere else, with no recollection as to how he got there. Things take a different turn for him right away and I was intrigued from the very start.

While reading, I really had no idea who this Jane person was and why Gordon ended up unknowingly doing the things he did. It was hard to predict and that was what I liked about it.

If you want something quick, fun and with some gory details, grab this one now!

#review #partofaseries Silas (Station 47 5) by Lauren Runow

Kara
I moved to Nashville to follow my dreams of being a country music singer.
Who would have ever thought that I’d meet the love of my life at one of my first shows.
His enthusiasm for my music is evident, but when he gets his sister to invite all of her college friends to my next show, my music career isn’t the only thing soaring through the night.

Silas
I always wanted to be a firefighter, but I never knew how much of a toll it would take on my personal life.
Finding the one took a back seat early on, and the thought of having kids was absolutely out of the question. I’ve seen too much heartache and would never put myself through the possibility of losing someone I love.
I’m used to being the hero in everyone else’s story, but I never knew just how much I needed a hero of my own until I met her.

Silas is a standalone novel in the Station 47 series shared with seven other amazing authors. It is a surprise baby, country music, and found family novel with some sweet, emotional, and spicy times.

Review by Twinsie Dee

i was given this book by the author for an honest review

Another heart is set on fire in the station as Silas found himself at the bar after a rough call and spotted a gorgeous girl setting up her set that the March brothers had for entertainment at their bar. Kara is a nanny by day and an up-and-coming county singer after all that’s why she moved to Nashville, she wants her dream to come true, but she knows it’s a cutthroat industry but that’s it could be all worth it in the end. But even though she was warned in a joking manner that some of the firefighters that come into the bar can be trouble Silas wasn’t one that she was warned about. Will these two get the chance to write a beautiful love song everyone wants to hear, or will the lyrics be full of fire and hate, follow their journey through the flames of their relationship and what happens when the sirens go off.

Lauren Runow is the author of multiple Adult Contemporary Romance novels, some more dirty than others. When Lauren isn’t writing, you’ll find her listening to music, at her local CrossFit, reading, or at the baseball field with her boys. Her only vice is coffee, and she swears it makes her a better mom!

Lauren is a graduate from the Academy of Art in San Francisco and is the founder and co-owner of the community magazine she and her husband publish. She is a proud Rotarian, helps run a local non-profit kids science museum, and was awarded Woman of the Year from Congressman Garamendi. She lives in Northern California with her husband and two sons.

#Review #ExtremeHorror – Call Me Son by Mique Watson

George Marley has it all: the loving wife, the perfect family, and the job that pays all the bills.

It starts with an innocent chat. What harm could come from entertaining a longing he’d had for years?

He never expected to encounter someone like Chasten. The perfect specimen; the embodiment of all his fantasies come to life. Maybe just one meet-up wouldn’t hurt. After all, what his wife doesn’t know can’ hurt her.

But how far is he willing to go? How will he keep his fantasy a secret? What will he do when he finds out just how dangerous a game he is playing?

Oh boy. Okay so this was a delicious slow burn and something I was not expecting. Mique wrote in the beginning of the book how he hopes this story ruins your day. Lol! I didn’t ruin mine. Nice try. Better luck next time. Challenge accepted, Mique? 😉

Anyway. We meet George, who I instantly didn’t like by the way. He has a good life, a loving wife, a family, two beautiful kids, a successful job but of course, something is missing and he wants more.

George ends up on this app and meets Chasten. We find out that George is into some things that involve someone younger. Did I say how much I did not like him?

One thing leads to another and George and Chasten meet. Things take a turn for the worse and George makes a decision that doesn’t just affect him.

We learn that Chasten isn’t such a sweet kid after all.

Like I said in the beginning, this book was more of a slow burn horror for me and once the “stuff” started happening, it happened fast. It involved a lot of blood, gore, fluids, gore and so on. It was extreme.

I did predict one part and was wondering why George was so surprised when this certain thing was revealed. He clearly didn’t understand who he was dealing with and I was like, “Do you know nothing about the people on the dark web?”

This was another perfect extreme horror by Mique. He compared it to Broken Dolls but I think this one is completely different. Still gruesome with plenty of triggers but definitely a horror masterpiece all on its own!

#WOTR25 #audio – The Perfect Wolf by Elle Boon

His Perfect Wolf (Mystic Wolves Book 2) by [Elle Boon]

Niall Malik is alpha of the Mystic Wolves. His life revolved around protecting his pack and son. He planned to do this alone until finding an injured woman who stirred more than just his lust.

When Alaina Strop woke in the tattooed arms of a strange wolf shifter, all she could think of was getting closer. Having no memory was a small thing compared to the feelings she had for the growling man. Before she could give her mind and body to him, she needed to find out who she was, and be sure she didn’t belong to another. Though deep in her soul, she knew she was Nialls.

Danger came to Mystic as Alaina’s memory returned and her father came to claim her for another wolf. But Niall, the big bad alpha, had found his perfect wolf, and wasn’t about to let her go, no matter the cost.

Goodreads

Review by Twinsie Angie

I purchased this audiobook.

I want to start by saying I LOVE Audio.  However, this narration for this book did not do it for me.  I really enjoyed the story, but I would have loved any other voice.  He just couldn’t manage all the difference voices IMO.  This was the first time I have heard his voice so maybe it is different in other stories.

I was very excited when I met Niall in the first book.  SO when I saw he was book 2, I immediately jumped. Niall is a great Alpha.  His pack is his priority.  His needs and wants come second to them and his son.  The son he has with his true mate.  She is gone and he is missing her with everything he has.   Everyone, including his son, is asking when he will remate.  Niall decides to find a woman who will take care of him and his son while he heart wont be fully invested.  Sounds like a great plan Niall…smh.

Alaina is a mess.  Her father tells her she will be mating and mating to a horrible shifter of a man  A man who is meant to destroy her.   Alaina does what any women who do, she runs. She tumbles and lands right in the arms of Niall. The only issue besides her crazy libido, was se doesn’t know why she is there???

I liked Niall and Alaina. I really loved seeing Cora and Zayn from the first book laughing it up at Niall’s distress over his feelings for Alaina.  I also loved seeing more of the old pack alpha advising Niall.  Every alpha needs someone to lean on and Niall had a great support system around him.

The book is a quick read.  I enjoyed the conflict of Alaina’s “intended” and how it all resolved.

Elle Boon is a reader first and foremost…and of course if you know her she’s the crazy lady with purple hair. She’s also a USA Today Bestselling Author who lives in Middle-Merica as she likes to say…with her husband and Kally Kay her black lab who also thinks she’s her writing partner (She happens to sit next to her begging for treats and so takes a lot of credit). She has two amazing kids Jazz and Goob and is a MiMi to one adorable little nugget named Romy or RomyGirl (greatest job EVER) who has totally won over everyone who sees hers (If anyone says a hair bow is too big they’re crazy). She’s known for saying “Bless Your Heart” and dropping lots of F-bombs (I mean lots of F-BOMBS but who is keeping track?).

She loves where this new journey has taken her and has no plans on stopping. She writes what she loves to read, and that’s romance, whether it’s about Navy SEALs, HOT as F**K MC heroes, or paranormal alphas. #dontlookdown is a thing you will need to google. “wink” With all her stories you’re guaranteed a happily ever after, no matter what twisted thing her mind has come up with. Her biggest hope is that after readers have read one of her stories, they fall in love with her characters as much as she does. She loves creating new worlds, and has more stories just waiting to be written. Elle believes in happily ever after and can guarantee you will always get one within the pages of her books.
